Oisin

The sounds of the valley seemed as they always were, a dull rhythm of equid voices and hooves on crunching grass beneath the sharp chirping of the birds. It was easy for Oisin to imagine the mountains and it's surrounding woods and valleys this way, in an image of picturesque. Of course the stallion had hardly left the murky forest his entire stay in the mountains, but that was another story entirely. The important bits of his story are still to be had; the good parts of a book when everything is slipping into place, or the days of calm before the storm. That is where Oisin stood now, the light dappling his back with the few weak rays of a late autumn sun that drifted down between the cracks of the trees. I'm getting ahead of myself though, let me tell you a most remarkable story, remarkable because it has yet to come to pass, because the words are still being written. Let me tell you everything.

The snap of leaves seemed to bring the woods out of it's meditation, a couple birds chirping indignantly as the crunches continued across the brittle leaves that coated the ground. Oisin, for all his ability to seem like a simple shadow had never been the most stealthy of equids. It only seemed that when the stallion was not making an effort to quiet his hoof-falls, that he ever got anywhere quietly, or managed to have his appearance be a surprise. Today was no exception as he crunched through the trees, looking for all the world like a very noisy shadow. There were a great many of new equids streaming into the mountains and it's valleys in recent days, and Oisin had wrestled with his indecisive nature for days as to weather he ought to go looking for these new equids he had herd whisperings about. In the end he relented, spending a couple of days at his favorite stream before resolving himself to the idea that he might not see the safety of his shadowed forest for a while, and setting out for the Western edge of the trees.
The sun had risen halfheartedly into the sky when Oisin finally stepped out from between the trees, the rapid approach of winter dulling it's rays and warming the valley only a little. He looked around him, taking a moment to adjust to the shift in light; the sun, while weak was still far more bright than the stallion's grey eyes had become adjusted to. Then he saw them, a little group of equids standing close together and evidently in deep conversation. Oisin titled his head to the side slightly, listening to try and catch their words. He'd never seen them before, two mares, a stallion and a foal, (whom he might later come to call; Lucia, Pistol, Shaman, and Nizhoni, respectively) though the stallion didn't get around to socializing much, so the fact if he'd seen the strange equids before or not would do little to tell him if these were the new equids that had been spoken about. Oisin remained where he was, only just stepping out from the shadows of the trees as he tried to listen to these equids, relying on his unassuming color to keep the young stallion hidden for now

Shaman
A strange scent drifts my way and I look around to see a strange WME. I neigh a welcome and continue to watch him. This should be interesting, I thought. I swish my white plume and shift my weight from hoof to hoof. We just got to this new place and already we are meeting new WME. Very interesting in deed.

Lucia
I continue to listen for a reply from Pistol but watch my mate from the corner of my eye. I also catch the new scent and perk my ears in that direction. My brown pelt shimmered in the sunlight as it shone on this valley. I keep an eye on Nizhoni as she continues to pout as well.

Nizhoni
"Momma, I wanna go play. Cant I go play? Pwease?" I say while making a "Puppy face" with big sad eyes. I jump to my hooves with excitement when she says yes and start running around like crazy. I see the mysterious stallion and neigh a greeting. After all, I was happy, once again chasing that elusive butterfly...oh!FROG!I must chase it now!

Siren

As attentive as she was, Siren analyzed Static as she spoke to him, as well as the others when she went on to address finding a safe place. She got the impression Static's jaw was near popping open, he looked kind of shocked at first. Why? Obviously Siren didn't understand her place as a mare. Well she did, but refused to acknowledge herself as something to be held close and bragged about. As anyone she may have dreams of that, but she also wanted to keep it realistic. Everyone must have a purpose, even her. She also caught that smirk he kept trying to wipe off his face, which she wasn't sure how she felt about. It didn't look like he was plotting her demise or anything of course so she took it lightly and shook out her man before turning her head away.

It seemed drastic how quickly it went from dead silent as Siren ranted on more than necessary until everyone was branching off and someone new was taking lead. After all it wasn't very ladylike to be so bossy so she willingly let Kirian and some strange mare show the lead. This wasn't a herd, just a group of equids, so no one had much right to take full control. Share the power they say. " I'm following you, " Siren said to Kirian as he started off. She also noted the female who took off Static's halter go in her direction but she was a strange mare, so going with Kirian seemed more logical. Everyone would probably end up in the same place anyways.

Before parting with the group to prance after Kirian however Siren looked around at the group, making note of how many where there. Hopefully they'd end their search with the same number. Never good with names, Siren took to keeping a number tally. Turning herself to walk after the stallion she flicked her tail, that just so happened to dust over Static's muzzle. A silent chuckle escaped her as she did so, prancing off. That was for his smirk. The only thing letting it known she was just messing around was when she tossed her head and from behind one could glimpse a teasing grin pulling at her own features. It needed to be made clear Siren wasn't all sticks and stones, she wasn't too bossy. Fun was in her agenda too.

Hiccup

A million things were racing through Hiccup's little mind as she danced about under the cover of forest. All the wrong things. Tiny fillies should be clinging to their mothers sides, and if they weren't it was impervious they neigh their hearts out until they find mom. Not Hiccup. The blissful filly took nothing as seriously as it should. It had been who knows how long since she saw Mama or Papa, and only a few times did she stop to think. It was unsafe, unwise, but Hiccup was learning the fun in life and strayed too far from home. Ever since the storm that separated her from her family she hadn't been as down or devastated as you'd expect. Her heart was heavy sure, but she dealt with it well.

" Mr. Frog! Come out come out wherever you are, " Hiccup cooed, nosing about the shallows of a creek. Moments earlier the foal had been chasing a poor toad through the woods, and he had just escaped into the water. Hiccup, being as carefree as she was, ran right on in with him. She was standing knee deep in water and sticking her tiny snout just under the surface and looking for him. The need to find her new found friend quickly died though, and Hiccup found the skill to blow bubbles by exhaling underwater. A shrill fit of giggles escaped the filly until her sides burned from laughter. Then she dunked her head down and did it again, just bringing the onslaught of another fit of musical laughter.

A windguf came too suddenly on me dashing my mane in my eyes. I tried shaking my mane away, but with no use, it just got worse so I turned my rump towards the wind and shok my head fiercly and sighed with relief when my eyes where free from hair. I looked around, I was on a field, I had been wandering by myself for quite a long time now, and I felt so alone.. My biggest wish and craving now was just to find another equid, stallion, mare, bachelor, whatever. As long as I didn't have to be by myself anymore..

Being with: Watching Hiccup
Feeling: A rush of adrenalin, scared, energic

I stood and watched her, and felt how my heart wanted to jump out of my tiny little chest. Swallowing was hard as I couldn't stop my racing heart, and I was nervous, scared and I just wanted to hide. But I gathered up courage and took some catious steps out from the bushes and asked a bit nervously: ''Hiccup?''
I had no idea what she was doing in the water sticking her muzzle under all the time before bursting out laughing, her laugh was bell like and made a smile form on my face and I trotted over with a curious look: ''What are you doing..?''

Hiccup

With the filly nosing about the water she began to stir up the bed of the stream, making her pool murky. The darkened water was staining the white fur on her legs, making it a brown color with sediment. One more time she blew bubbles under the surface, her giggle fit following but stopped short by a voice. " What? " came her initial reply to hearing her name before she even called upon who said it. Turned out to be Rhapsody, the only other foal she knew. " Oh! Hello Rhapsody, " she beamed, lifting her head properly. Water droplets dripped from her snout so Hiccup shook her head, sending a spray in every direction.

What was she doing? Well having fun of course. She caught the smile on his face and returned it, Hiccup being a very happy go lucky equid. " I was blowing bubbles, " she finally answered him, sloshing through the water until she was standing next to him on the bank. Hiccup glanced down at her muddy legs, up to the knee was stained. She didn't mind much, but still leaned down and licked at one leg, but wrinkled her snout at the taste. Not going to clean herself up that way. " It was fun, " Hiccup mused, her attention stealing back to Rhapsody.

Pistol

"Ive only been in these mountains for a few days. And no, I dont know of any other equids." Pistol made sure to keep the right side of her face toward the family. She smelled what the others were smelling as well but it was coming from her right which meant in order to look to see who or what it was she would have to turn her head to show her clouded blind eye. Her tail swished a bit more in irritation with herself. Pistol gave up and looked over to see a faint outline of a dark stallion. She let out a breath in relief it wasn't something bad but then again two stallions in one area can get pretty bad.

I laughed slightly at her and shok my head giving her an amused look. ''And may I ask why your sticking your muzzle down to blow bubbles -'' I stopped in the middle of the sentence when I noticed her trying to taste the mud on her legs and when she raised her head back up again with a regretful face I raised an eyebrow at her continuing ''and you got to be one of the silliest, but bravest fillies I have met'' I gave her a slight nudge then gave her another question:
''But what are you doing here all by yourself in this pond Hiccup? Where is your mom, and why are you abandonding her side every so often?''

Regina looked between the strange mare and saw Siren prance off. She took note of her rather flirtatious behavior and let out a snort. She stopped and looked between Siren and BlueMoon and decided to follow Siren and Kirian, as she trusted them a bit more. She didn't really even know BlueMoon after all. She briskly passed Static and and trotting up beside Siren. She wished BlueMoon would come with them though, she was clearly very human savvy. Regina let out a rather frustrated sigh and also thought about Static. He better go with someone, I doubt he would last to long by himself.... The young mare thought. She scolded herself silently for judging him, and tried to clear her mind. Regina sped up slightly so that she almost beside Kirian, "Where exactly are we going?" She asked. It wasn't that she didn't trust Kirian, but she wanted to know. She wasn't to familiar with this area.

Hiccup

Why was she blowing bubbles? Good question. Oh! The frog of course. " I was chasing a toad and got distracted blowing bubbles, " Hiccup answered cheerfully, though she let her eyes wander back to the water hoping to see the toad again. Thankfully she had her head turned that way when he complimented her, because the skin under her fur flushed. Only the faintest pink tint could be seen through her white fur, but most of her face was dark in color. Once she felt her face cool down she responded to his nudge by nipping at one of his ears, tugging on it playfully before letting it go. Couldn't help the giggle that followed, Hiccup standing there flicking her tail to and fro. Her playful demeanor didn't vanish when Rhapsody's next inquiry reached her ears, but her head did tilt to the side as she thought. " Well, I don't really know where Mama and Papa went. There was a big storm and I got left behind. " It wasn't the most uplifting thing to think about but Hiccup still wore a smile. She was young, couldn't be expected to realize what that meant. " I think I do a fine job on my own though. "
