❝ Cermos jumps at the sudden burst of noise that fills the room. The explosion on the screen was not only accompanied by a loud bang, but also a few screams and shouts in several different languages, and the squawking of a certain Tramos. The adult's eyes fly wide open as the screen is filled with streaks of black, red, and gold. He then realized that this was not a video, but that this was live, and that button caused it. Oops, he thinks. The merchant looks horrified as she flies over to her disaster of a cart, black eyes wide and filled with tears.
He worriedly reaches toward the panel again to see if there was anything he could do to fix it, but decides against it. He doesn't need any more carts exploding. They were lucky that the owner of that one was away. "Hey, uhh, Matrel? I think we should get out of here and, uhh.. you can go back home and, umm.. go play with.. toys. Yeah, you can do that, right?" He chuckles nervously, peeling his brother's fingers from his clothing before scooting them both slowly to the door, waving both his hands palm-up toward the boy's back to motion for him to leave before Cermos. His eyes stay glued on the screen, looking terrified as he desperately tries to leave the scene before they get caught. ❞

♋ Matrel was hesitant about leaving until his mind processed the idea of toys, as well as the fact that if he didn't get out soon, he'd end up in huge trouble. Two sources of motivation were more than enough, and he straightaway picked up a slow jog towards the exit. "Cermos, what happened? Did something get broken?" He tosses a glance in Cermos's direction. "Did I break it? Am I in big trouble?" As he asked these questions, Matrel became more and more confused. If he was in trouble, why would he be allowed to play? "Was that stuff real? No one got hurt, right? Should we check? If it's real, I mean." His nervous mouth was chattering a mile a minute and he barely had time to process the thoughts before they were out.
"Can I play with my favorite toys? Can I play with other kids? What's going on?" Normally, he'd know how ridiculous it was to be asking such frivolous questions, but that energy he'd had earlier was returning, and he had to release it somehow.

❝ Cermos sighs quietly, pushing his brother forward quickly. Soon enough, they make it out of the building. A thought crosses his mind: What if there were cameras? What if they were going to be caught and arrested or something? Oh god, he can't even imagine what they would do to his little brother. His eyes widen with the thought, but then he notices his sibling's own babbling and just reached up to ruffle his hair a bit. "We'll be fine, don't worry," he says, probably more to reassure himself than the boy.
After a few moments, he pulls his brother into a faster pace, jogging next to him as they try to get home as fast as they could. He doesn't want to sprint like he usually does, afraid that they could get caught... and Matrel probably wouldn't be able to keep up, anyway. They finally arrive at their crappy, old house. The exterior shows its age quite well, what with its rusted metal walls, stained glass windows, and, basically, lack of any modern technology. They don't even have a lock. Cermos roughly pushes his arm against the door to open it as he twisted the knob at the same time, growling because it doesn't budge at first. He tries a few more times before it finally falls open, releasing the stench of the two unbathed boys' extremely filthy house.
Cermos walks inside first, holding the heavy door open for his brother, and then allowing it to fall back into its place with a loud thump. He glances around the room -- a tiny living room with an ancient computer sitting in the corner, a dirty rug on the floor, and toys scattered everywhere. "Hey, so, uhh.. I'm gonna go see what happened.. you stay here and play, yeah? Or you could go to one of your friends' houses or something.. Just stay safe, okay?" He smiles wearily at Metral, raising his eyebrows as he awaits a response.❞
