I can understand. My sona is 3 in wolf years, or a young teen, so basically the general age of 13-16 because I think those are the years where you can just kinda chill and that's when life is the best. It's when you have responsibility without worrying about bills or a job or anything like that. Some people just find younger/older sonas more appealing or more suited to their personalities, or they choose the age simply because it's unique.

What do you think about choosing attributes of a fursona simply for uniqueness? Is nonconformity more important than expressing one's self effectively?

Not necessarily.. Personally, I think if something suits you, then by all means, use it. Some people live by not conforming to the "model citizen" of modern society and staying with trends, so if everyone has a fursona with an age similiar or exactly matching their own, they may want a different age.
Or, they may just feel that they are a different age or mentality at heart.

AC is a wonderful con to attend your very lucky I live 20 minutes from
FurnalEquinox and I can easily ask to stay at a extended family member's
house to attend Condition Wasteland (and other Condition Conventions).
I'm also about 30 minutes away from Anime North. (: (furries still attend these to)

How long Have you Been in the Fandom: Sorry, what do you mean by this? (If it means how long have you been a furry, then I have had my bipedal LOCW since about 2nd grade. So, 7 years, maybe? But I didn't know it was called a furry for a while. )
Your Favorite thing About it?: I just really like having my characters like this, it's me, I guess.
