Shatteredstep continued to smile, glad that the deputy seemed inclined to help. The She-Cat navigated her way expertly around each tree, fallen log and bracken bush, having learnt the placement of herbs ten times over. As they neared the boarder between Sun Clan and the Twoleg's nests, she placed her already collected herbs down. Her eyes watched Emberflame contently, sharp realization stabbing at her stomach. It was obvious that the she-cat didn't want to be there. "How about you go of and hunt?" She suggested calmly, her expression of concern taking on one of a queens, "We'll come and find you once we're done." Her ending comment made it seem more of an instruction than question. Once she had watched Emberflame disappear completely into the trees, only then did she turn back to Moonfang. "Unfortunately Cat Mint doesn't grow in the forest," She told him, as if in training of teaching her own apprentice, "So for moons we have been collecting the herb from a twoleg's garden." Her voice was a quiet murmur as she portrayed the information to her friend. She had never told anyone this, fearing that whoever knew, would name her a traitor for befriending a kittypet. Before he had time to stop her, she continued. "Mudfall and I always used to travel here when I was his apprentice, The Kittypet that lives behind the fence had always helped him, and her parents before helped the older generations." As if on guard to defend her mentor's secret, and the stash, her eyes began to blaze and she stepped closer to him. "If you breath a word of this to Snowstar, or any of the other warriors, I will personally feed you to the foxes." She took a step back, and tried to calm herself, the blazing in her eyes soon fading; now her look was protective, as if one of a queen's looking out for her kit. "I do not wish for this to get out. These words have been only the secret of our Medicine Cat's fpr many moons, and I would prefer if it didn't end because I took a leap of faith, in confiding with you."
