I leaned forward until my lips, curled into a small smile, brushed the edge of Chimera's right ear. "It means heart," I whispered.

I purred after a split-second's thought. "It can also mean love."

Chimera hesitated. "Love....can be a strong word."

Chimera nodded. She was unusually comfortable around Raggedclaw, usually she's more wary. "Quite an odd sense of humor." she said with a smile.

Silversnow pads slowly across camp, looking around. She goes to the fresh- kill pile and picks out a small mouse.

I shrugged. "Not that I need a sense of humor anyways. My dad isn't around anymore to laugh at it, and my mother hates me, so she won't go near me at all," I murmured, a genuine hint of mourning leaking into my tone.
