I'm sure you've heard the horror stories of monkeys ripping off their "owner's" faces, "pet" bears tearing off limbs and "domesticated" tigers mistaking their owner as lunch meat. Wild animals turn on you. Maybe not always, but it's not a risk you should take. Bone doesn't love her, and he's not used to human. He should be out in the wild where he belongs. Your grandmother should contact a rescue, because he's way better off there.

He's used to having his food handed to him on a plate with no predators on his tail. He'd die if you let him go now. Personally, I would get him to a rescue where they can properly release him. Not trying to tell you what to do, but this is a serious matter. Wolves should not be pets. 'Tis why we have German Shepards and Pomeranians.

(didn't quote everything because it's a long conversation hehe)
I agree it's a bit of a risk. If you got it straight out of the wild, it is cruel in a way. You took it away from it's home and all it's used to. However, a back story would be nice. The rescue I volunteered at only took them from places like people owning them as 'pets', road-side zoos, acting businesses (for wolves in movies), they took them out of those situations and gave them the good life they deserve.

But Sonador, you have no right telling bone about their wolf. You have never met this wolf, you don't know if it's adapted to humans or not, and you can't jump to conclusions and say it's a vicious predator. It's their wolf, they know. But besides that I have met many wolves who form bonds with humans :3 There are even many ambassador wolves that are good around children and used to help educate people about them. I have interacted with many of these beautiful animals, they of course are a bit rambunctious and not polite like house pets, but they were just having fun<3 it was an amazing experience i will never forget.

But I still agree with you, if you got it from the wild it is not a good situation. Taking the wolf to a real rescue would be good, so it can get the care it needs. wolves should not be treated like normal dogs. I don't know how you care for your wolf, but they need space, raw meat, and it is best for them if they could have a partner, human dog or not. They are social animals and will be unhealthy without any body.

Well, I know it's wild and wild animals can always turn on you. I don't know the wolf personally, obviously, but I still highly doubt a wolf can form a bond with a human. It's highly unlikely.

How so? Based on what evidence is it highly unlikely for a wolf to be able to form a bond with a human? [Wow, I haven't been here in AGES... But I think I might return. :) ]

I'm just finding it hard to believe. Wolves are pack animals, and other wolves are what they bond with. Humans are not wolves.

actually if the wolf was raised or rescued in captivity (not taken from the wild) it is very likely it will form a bond :3 although bonds are much rather given to other wolves.
