Dumah carefully lay her bow on the ground, seeing that the hunter viewed her as a threat, or her enemy. She was on the side of the wolves, after all. " Artemis, " she spoke the other girl's name slowly, and then once more. Once she figured she'd pronounced it correctly, she lay her hand under her collar bones -- an indication that she was speaking about herself -- and speaking her own name. " Dumah, " she told her, the U pronounced as two O's. She looked to her bow, for once drawing her gaze away from the hunter who could easily do her a lot of damage. She pulled the arrow from her bow, which had still been set and ready to use, and returned the projectile to the quiver strapped to her back.

Lyra silently chopped some garden plants in her kitchen, in the middle of preparing a light soup for the evening.Being young as she was most of the townspeople encouraged her to stay in her cabin, to be safe from those 'evil' wolves. Lyra was not fully convinced though. She had this feeling that told her that there was more to the wolves than murder and dominance. The thought had always tugged at her mind but she wasn't brave enough to go looking for trouble. The wolves liked the townspeople about as much as the townspeople liked them. However, She did still love the outdoors and did her best to slip out to the arms of the trees and leaves and plants whenever she could. She poured the vegetables into the boiling water and placed the lid on it. Now she had time. She skirted off to her bedroom to slip on her father's old hunting gown before cracking the door of the house to see if anybody was there to hold her back. Once she was sure she wasn't being watched she sprinted from the house into the depths of the forest. Freedom was an amazing feeling and she enjoyed how real the forest felt. She danced like a leaf in the breeze, flew like a wild raven, and leaped like a graceful but sly fox not taking into consideration the dangers of the forest, especially for someone unarmed like herself.

Exploring her borders, Shadow Demon let her mind wander, her eyes closed as she searched the darkness around her. It aided her in what she wanted. No wolf could possibly patrol such a vast territory by themself, but with the help of the Darkness and the darklings, she could. Feeling a shiver run through her fur Shadow Demons eyes snapped open as they sensed a human who was unknown. Pinpointing her location, She let out a savage growl and launched herself in that direction. Stealth didn't matter yet, she was still too far away for a puny human to sense her, but when she got closer she would be a bit more stealthy. All too soon it was time for her to quit down. Approaching the place where she sensed the human she walked out in front of her and then sat down. Much like a cat would when it is bathing it's paws. “Human child” She growled as her eyes narrowed. The sliver of green in her golden eyes glinted as she watched her silently.

Artemis watched calmly as the girl told her her name. That's an interesting one...Wonder who called her that. A human parent, or is that translated from what the wolves call her...

"Dumah," Artemis repeated, showing that she understood.

What she didn't understand was the child unreadying her bow.Well, Artemis wasn't about to shoot an unarmed human girl, taken by wolves or not. Slowly, she eased down her bow and put away the arrow. She wasn't defenseless after all. She had a few knives and ropes tucked under her belt. But she doubted she would use them against the girl.

"What now?" Artemis wondered allowed. Even if the girl didn't understand, she must at least be thinking the same thing.

Perhaps it was time for Artemis to make her exit. What a shame....to leave without a wolf pelt.

Lyra was pulled from her feeling of ecstasy when a dark and feared form appeared before her. She stared wide-eyed, fear gripping her very soul. She went to take a step back and tripped, falling back onto her butt. Her green eyes couldn't have shown more fear...and yet she couldn't run away. She felt paralyzed. A voice broke the silence to say nothing but, "Human Child," in a dark unwelcome tone. She glaced around frantically looking for a human, one of the taken ones, as they were often called, assuming that the voice was human since wolves couldn't speak her language. Yet there was no other body besides her own and the wolf's. "You can speak..." Her voice shaky, still not considering that she could simply understand the wolf, which is what was really happening. The thought didn't cross her mind even. How can this be? Though she still firmly believed that the wolves had more to them than death, she knew that they still didn't like her kind and had no problem disposing of them.

ooc| Jumping in... hmm considering they are all somewhat the same age... Ren can know Lyra from childhood and know Artemis from training as hunters together a while back. Is that cool? :3

Ren's eyes cast off towards the more woodsy part of the forest, his heart beating slightly faster and his adrenaline kicking in as his uncle explained to him some things. Though the hunter boy was hardly listening, his mind was somewhere else. Somewhere far in the woods, this small clearing only freaked him out... mainly because these was where he first met his first wolf. His mind was sort of blurred from that day, but he remembered walking out here chasing after a rabbit when he was four. His thoughts were so small and his mind narrow minded, that he didn't take in consideration to where he was going. By the time he got there he met a large wolf, of course though.. he wasn't scared. He remebered going up to the wolf and barely remembered being growled at, then after that his parents came running in and snatched him up and ran. His uncle was the one to drive the wolf away.

Flicking her tail in irratation Shadow Demon focused on her. "Of course i can speak. Do you think your kind is the only one that has intelligence. Insolent pup!" She said as a lazy wolf smile appeared on her face, showing her teeth. "Now tell me. Now that you can speak, why are you here? I dont like trespassers. But i do like to eat them" A small glint in her eyes showed that she was teasing her. But in truth, humans werent that bad tasting.

Lyra was a clever girl with the ability to be devious if the situation called for it. Based on the fact that wolves did eat humans and this one had certainly thought about it, Lyra felt now was the time. “I was looking for any traps the hunters had set to set them off before something else did. And no, I know that everything has a way of communication, I just didn’t realize you and I spoke the same language.” She said in the wolves’ toungue without realizing it. She started to compose herself better and stood back on her feet. She was hearing everything in plain English though she wasn’t truly speaking it. “I suppose if you should choose to punish me for trying to help your kind, I can see why the townspeople do not want you around.”
