Hey guys, agnostic atheist here with a love for buddhism and paganism and a childhood of christianity. xD

It's quite an amusing mix. But its just rather hard to put a label on my forehead (not that I/anyone should, but whether we like it or not, we kind of do belong to something, right?) when some of the beliefs of religions fit so well but others don't at all..

I've kind of had an aggressive mindset against Christianity as a whole recently..
I'm sure it's not all that good, but certain things I've read recently make me feel like doing something, I dunno, like, educating people, that what they think they believe in isn't all sunshine and rainbows after all. And I don't mean being all like NO YOU'RE WRONG AND I'M RIGHT even though it does kind of sound like that.. Guh I'm kind of stuck on this. xD;

Summing up my philosophy was a little difficult, but I believe that word sums it up fine. I believe in many gods and goddesses but worship none of them. I'm very spiritual and fascinated with Native American religions, Polytheistic religions such as Norse or Greek and a few others. I also admire some of the teachings of Anton LaVey. So... it's a bit complicated for me. XD

Therianthropy/Otherkin isn't a religion. :]

I think you'll find more than a few people on the list who class themselves as 'Therian' or otherwise. Besides, this group isn't made for any religious group other than Christianity; it's made for all people who don't celebrate or follow the Christian religions and it's cousins.

Also; bubbly13 never stated that it was a religion - they stated that they'd changed her views.

Being very familiar with therianthropy, I can assure you, it's not a religion. x]
Besides, this group isn't made for any religious group other than Christianity; it's made for all people who don't celebrate or follow the Christian religions and it's cousins.

No idea what this says, but I'll venture a guess response.
This thread is made to take a tally of followers of non-Christian religions. Therefore, naming yourself something that isn't a religion here is confusing and I merely corrected her, letting her know that therianthropy is not a religion (to be specific it's a condition defined by a disconnect with the human species, a sort of 'transpeciesism').
Also; bubbly13 never stated that it was a religion - they stated that they'd changed her views.

Her wording was very vague. She may not have meant that it was a religion, only that she was one (which in that case isn't relevant or any sort of necessary addition), but to avoid confusion, I felt I should clarify. Even if she didn't mean to claim it as a religion, it's one of those very little-known and often-misunderstood things that don't need any further confusion following it around.

My post wasn't meant to be rude or reprimand, only clarify to prevent an already prevalent misconception from perpetuating further~ :]

I know your intention was not to be rude: don't worry about it. We're having a discussion, not an argument.

If so, then why is there atheist/agnostic members? Last time I checked, atheism wasn't a religion. Don't get me wrong here though; I do understand there are atheist religions - but if a member was a part of one, I figured they would write the name of their religious views rather than simply stating they were atheistic. Capisci?

To me; it's not confusing at all. It's only confusing to the people who don't understand it. If a person on here announced themselves as Therian, I very much doubt that people who see the post will go to their friends the next day and explain how being Therian is being part of a religion. In explanation; I'm not saying you're wrong. I know you're not. I just feel that there was little reason for pointing it out.

Also; you don't need to assure me it's not a religion. I know that it's not and I wouldn't have posted a response unless I know that it's correct.
