Personality :: Artemis is fierce and impulsive. She's the sort of person who could walk through a room and make the room ten degrees hotter. Maybe that's just the Aries in her. She is the person that one can immediately look at and tell she's the boss. In her rush to make a decision, she doesn't always make the right call, but she'll usually go with the first plausible plan of action.

Contrary to popular belief, Artemis is not a hateful person. She doesn't hunt wolves out of some vengeful scheme. Her family were skilled hunters and soldiers, most of whom survived the great war and could continue to survive on their own. She does it because she truly believes it is the right thing to do. Wolves are a disease, plaguing the world and destroying everything in their wake. She likes to think of it as putting a wolf out of their misery, even though some have deluded themselves into thinking they are happy living as monsters.

In terms of friends, Artemis doesn't usually have time for them. She is always researching for new wolves to target, training for her next hunt, or hunting wolves down. The closest she's come to friends are the allies that share her mission, to rid the world of wolves. She is rather friendly to these people and always excited to meet and help more. She smiles and laughs with these people but there are times in heat of the hunt that she will snap and remind people of how serious the matter is.

Artemis would be lying to say that she was not scared, only a fool wouldn't be. The wolves had taken everything from the other humans and although she suffered no personal lost she knew very well that her family could lose her at this fateful hour. Still, she wanted to collect at least one wolf hide before returning to the safety of her home, which was basically a fortress. Armed with her trusty bow and heavy-duty arrows, she carried onward on soft leather boots.

She had passed Shalbriri scent-markers by now she was quite sure, and yet she found no sign of the Demons of Blindness. Perhaps the Pack had moved on? Collapsed in on itself? Still, she knocked an arrow. No sense in being careless just because she couldn't see the enemy.

Silence felt her lips pull into a smile when the she - wolf corrected her, with a short addition saying that it was for friends. At the question about her nickname, she gave a small nod, " Also because I don't usually talk a lot. " she answered. " Anyhow, father, " she looked down at the black wolf by her side, " I'm going to go get my kill, if it hasn't been taken yet. " she pat his head lightly, gave a sweet smile to Storm and Tempest, and then stood. Turning, she disappeared into the shadows of the forest, her bare feet nearly silent on the forest floor.
Somewhere in the distance, her well - trained ears picked up on the sound of the soft 'pluck' that someone else's bow made when an arrow was released. Curious about whoever it was, she made her was over, carefully drawing an arrow and her own bow. She readied the arrow, quietly walking up behind the human girl, being careful to make as little sound as possible. She held the weapon so that if she were to release the string, it would fire directly at Artemis, but for now, she had no intention of hurting the human girl. She stood still, directly behind the hunter, and put just enough pressure on a stick that it snapped, to get her attention.

Artemis heard the twig snap and instinctively dropped to one knee before turning, her reading bow and arrow aiming at the human girl who was behind her. Not bad, Artemis thought. Almost as smooth and quiet a move as Artemis would have pulled off herself. Her first instinct was to assume the human teen was on her side, but her gut was telling her different. Besides, what human aims their weapon at another human in times like these, in hostile territory? A taken child, Artemis thought. That's what she is.

"That was a smooth approach. Your 'family' taught you well," Artemis said.

Dumah hesitated, before lowering her bow, as soon as the other human girl's gaze was on her. She gazed at her evenly, his light brown gaze holding curiosity, but also hostility, obviously displeased that someone so foreign invaded her family's land. Confusion crossed her features when the girl spoke. The sounds, the words, were foreign to her, obviously not having a clue what the girl was saying. She'd been raised completely by wolves, and had never once had contact with another human. Because of it, she had a lot of wolf - like tendencies, such as growling or tilting her head. She slowly lowered herself down into a crouch, the hand that didn't bear her bow placed on the ground to help keep herself balanced. She tried to speak to the girl, a feeble attempt at the language so foreign to her, " ..Who? " she asked her, making a slight indication toward Artemis with her bow.

They were having a stand-off from Artemis's perspective. How ironic it was that after all her years hunting wolves, a human might be the one to take her out. It wasn't until the girl attempted to speak that the situation dawned on Artemis. She doesn't speak English... It wasn't that the archer was usually this slow, but she had never encountered a taken one before. She hadn't given much thought to what they might learn from wolves and what they couldn't learn from them. Although Artemis was letting curiosity get the best of her, she made no attempt to lower or redirect her weapon. For the time being, this girl was still her enemy.

"Artemis," she said clearly, then broke it down. "I am Ar-tem-is."
