7:30 AM, in the car
I’ve been stuffed in cars all week long. At first I hated these car rides, but I suppose I’m getting used to them. I still can’t fall asleep in cars, though. That’s why I’m writing in you, journal. I should explain, shouldn’t I? There really hasn’t been much writing in you, lately. I was so busy with Christmas and the holidays. Well, anyway, for the New Year, Chubacabra and Daniel decided to take Azura and me to Scotland! Of course, I was all for it. The landscapes are beautiful, there are so many sites to see, and it’s where my name sake, the lochness monster, “lives”. I hope to discover whether or not the creature is real. I’m sure many people would think I’m crazy if I told them that, but I have my own personal opinion on the topic. The monster is real. It’s unlikely that I’ll tell anyone anyway…but I thought I could still mention it. Here I go again…ranting on with myself. I’ll stop now >.< I’m going to attempt to sleep again, but I doubt it will work.

11:00 AM, in my bed.
We finally arrived at the house! Apparently I was able to fall asleep (even though it took me like five hours) and I no one could wake me up when we got to the house we’re staying at, I was carried in and plopped into my bed for the rest of my sleep. It was quite strange waking up in the house, considering I fell asleep in the car, but I put two and two together at once and felt comfortable. Right now I am in bed, eating breakfast and writing in you. I plan to start my quest to find the lochness monster as soon as I can manage. That probably won’t be today, though. We’re supposed to be travelling to many sites, despite the fact that we only arrived and our exhausted. It’s fine with me, just as long as I get my research on the monster done. I have to get
ready now!

3:30 PM, in the study
I have been reading up on the lochness monster all day long. I swear, there is never ending research. This little project of mine is going to be the end of me. And to think I’m only eight years old. I’m sitting at the computer, taking some notes right now. The notes aren’t very conclusive, to my dismay. Sightings have been reported at just about every part of the lake. Some of them have been proven to be fakes, so that eliminates a lot of trouble, but there is still more after that. I have a lot more work than I thought. I suppose I need to get going and continue research, right? Well, talk to you later.

So I have narrowed down most of the results of the sightings. Most of them were reported a long time ago. There were still a few people alive, though. I actually went to talk to them about it. Almost all of them said that they were young children when they saw the monster and they were just making things up, and that I should stop looking now before I get myself in trouble. I’m positive that it had been trained into their minds that the monster wasn’t real. But there was one person who said something that stuck with me. He was a fairly elderly man, and when I talked to him, I was starting to lose hope on the monster being real. I told him what I was doing and how everyone else said I should stop, and before I could even finish explaining the quest, he cut me off! I was a little pissed at first, but I was polite and continued to listen. I’m glad I did. You know what he told me?
“Don’t listen to them. I know what I saw. That lochness monster is real. No matter what everyone keeps telling me, I know she exists. Don’t stop until you find her”
“I will” I replied, then headed home.
And I didn't lie. I will find that lochness monster, even if it’s the end of me. The creature is real.

Ever since that man told me about the lochness monster yesterday, I've been thinking about how maybe my approach to finding the creature is not the best way. I was thinking about it a lot, actually. I reread my research over and over again until my brain felt like it might explode and until I could pull no more information from the articles. I came to a couple comclusions about the best way to locate Nessie, but there are still gray areas. After difficulty with trying to figure out what I should do, it suddenly occurred to me that there have to be certain places that have more sightings than others. I was right. Now I have three places where it seems to be most likely for Nessie to live. Now all I have to do is test the water and then search…I can’t do it right now because it’s getting dark. I’ll have to do it later. We don’t have much longer here in Scotland, though. That does make me sad. That means that tomorrow is going to be a touring day. I probably won’t be able to do anything monster wise tomorrow, or write in you. Talk to you later…

8:00 PM, on my bed
I was right. All we day yesterday was walk around and admire the beautiful landscapes and such. I normally wouldn’t mind that, but my mind was pre-occupied by thoughts on my quest, so the enjoyment of the hills was dulled down a bit…okay, maybe a lot. Anyway, when I got home last night, I didn’t have any time to write about the day, nor did I care to, so I did some thinking about what I should next research wise. It wasn’t dark yet, so I decided to go outside and think. Then I had a bright idea. I went back to my research AGAIN. Yes, again. I’ve read over those articles so many times that I think I have memorized them. Anyway, I looked at the articles and then the map I made of where all of the sightings were. I used my knowledge of science and went to take some tests on the water of each area. The areas were relatively close to each other, which was quite nice, but it was still a bit of work. After that, I tested the conductivity, pH, temperature, and other factors of the water. There’s only one area that seems more suitable for life than the others. I know that’s where she must live. Now I just have to watch.

10:34 PM, by the lake
I shouldn’t be outside on this hill by the lake…but I am. It’s a little late and I am really tired right now, but I have to stay up in order to find out if Nessie is real. We’re leaving really early Sunday morning, so that leaves me about three more days to find her. If I don’t find her, I actually think that I will die. That’s why I am sitting here on this rock on a hill, writing in you. It’s my attempt to stay up. I have been here, watching, for almost an hour now. Nothing. I haven’t even see a turtle stick its head of the water. There aren’t even any ripples in the water! I think I may leave and come back tomorrow. I don’t care if something happens right after I leave and I miss it. I’m tired and I need to go to bed. I do think I should mention something, though. Before I sat down to watch, I scanned the bank area and a found a couple prints. Most of them were obviously from normal everyday animals, humans, or jellybean dragons, but thing was really strange. It was a drag mark and fin prints. It looked like something came onto the bank and then went in right after. Is it Nessie?

9:00 AM, by the lake
Yes, I am by the lake. I went to bed right away when I got home, then ate when I woke up and came out here. It’s actually nice because the lake isn’t very far from our rental house! I am able to walk there in back within a span of about 5-10 minutes. I’ve been observing for half an hour maybe. Before I sat down to watch the lake, I went to look at the imprint I saw last night. Guess what? It’s gone! Not a trace of it was left! Luckily I took a picture of it last night, but it isn’t very good. I can only assume that the maybe somebody accidentally splashed water on it, but I do find it very coincidental that after I saw it, it just magically disappeared. There are just so many things that don’t make sense to me. I hope things work themselves out eventually. It wou-wait a minute…there’s a dark shadow in the water…it’s really big! I think it might be Nessie…but it’s swimming away. There’s no way I can prove to myself or anyone else that she’s real with just a supposed sighting like everyone else who said they saw it. Now I have to actually watch closely.

10:30 AM, still by the lake
I’m still sitting on the rock, just watching the lake. I got up once a little while after I thought I might’ve seen Nessie, just to check is there was anything I missed, but there was nothing. So I have been sitting here for an hour, staring at a boring lake. There’s a little more activity sea-life wise, but nothing much. The only reason I’m writing in you is so I could report some more and keep myself busy. I think I’m going to go home now.

6:15 AM, by the lake…again
I decided to come out here even earlier than yesterday because it seemed only logical. It’s very cold, though. I really inclined to go back to the house, but I just can’t…my heart wants to find out too much to leave before my quest is accomplished. I think I’m going to go down and see if any more imprints were made overnight. I’ll check back later.

Oh..my…gosh…NESSIE IS REAL!!! I can’t believe it…I actually found her!!! I really wanted her to be real…but I never thought she was...I should probably give some background info! Like I said before, I went down to check for imprints, and this time I took my camera so I could record anything that I found. I did take some of things I thought seemed different from the last time I was here, but there wasn’t too much that was out of place. I saw a small imprint that looked like a drag mark, so I was bending over and taking various pictures of the imprint, when I noticed a huge shadow that was being cast over me. I took me a while to figure it out, but when I did, I turned around immediately. Guess What? It was Nessie! I was so scared and surprised and everything in between that I dropped my camera (It wasn’t broken…just a little scratched). Nessie growled and snorted, and then disappeared below the water’s surface. I was frustrated at first that I didn’t get any pictures of her…but then I realized something. I never really wanted to publicize Nessie…I guess I just wanted to know that she was real, even if I didn’t get any pictures. Knowing she is real is all I need. Now I can spend the rest of my vacation lochness monster quest free!
