Iris stirred from her sleep, her head tilted to the side as she slept. Her dream vanished and was replaced by her past, the fire and even worse, Sailor,Jinx and Pixar. She squealed and her eyes shot open. The blue roan mare stumbled to her hooves and leaned against the wal of the cave, panting heavily she flicked her gaze around the cave wide eyed until she remembered where she was. Sunlight met her dark green eyes. She shook out her mane and snorted softly. Finding her meaning of balance she slowly started heading out towards the cave exit. She met the snow and instantly sank into it. Her blue roan head ended up covered in snow. She snorted and shook it off before standing up again.

DeeDee stood in an open field. Her thick fur moving as she breathed in and out. her sensitive sides twitched as she dug her hoof into the ground searching for grass. She snorted loudly and continued digging, shoving her hoof into the snow she met hard frozen dirt. Eager to find food, the roan mare took both hooves and started driving them into the snow hoping to find grass. Dissapointment shot through her frame. She whinnied loudly in frustration and shot forwards like a bullet kicking out behind her. Letting her steam off into the air she continued running. Haring and whizzing past horses and trees she skidded to a stop sending snow flying. She perked her ears and sent out a shrill whinny to no one in particular.

Sailor nipped at the leaves of trees. Jinx failed at jumping up and grabbing leaves so Sailor bit down on a branch and drug it closer to the small filly. Jinx's eyes filled with delight and she snapped at the leaves eating them as quickly as she could. As the small buckskin filly was full, Sailor returned to the branches that she could easily reach. As the dark bay mare became full, she smiled and nuzzled Jinx before trudging through the snow. Jinx bounced through the snow hopping after her Mother giggling and smiling.

Pixar dug around in the snow searching for grass to eat. he turned to Hope and whinnied to his beloved mare softly before digging around again. Finding a small patch the dappled stallion smiled with triumph and started to paw at the ground. As he uncovered more and more grass he turned back to Hope. "I found grass.:"

[mindless.]

Inferno looked toward the cave at a squeal. Hurrying over he saw Iris covered in the remaining unmelted snow. Thank goodness spring was finally here. Nickering he bent his head to nose her. "Iris? Are you alright?" Brushing his muzzle over her to get some of the snow off he turned back to look at her and wait with concerned eyes for an answer.

Iris blew her ebony black forelock out of her eyes. "I'm fine Inferno." She insisted calmly gently swaying her tail. She had no idea she was in heat; until the smell hit her nose. She clamped her tail down keeping quiet. She looked down at the snow. She wanted a foal but she just didn't know how to say it.

[mindless.]

Inferno could scent her heat smell but tried to push it away. "Well you see, I was kind of hoping to talk to you. As you know, spring will not last.forever, and I bet Dancer would want her foal to have some company. What do you say?" The stallion tilted his head and flicked his tail, his instincts making him uncomfortable. The army just had to use him as a stud horse. Not just a worker. Flicking his ears he hoped she would accept.

Cloud He now got the feeling the that strange horse was a threat. He nudged lucky awake "Lucky keep an eye on feather for me, I'm going to make sure that horse over there does not want to cause trouble" he said. He trotted up to the horse who was only about 30 feet away. When he walked up to it he notice it was a mare and he did not feel as threaded, but the mare was definitely strong willed so he knew to keep his distance. "Hello my name is cloud who are you?" he asked.

Iris stared at Inferno for a minute stunned. The blue roan mare twitched her ears and snorted softly. She raised her head and turned back to Inferno. Her sweet tone of voice had a tint of fear in it. "I do want one... but all the blood and everything..." She trailed off perking her ears towards the forest. "I-i d-dunno...."

[mindless.]

Inferno smiled. "I know it is scary Iris. But I am not going to make you go through that alone. Just think of the perfectly gorgeous foal that will grow up with you? I have heard mares say their love for a foal is more than anything else. But if you really do not want to...I would not force it upon you." It would be a bit difficult.if she said no, as she would still be in season. But he could control himself. The stallion nickered and lipped her ears.

The golden mare opened a weary eye to glance over at Broken. She wondered if perhaps the stallion was asleep. She was feeling rather hungry so she stood up and shook out her long mane gently, not wanting to wake him and walked silently outside. She dug around in the snow searching for grass, using her muzzle to sweep aside the chilly flakes as her stomach growled at her for not eating anything sooner. She sighed and shook it off, patience was a gift she had never really been blessed with.

Her ears pricked with curiosity as she looked up at Pixar and walked over to where the stallion had said that he had found some grass. She looked down at the pile of snow he had put aside and smiled at him. "Well done" she nickered and nuzzled him gently. She felt a lot better knowing she wasn't alone out here, having him around made life a lot easier and the constant loneliness that had always seemed to follow her was finally gone.

The gray stallion gave a gentle snort and shook out his rugged mane, sending small shards of ice flying aside. He raised his head and looked over at Dee. He was excited that the mare would be having a foal next spring. It would be a new experience for both horses and he figured it would only lead to good life skills. He smiled down at the mare "Are you still feeling alright?" he asked gently, wanting to insure she felt tip top.

The mare opened one cloudy blue eye tiredly and let a yawn slip out of her muzzle. Her ears swerved gently as she heard Inferno talking to Iris. She smiled gently and rested her head back on the ground, snuggled up against the wall of the cave. She sighed lightly and closed her eyes once again. The feeling of having a family after all these years was strange and would take some getting used to, but she liked the other mares and Inferno seemed very kind too.

She pricked her ears and watched as Cloud set off. It looked like he was wanting to help another mare. Feather smiled gently at the way the stallion always seemed to be searching for some way to make sure that everyone was well looked after and that nobody felt like they had nobody to lean on. She looked over at Lucky, wondering how the stallion was liking hanging around them. Had he learned much yet?

Iris pressed her head gently against Infernos chest. The blue roan mare sighed softly. Fear continued to flow through her but she forced the feeling to the back of her head. She snorted softly and forced herself to calm down. "I want a foal Inferno." Iris smiled softly. "I want your foal."

Lucky Sprint's stinging, dark brown eyes swung open as Cloud nudged him. He nodded weakly, as he was still exhausted. Snorting quietly, he moved a bit closer to Feather, to protect and watch over her better. Lucky nodded his head up and down, trying to be more alert and awake. Once his eyes no longer felt the need to evaporate, he watched Cloud, his tail swishing, wondering silently if a new mare would join when... 2 stallions were there. Well, a stallion and a half.
