Now, as he regarded her mildly, he found that her attention had been redirected, leaving him unsure. She appeared to be quite bashful; was this the reason for her flattened ears? Unable to know, only making assumptions, the male's own eyes flickered to Sol, whom had just left the scene in search for Storm. It could not be that silver brute had gone very far. His scent seemed to leave an easily recognizable trail for Sol to follow, and he was sure it would not be long that both brutes returned, if all was well.
Presently he turned to the dark fae once more, his breath returning. The chill in the air suggested the bringing of the nightly temperatures, which, even in this season, were regretfully dispiriting. He'd never quite adapted to the harsh elements of Alaska, having come from further South. There, winter was much less unpleasant.
Narrowing his eyes, the brute seemed to ward of the wind that had begun to increase in its intensity over the last few hours. Due to its spontaneous nature, and partly to the exhilaration of the hunt, he'd barely noticed it before.
Its effects were growing on him.
He'd decided to try talking to Tenshi and break the barrier of silence between them, like a thin film. It would distract his mind for a bit.
". . .We never had such weather at home," he remarked casually, though the context at best was random, as another gust passed between them, before dying down. His brown eyes flicked to her, edged with curiosity. "Are you also from the South? I'd almost guessed otherwise, considering your hunting techniques."
Ƴαмι иσ ƬɛиƨнιTenshi looked up from the bull as Roland spoke. When he finished, she opened her maw to speak but stopped. She didn't really know where she came from. Her parents never told her and she never knew which way was which when she travelled. But she thought something up quick and replied,
"Uh, yes, the South.." she paused, "My hunting techniques are unique, yes. I taught myself how to do them since my parents died before they could teach me.." Tenshi went quiet as she spoke of her parents. Remembering how they died right before her eyes. The Gray had taken them from her. She was left alone to fend for herself. No brothers or sisters to keep her company. A small tear formed in her right eye and slowly crawled down her cheek. Once she realized, she lifted a paw to wipe it away and turned her head so Roland wouldn't see. Her eyes seemed dull and listless. Her tail went limp and just drooped behind her.
Tenshi no! Stop thinking about it! Roland will probably think you're weak for crying over the past. Toughen up! a voice screamed at her in her head. Tenshi shook herself and took in a deep breath. Once she calmed herself down and removed the sadness from her eyes, she once again looked back up at Roland. Her eyes searched his face for any signs of him thinking she was weak for tearing up over her parents. Tenshi was a paranoid fae. Thinking up insane things and thinking others think less of her because of her shyness and silence. Why? She did not know.
