Trying to calm his heartbeat, KC ducked his head, brushing his lips with hers once more. Pulling away their bodies apart, but keeping their hands linked, the prince twirled his princess around, laughing softly. He placed his hand back onto her waist and swayed to the music, resting his chin on her head. He was tired of pretending, tired of trying not the think of Serena. He just wanted to have fun. At least for one night.

{ Also, school.. That mean's I'm not going to be on until 3 PMish. Did you guys want me to post the kidnapping scene yet?

Serena laughed softly with him as they danced. It began to become colder outside, but Serena didn't even notice. Having KC this close made her feel warm and happy. She didn't want this night to end. She twirled around with KC on the song, resting her head carefully on his chest as he rested his head on hers.

"You know for a fact that I hate balls of any sort," she replied crossing her arms over. "I've had one dance all night with a young man whom I'm sure was a soldier, who then ran off to dance with his girlfriend. I got in another argument with Serena, and played matchmaker once again. So I'm having a wonderful night." She smiled and turned to Crystal. "This is a good friend of mine, from home," she replied not wanting to give away her identity. "You know each other I'm sure, but I'll let you figure it out yourself."

Nick nodded. Most of the Elyadon royals disliked balls, it seemed to be very evident in this generation."What exactly did you two argue about?" Nick was quite aware of the stressful relationship Serena and Arabella often had... everyone was. "As for this lady, Nick walked towards the lady accompanying Arabella and circled her, looking at her, "I believe she is from the palace then, I do not think you have many friends out of the palace. She must be a servant then... a maid... Ahh, why hello there young Crystal. You do look quite stunning today." Nick smiled gently at her, but enough to show his dimples. Crystal was a great friend of Arabella, even though she was a maid. They often spent a lot of time with each other, so they had a strong relationship. Nick always thought that Arabella was lucky to have Crystal, he had never developed a friendship with any of the servants back home.

Arabella laughed. "I knew you'd figure it out," she smiled. "Me and Serena had yet another disagreement about my preference on party activities. She hates my kind of fun." She hoped Nick knew what she meant by that. She smiled to Crystal. "The only attention I'm drawing to myself, is the wrong kind," She smiled again. "Unlike yourself, who has the boys falling at your feet. Mind where you step." She laughed a bit at her own joke, then stopped herself.

Crystal laughed a bit at the joke then stopped she smiled at Arabella "Not all the boys, and i don't really want all the attention" she said. She smirked 'Your sister may dislike your kind of fun but i love it,especially when we sneak cookies out of the pantry" she added laughing a bit at memories. Then she thought for a moment,'what should i bring for the meeting with the prince?' then she looked in the direction she left him and smiled to herself.

Nick took his mask off and then tied the string to his belt. It dangled there, swinging in the breeze. "Yes, well... Crystal does seem to be whom you are closest to, even closer than you are with your siblings." Nick whispered the last part and smiled. "Though, you're not the only one. There are others who don't feel as tightly knitted with their family. But I must say, you should best not to discuss these fun party activities with Serena anymore. She may used to have been a bit more 'interesting' in the way that she would have more fun but she has matured a great deal from then, especially how she is betrothed to the Avalon Prince and will become these people's ruler one day." He sighed. Rena was becoming more responsible and Nick did suppose that was a good thing, though he couldn't help thinking back to the days when it was just fun and games. How he wished time could rewind and stop at the moment which he was at his happiest. He smiled at Crystal and Arabella, "You two are both beautiful ladies, I wouldn't dare compare your beauty with each other. Now Arabella, what attention are you drawing? And what Prince do you speak of Crystal? Your conversation is confusing me."

I don't know exactly, but I'll probably be extremely stressed and busy by then. So the kidnapping could happen around the 22nd-26th? Or if you aren't available then it could happen earlier. Anytime before the 18th would be fine.

The first time I will be able to post from after the 30th will be March the 2nd-5th and then I'll be gone until the end of March, when I come back for the school holidays. So if someone could give me a recap before the start of March, I'll be extremely grateful. Bombard my messages with recaps for all I care. Thanks.)

You've always been the one I could talk to, she thought. You're the one I'm closest to in the family. No one else thinks like I do, but you come pretty close. She smiled at her younger brother. "Boys don't like ungrateful princesses who'd rather ride than dance," she replied simply. "You remember I used to sneak away when mother forced us to have dance lessons and I would hide in the stables? No one even notice I was gone." I'm a spare, she thought. An unneeded child of yet another overly opulent family.

Nick sighed. "Arabella, you are not by any means a stupid or foolish girl. How could you speak like that? And you should know that not all males like princesses that dance. There are some that would rather spend their lives as a commoner than as a Prince or Lord." He put a hand on her shoulder and squeezed gently. "You do know that you're not the only one gone unnoticed. You shouldn't call yourself a spare. You do know how busy Father is all the time and Mother is... not exactly the most motherly person. Anyways Lizzie, you're allowed to go out of the palace freely, while I've been trapped inside all my life."

"Mother and Father don't care where I go or what I do," she shrugged. "Because I'm a spare. All they need is Serena and Aiden and their pretty little plan works out to a T. Serena's the only daughter they needed." She sighed again. "You know better than I do that boys are what kings and queens want. You're much more important to them than I could ever dream to be," she replied. "Maybe that's why Serena and I fight...."

{ Trex and DeerInYourHeadlights - I suppose by then the masquerade will be over. Perhaps they will be traveling/hosting another event, and that could be when Nick gets kidnapped. Serena laughed softly with him as they danced. It began to become colder outside, but Serena didn't even notice. Having KC this close made her feel warm and happy. She didn't want this night to end. She twirled around with KC on the song, resting her head carefully on his chest as he rested his head on hers.

Not wanting the moment to end, yet knowing it must, the prince stopped dancing and wrapped his arms around her waist. They couldn't be seen together in public, they would certainly arouse several curious suspicions. And he wasn't sure he could contain himself with her so close to him. Breaking away from that kiss had been hard enough. Tenderly kissing her forehead, he made a promise he hoped he could keep. "We'll see each other soon, Rena. I promise."

Taking her hand in his, he slowly planted a sweet kiss on the back of her hand. "Goodnight, my princess." he whispered, backing away with a wistful smile on his lips. Upon entering the palace, KC dodged the rushing servants, and took a back stairwell to one of the turrets. It was a little space that he used to escape to when he was a boy, somewhere he hadn't been in a long time. Back then, he would usually take Serena with him. But not tonight. They were grown up now, and if they were caught sneaking about.. well, the rumors would fly. Dusting the cobwebs off the familiar ledge of the open window, the prince sat and leaned against the stone wall. Sighing, he ran a hand through his hair.
