♔ here's the thing: rosie dalton was adopted. nobody knew who the mom was or where she came from, but there was no question that rosie wasn't wanted when copper dalton came to the door christmas morning to find her swaddled in a pink blanket with a little stuffed bear clutched in her newborn hands. once copper managed to pry the bear from her hands, he read a message tied around its neck that explained everything but what the brown - eyed, dark - haired baby was named and who her mother was. and so he named her rosie. copper wasn't quite sure why, because up until now he'd never quite liked the name. but he had this gut feeling that rosie was the right name to go with. and so it was.

♛ eighteen. all grown up.

♔ what's a mystery to the little town of arcola where rosie grew up is her birthday. it's been decided by doctors that she is, indeed, eighteen, and that she was born somewhere between september and early november. so, taking early november literally, rosie's adoptive father decided a fit birth date would be the first of november. she turned one on the first, and turned eighteen on the first, and will continue to celebrate on the first until, by some miracle, her real date of birth is discovered.

♛ wow. that stung a little.

♔ rosie spends an hour in the bathroom in the morning, making sure she's perfected her look. she's a 32b cup. she wears skirts and her hair's almost to her ribs. is she a girl? oh, i wonder. one would have to be both blind as well as deaf to have trouble deciding if rosie was male or female, considering that she's pretty feminine. just in case you're having a little trouble still, that's a yes - rosie is, indeed, a girl.

♛ don't s'pose i'm too awful to look at.

♔ rosie is a tiny girl. she's got a tiny nose, tiny hands, a tiny frame. tiny curves, tiny shoulders. even her high cheek - boned, heart - shaped face is small. that doesn't mean everything about her is small. rosie's lips are full and colored a dusty pink shade, leaving her with a girlish kind of look. her almond - shaped eyes are a warm brown with a bit of an amber tint to them. pale skin leaves her looking slightly sickly, but a little make - up touches that right up, as well as her hair. it's a dark, dark shade of brown - almost black but not quite. there are a few red tints that show up only when its sunny, which helps to even out her complexion and make it more natural - looking. standing at a petite 5'5" { five feet and five inches } and weighing 110 lbs { one hundred ten pounds }, she's a healthy young woman. her jaw and throat connect elegantly, leading down to a little stature. slender arms move on to small hands and slender fingers fit for piano - playing. she's got a 32b bust, just right for the rest of her body, and a slight hint at curves above her hips. rosie's been described as " fairy - like " before, with her thick, wavy hair and her elegant way of moving. ironic, huh?

♛ i'm a good at keeping secrets.
♔ there's plenty of great things about rosie. she's a sweet, loving girl, there's no doubt about that. she could be described as the school's 'mama', actually, because that's what she acts like. rosie has so many secrets held up inside that brain of hers that she could burst, but that's alright. everybody around campus knows that they can go to rosie with anything and that she wouldn't tell a soul. it'd break her heart if she did, because then she'd be betraying someone's trust. and if you know miss dalton, you know that she will never be able to bring herself to hurt anyone no matter how much abuse she takes. anyways, bullying won't matter a thing to rosie. she's got very stable self - confidence, though she isn't boastful.

♛ i'm a little nosy.
♔ you can't really blame rosie for being nosy as she is. she's just so used to being the secret - keeper that she kind of looks for secrets nowadays. now, she can take a hint, so if you tell her to mind her business she will. until your next problem pops up. like i said, she takes on the qualities of a mother. and what are two of the best and worst traits of a mother all at the same time? an overbearing nature and a need to know all your problems. she really just wants to help, but sometimes it gets annoying. and that is what rosie has the potential to be: annoying. she's really working on it, though, so she'd be grateful for someone to set her straight the moment she annoys them so she can start to recognize at what point she gets annoying. the only problem with that plan is she tends to take things a little too lightly.

♔ rosie's played every part in a relationship possible. third wheel, councilor, wing-girl. she was even the wedding planner in kindergarten. but never was rosie much of a dating kind of person. she was always too busy to support a serious relationship. of course, she's had other problems. spending too much time with other boys ( although, of course, it was entirely innocent ), not spending enough time with the boy she was supposed to. it always seemed to be rosie's fault, and she hated that. so she figured she'd play it safe and not date for a little while, although she's open - minded and ready to try anything.

eden literally despises her first name 'juno'. she's not one hundred percent sure why she does, but the fact is, she doesn't think it has the sort of sound that really describes her, and she's not completely sure it fits her persona. then again, she's not sure how she feels about 'eden', either, because she feels like having such a name makes her seem somewhat pretentious in a way, but she likes it a lot more than 'juno'. you can call her 'eden', 'june', 'j', anything but 'juno'. or something derogatory. either than that small blip, though, eden finds introductions rather easy, and she has little trouble getting by in conversations. she tends to try and make herself the center of attention.

eden is very, painfully aware of how short she is, but she makes up for it in attitude and demeanor. she's not one to melt into the background, and you'll notice her no matter what you do or try. she makes a point of showing that her height isn't some sort of handicap. besides this, her physique is rather pixie like. her hands, feet, everything are on the smaller side. it kind of makes her look more cute than her age, but you really shouldn't let that fool you. and you probably shouldn't mention that to her face, either. she doesn't like being called cute.

eden is a lover of gossip, secrets, and rumors that no one else knows. those are the best ones, she thinks. she loves the feeling of having information on something that other people don't. it gives her this sense of superiority and control over others. as you might imagine, she's ruthless when it comes to getting what she wants, and she's not afraid to do some underhanded tricks in order to get them. most of the time, she'll be convincing some poor, easily influenced souls to do the work for her. she's manipulative in this way, but she's willing to get her own hands dirty if she has to. of course, no one really wants to do that if they don't have to [isn't everyone inherently lazy?], so eden usually lets other people do all of the grunt work in her stead.
eden enjoys getting people to trust her for the sake of convenience and having people around to listen to her, but in reality, eden does not trust easily. she does not depend on other people, nor does she believe people are dependable. eden is adamant that she stays alone and that, in the end, she is the one that she can trust the most. while she knows that she's definitely not the best at everything, she knows her own shortcomings and strengths, and this is where she believes she is the only one she can trust. she doesn't know about everyone else in the world as thoroughly as she does herself. therefore, it would be much safer for her to simply depend on herself because she knows her own limitations.
while she can be vicious and impish, eden can also be the life of a conversation when she wants to be. she's perfectly capable of being charming, warm, and welcoming, but she isn't going to let down any of her walls. still, she loves being around other people. she might not confide in them, but she finds it fun to socialize and interact. she gets bored out of her mind when she's home by herself, and she feels idle when she's not out and about entertaining a small crowd with a few jokes here and there. she has a good sense of humor and what's considered the social norm of "fun", although her definition might be slightly different from everybody else's.
eden is obsessed -- obsessed -- with fashion, clothes, shoes, and things of that nature. she's constantly rifling through fashion magazines in her spare time, and she's most often dressed for success, as they say. it's rare that you'll ever spot her in casual clothes like sweatpants or a hoodie, even in her own house. she finds outward appearances extremely important, and makes sure that no one sees her just out of bed in the mornings. no matter how early it is, she's always dressed and ready to go at a moment's notice -- with full make-up, too. surprisingly, eden's closet is very neat and doesn't have as much clothes as you might think. it's a combination of eden not being made of money and eden donating and/or throwing out things that are no longer in style and, as far as she can tell, won't be coming back in style for another three to five years at least.
as you might expect, eden is rather artistic and has a knack of matching up colors and making up designs. she has a good eye, and if you ever want to have someone really inspect something of yours for the aesthetics, you'd have luck speaking with eden. however, she doesn't hold back. in fact, she'll probably make the critique bleed into an insult, if she can.
despite her really, scarily good acting skills in a party or something similar, eden is really a cold, unapproachable person. while she doesn't show it off with any anxiety [she has an image to maintain!], eden can easily dish out a whole mountain of insults from the shoes you're wearing to what you ate a month ago. eden has a distressingly good memory with those sorts of things [although, when it comes to schoolwork and things of that sort, she completely forgets everything].
eden is particularly vain and selfish, especially about her clothes and such. you can take her food, her pens, her books, anything, but if you take her clothes without her permission [not that she'll ever give you permission if you ask], then may god help your soul. not only is she disturbingly overprotective of her clothes and is very territorial, but eden doesn't forgive easily. she keeps her grudges to the grave, and she never forgets anyone that has ever crossed her path and gotten in her way. she's vindictive and driven enough to take you down, depending on how great the transgression is. however, when it comes to these sorts of things, eden is very hasty, and she usually loses track of what she's doing when, so she'll tend to mess up her evil schemes because she's so anxious to get them done and make the target pay. so I guess really, you don't have to worry about offending her, since you probably won't be attacked only because she's so hopeless at implementing master plans, but then again ...

there are many harrowing stories of girls fighting against the world ... but mine isn't one. sorry.
eden has had a painfully normal life. her parents married at a young age, and she's the only child, so she was used to getting a lot of attention from them. she was allowed to do whatever she wanted when she wanted when she was a child, so she's used to having a lot of independence. eden never much connected to her parents, who were carefree and never took anything seriously. they neither disciplined nor complimented her, and while she could do what she wanted whenever she wanted to, most of the time she resigned herself to either doing nothing or the most extreme things to get some sort of reaction out of them. really, she just wanted some attention from her parents, but nothing seemed to get through to them.
eventually, when eden grew older and she was fed up with the pranks and the attempts to win their favor, eden simply shut her parents out completely. she didn't bother to answer them at the dinner table and rarely did what they asked [when they asked her to do anything at all]. she built a wall around herself and was determined to take everything that came at her seriously and with the intent to win. she refused to be one-upped by anything or anyone, and she was going to make sure people remembered her for being tenacious, even if the thing she did wasn't particularly appealing.
while she's been in the town for all her life, she hardly came out of her shell until recently.

raj has had the pleasure of never having to deal with anyone else in his home, as his mother died early in his life and his father was never home. he has no siblings, so it usually ended up that he would be sitting in his room doing as he pleased whenever he wanted to. his father also tended to spoil him a lot. raj is very talented at whining and complaining someone to tears, and he's also a very good spokesperson. he'd make for a great businessman, if he tried. as a result, raj is used to getting what he wants when he feels like it. he's somewhat of a brat in this respect.
to be a bit more detailed: his mother died when he was three, so he hardly remembers her, although he is upset that she was taken away from him at such a young age. while it's not that he misses her, it's strange to grow up without some sort of mom in the house. and his father, not being one to be comforting or coddling, showed his affection by encouraging raj to do his best in schools and sports, although that didn't really go well. his father doesn't really pay attention to these sorts of things, however, which is in raj's interests. he can slack off without fear of repercussions. the relationship they have is nearly nonexistent. they don't speak to each other much anymore, and they hardly see each other because of conflicting schedules. it's almost as if raj lives alone.
he's lived in the town for most of his life, although he's not really one to make especially close friends. he's kind of a hard guy to get along with.
