Serena smiled softly as he pulled her up. She gently placed her hand on his shoulder and danced with him. "Always." she replied, glad the two of them were okay now. It was good to spend some time with KC. "You've grown the past year." Serena noticed. The boy was a few inches taller as her, while a year ago they were about the same length.

((Oh. Well, I suppose it just keeps options open now...))

KC blushed as she spoke. Making him blush was almost an impossible feat, but Serena always managed to do the impossible, no matter what. Chuckling softly, he leaned forward, resting his forehead on hers. "You've grown as well." he said, his blush turning a furious shade of red. Twirling her around in his arms, he smiled at her. A real smile, something that was rare those days. Serena had grown. She had always been beautiful, but there was something different about her now. She seemed more mature, and a bit secretive. He wondered if the last part had anything to do with him.

Serena chuckled softly. "Nah. That's just the heels." she replied smirking. She hummed along with the song, dancing with KC as she felt his head on hers. It felt right. She was happy. Serena smiled as she allowed herself to melt away in his arms. Nothing did exist anymore. Only her and KC. "I missed you, Kaleb." she said softly.

Nick sighed and looked down at the gardens once more. I might as well go down for a walk, there's nothing that would probably interest me up here. Dancing with Serena was quite nice, but now that she has gone somewhere, there really isn't anything else for me to do. I won't be able to recognise my other siblings... Nick frowned as he thought about the others. He was especially worried about Aiden, no one he had spoken to was sure if he had come to the Harvest Dance - he had travelled with Tristan, Serena came here herself and he hadn't spoken to the others. Nick shook his head, there was no need to be worried, Aiden was old enough to take care of himself. He glanced back towards the ballroom, everyone seemed to have a merry time, everyone except him. He placed his glass cup onto the balcony's ledge and then walked towards the stairs that descended into the garden. He walked onto the garden's path and pulled off his mask, holding the string attached and swinging the mask around and around. Nick smiled, it was great to be free of the restrictions the mask gave, it was quite hard to see properly with it on, it blocked his peripheral vision. He took a deep breath, the air was much more refreshing here than in the ballroom. He continued walking deeper into the garden and then suddenly he heard some voices, he went closer and then then thought he could hear... Was that Arabella's voice? He quickly put his mask back on and walked towards the voices, he saw two ladies hugging each other. One certainly looked like Arabella's from this angle, he thought and then stepped out from the shadows. Nick cleared his throat and said, "Uhh, sorry, would I be interrupting something?"

"Not interrupting at all," Arabella smiled at Nick from behind her mask and threw a loose strand on her long red hair back. She studied the young man that stood before her for a few seconds. "Nice to know my little brother looks out for me." She smiled. "Don't protest, I know it's you," she laughed a bit. "I know your eyes anywhere, and that wild hair of yours. It makes you easy to find."

KC smiled at her mention of her shoes. Her silk dress swished as they stepped to the music. His smile faded as his thoughts turned stormy, back to when all he thought of was Serena. When some days all he could do was sit and mope around. And then the masquerade was announced, and he knew that Serena would be there. And that he needed to see her again. Realizing that what he was about to do was overly stupid, and could put both of them in danger, KC leaned down and pressed his lips gently against hers. Everything in his mind disappeared, and it was only her. Serena and her flame-red hair, Serena and her emerald eyes. She was perfect, but she couldn't ever be his. "Rena, I've missed you too." he said, softly, stroking her hair.

Serena started to blush when their lips met. His soft, caring lips brushing against hers. It lit up the fire inside her. The butterflies came back immediately and all her thoughts flooded away. She was only able to think of one thing, one person. The perfect, caring, handsome, sweet guy in front of her, KC. Serena looked up at him as he stroked her hair, deciding she would fight for this. She wanted him to be hers. She wanted to spend her life with him. Not Zerrick. KC. The girl reached up and pressed her lips back against his, only to let him know she still loved him, even though she had already mentioned it ten times before today.

Nick smiled, it was Arabella after all! "Of course I would be looking out for you my dear sister." He laughed, "Yes, I do suppose my eyes give me away. But as a matter of fact, I combed my hair this morning. You do know how uncommon it is for me to do so, you insult me by saying my hair is unruly!" Nick tried to say it angrily but failed miserably. "Which reminds me, have you happened to see Aiden? Did he arrive in the same carriage as you?" Nick grew serious. There was always the possibility that Aiden came by himself... but Nick just felt like asking.

Arabella laughed and ruffled his hair. "You looked better that way," she smiled. "But I can't say that I have seen Aiden yet," she admitted, pulling her mask away from her face and resting it on top of her head. She was, after all talking with her brother. "It was just me and my friend here in our carriage. Oh and couple of snickering ladies who couldn't seem to get their laughter under control. Come to think of it, I haven't seen Aiden since this morning, and I didn't even see him for that long."

Nick chuckled at Arabella. She had to lean up to be able to ruffle his hair, but then her next comment made him frown and stare off into space It seems like Aiden hasn't been around a lot these past few days... and no one has seen him come to the ball. Urgh, stop worrying about him Nick, he'll be fine. Nick shook his head slightly and looked back at Arabella. "How have you been enjoying the ball so far? And who is this young lady here? She seems a bit familiar..." Nick smiled at the young lady who was standing next to Arabella. She was the one that had seen him first and it was quite rude of him not to acknowledge her until now.

"You know for a fact that I hate balls of any sort," she replied crossing her arms over. "I've had one dance all night with a young man whom I'm sure was a soldier, who then ran off to dance with his girlfriend. I got in another argument with Serena, and played matchmaker once again. So I'm having a wonderful night." She smiled and turned to Crystal. "This is a good friend of mine, from home," she replied not wanting to give away her identity. "You know each other I'm sure, but I'll let you figure it out yourself."
