Candy Kisses (f) and
Starless (m)
Well I promised a story about these two a while back, so I thought I'd start a little something:) I've decided to try a story in anthro form, it sounds fun x3

"There, good as new."
I hold up my bear above my head, examining my handiwork. The patchwork on his tummy is messy, the stitching and the new fabric completely different colours, but he's still my bear, and I still love him. He looks sad, like he wishes I were a better seamstress, so I could have made him look brand new. I set my mouth in a thin line, and place him in my lap, my thoughts swirling. Honestly I've never sewed a stitch in my life, but today's incident required me to try.
I was out at the market-- I'd run out of peaches, and I had a bit of spare change to buy a few more. I had just spotted the fruit stand, and I had slung Bear over my shoulder for just a second, to count out my coins. There was a hand, a snicker, lots of people moving fast around me, and then Bear was gone-- A raccoon had snatched him! I stared at him, wide-eyed in fear, ears pointed right at him. I could feel a whimper building in my throat. The raccoon tossed Bear over my head to a black alleycat, and they continued to pass Bear around and shove me in between the two of them and pass and shove and pass and shove and pass and shove and-
Rrrrriiiippp!
"It's okay little bear, you're all better now," I whispered to him softly, pouting at the memory. Everyone has always taunted me for carrying Bear around, and I've never understood why. They've always laughed and pointed and whispered, I always feel so unwelcome in public. I feel like I don't belong here. The garden on the outskirts of the village walls is the only place I feel safe; nobody else ever comes here.
"Hey, you're the teddy-bear girl." Or, at least I thought nobody else came here.
I sigh lightly, hug my bear to my chest, and turn around to face the speaker. It's a male, some sort of strange canine like I've never seen before. His coat is a soft shade of creme, scattered with little stars and nebular designs, in different tones of gray. The patterns continue onto the man's tail, which hangs down and drapes along the ground as he moves. He has a gray soulpatch on his chin, and a pair of stunning eyes like liquid silver . He wears a pair of faded black jeans, without a shirt; it's a hot day after all. I now realize that I haven't responded to him, I have only been examining him-- great. Now he'll just think I'm slow as well as a social outcast.
I swallow, and cast my eyes down. "I'd like it if you just left."
But instead, he moves his gaze to Bear. "When did he get a patch ?" he asks quietly. He has a calm, cool voice, to match the molten metal in his gaze.
My eyes flick up to him quickly, and I hold Bear closer. "Someone took him from me today and ripped him in half," I murmur obediently. My caramel fingers move to Bear's new violet patch absently, and I stroke the seams.
"May I see him ?" The man reaches out his hand, and I shy away from him, turning my body to put myself between him and Bear. He drops his hand, and frowns slightly. He seems to be changing something in his mind and making a new decision. "Teddy-Bear-Girl can't be your actual name," he begins, a thoughtful tone to his voice. "What is it really ?"
I fidget, resting one of my feet on top of the other. "Candy," I murmur. Nobody has called me by my name since my father died.
"Candy," he repeats, trying out the name on his tongue. "It fits you. You're alot... sweeter than everyone else here. It's nice to officially meet you. I'm called Starless."
I look up at him suspiciously. "Officially..?"
He smiles shyly, and looks down at the tulips. "Well I've obviously heard about you, everyone knows who you are. And, whenever I see you out at the market, I always keep an eye on you, though I'm a little ashamed to say it. That doesn't make you uncomfortable does it ?"
Yes it does, greatly uncomfortable. But I don't want him to know that, so I shake my head no. I stand up, looking to the horizon. It's nearing dusk. "I'd better get home now, sorry."
Starless nods in understanding. "Of course, of course, me too. It was very nice to meet you, miss Candy."
"Erm, you too." I stride away from the garden, hugging Bear. Quickly, I steal a glance back over my shoulder. Starless is still standing in the garden, twirling a flower between his fingers.
What was that even all about ?
