Bonk my upside the head if this is spam,
but I had an idea concerning a new club.

I'm currently a member of Inklings, but I'm beginning to wonder if it would be fun to create a literate/advanced writers club with a similar acceptance judging. We could discuss anything really, even literate role play ideas. I just wanted a show of hands of anyone here who would be interested in something like that.

I've also thought of a new service for the club, related to the character exchange thing we did a while ago.

I'd like to make a, er, lending library of characters for the club, where we post characters we've made for other people to 'check out'. I have so many characters that I love, but may not have time to ever actually RP them. I wouldn't mind someone else writing them, if they're who I trust to do justice to their character.

It'd go like this: User A offers their character in the lending library by posting their form. They state the terms for which they're willing to share the character. User B PMs User A, and asks to use the character in a particular RP. If they agree, User B posts the character in the RP they intend to use them in, with a disclaimer that this character doesn't belong to them, but to this other person.

I don't know if any of you would be interested, but I could get it started up if anyone is.

Arty, that sound amazing... Like for me, who hates forms with a passion, and creates a new character for every role-play... It would be amazingly helpful.

All righty then, I'll make it! I'd be happy to run the thing, but I could use some coding help setting it up (Iri? ), as well as directions on where to put that thread. Also, it'd be nice to have Smarm's approval, so it can be properly affiliated with the club and everything. :3

Basically, it would be a club for anyone who takes writing seriously. I know a lot of people who do it for fun, but what about that lot that wants to be published or take it a step further? Inklings is great for sharing works and discussing it, but anyone can join whatever their literacy rate. Plus, they aren't a big cuddly group as we are; a lot of users come and go. It would be similar to here, just expanded beyond roleplaying...short stories, novels and such other things.

I'm debating whether I'll carry out with it, but I'm glad your all interested. :>

I've been trying to find test-readers for my stuff, but I'm terrified of posting it all online due to possible publishing constraints, and I'd like to have people I really trust read it. (One of my older friends wrote a movie script back when he was younger, and it was stolen and turned into a successful project by a friend. Not cool.) This would be a huge help!
