Why are you trying to get rid of them? is there not enough algae in your tank? if i knew you in real life i'd say i'd take tem because i love their shells and keep them in my old betta tank that is currently unoccupied, and getting overrun with algae, even though i put my black mystery snail in there.

O.O

My minnow pretty much devoured the snails in my dad's tank within a day.. how big are trumpet snails? Because large minnow love to eat them.

Mine are all still small right now, about 1 centimeter, but they can grow up to about an inch long. I got a loach to eat them, but it seems perhaps the shells of the trumpet snails are just too hard. They are difficult to crush with your fingers. I don't want to get any minnows. Maybe I will try getting assassin snails again.

Alright. If you need to though, getting minnow should get the job done. Good luck c:

----

I lost two glass cats and two guppies. One guppy looked sick from the start, and she was an extra I didn't pay for. I'm surprised about the male though.. he had a nick in his tail then he just died. Another female (my favourite) looks a bit off, I hope she gets over it. The others look good though.

My last glass cat ate. He might make it, even though he is alone.

I would like to get rid of them because they out-competed the ramshorn snails I used to have for food. I don't have an algae problem, just a few diatoms and I get quite a build-up of hair algae over time. But the trumpets don't eat the hair algae anyway. The ramshorns did, but the hair algae didn't grow fast enough for them, but the trumpets would eat all the food I gave to them, because they are much faster. The trumpets also breed like guppies and the only way I have of keeping their numbers under control, is by removing as many as I can when they climb on the glass. I miss my ramshorns. ;_;

2 striped Raphael catfish

So, do you think this is stocked or could I add a few more tetras?

35 gallon:
The two catfish I said
8 flame tetras
2 head and tail light tetras
2 angelfish (babies)

Anyone?

I'm sory, i really didn't know that. to me a snail is a snail. i just can't keep my last mystery in my golfish tank for over a week at a time, because the goldfish will kill it like they did with my larger mystery snail that was the size of a walnut. i haven't had an issue with hair algae yet, though. ramshorns are colorful snails.

but i have had issues with a sponge/cotton like stuff that grows on plants, but either my pleco or my snail has eaten that. i hope you have better luck with your snails. you could put them all in one tank and see if a pet store will take them, even if its not to sell.

Unfortunately, they are hard to catch so catching all of them to take to a pet store is just not possible. They reproduce so fast, then they burrow into the gravel and hide on the plants and driftwood.
