Grow slow!

Spreading the growths is good - now I don't feel the need to come here when I know that none of the newborns grew and all of the "old" pets are adults. When they grow slower, I would come more frequent to see if they grew or not.

edit: I just thought of some "special pets" which would grow for 2 or 3 months. Some kind of special release...

I am happy as long as something grows each day. It doesn't have to just be the dogs that grow slow. As long as we get a new growth about everyday, it would keep interest in the growths. Those days without growths are kind of slow.

Some people might be impatient when you first try this, because it will seem like their pets are taking an absolute age to grow, but a few months down the line, when there is a continuous staggered growth it will be a much better system. As you said, the first week after adopting pets, nothing happens and the forums get filled with speculative chatter.
I think it's a great idea to have the growths spread out.

Also - I think recently people have been spoiled. That's not a complaint - it's been fabulous - but there have been a lot of special events (Easter, Valentines, St.Patrick's day, etc.), so there have been more growing pets around than normal, and I think people have come to expect something to grow every day. From a purely business point of view, that's likely to be unsustainable in the long term, so it makes a lot of sense for you to gradually get players used to a slower growth rate.

I don't think it would be tough to do a growth everyday. If you think about all the different kind of pets we get each month, we surely have 30-31 growths each month. Horses, BW's, rats, cats, dogs, Malks when she comes back, etc. And most of those have 2 stages at least. I'm not saying an adult each day, just a growth each day.

I don't really mind, just as long as they do grow, even if it's slow or fast. =)

Personally I like it the way it is. It allows me to have my pets from the previous groups out of my nursery and sorted before the next month rolls around. Therefore, my nursery is open and ready to accept newborns again without having a million "growing" groups at a time. If they were longer growths, it would be much harder for me to keep everything sorted by months.. if that makes any sense what so ever.

I agree that some pets should grow slower than others. It's good to have some pets grow within the first week, more grow during the second, etc. It makes us actually able to watch something for the whole month, rather than just watch all pets grow within the first 2 weeks, and be bored for the rest of the month. So, yes, I think it would be better if pets grow at different speeds, so that there is stuff happening throughout the whole month

However, I also disagree because people will get bored waiting for the pups to grow; I believe that all pets should grow up before the next month arrives, so that we have something new to watch. So, overall, I think that pets should grow up at different times, but not over a month.

THis is what I meant... I don't mind them growing at different times.. but each month should grow its own pets. Why can't some of them just grow really fast to fill in the dead space between one month and the next? THat way we still have pets throughout the month, but yet our plate is clean and ready as it currently is for the next month. Cheers to diamondpals!
