OK so please read this carefully before voting. It's a little hard to explain xD
In the early days of CS the pets were slower growing than they are now - it might take a dog up to 15 or more days to reach puppy stage, and up to 40 days (or more) to reach adult stage. Nowadays, it is much more common for all dogs to have reached adult stage before reaching 30 days of age (usually hitting pup stage around 10 days)
The problem with the faster growth speed is that when a new month starts, all the previous month pets have finished growing and we all sit around anxiously waiting for the new pets to start growing. (case in point, the june discussion thread, where we all sat around discussing the newborns for about 70 pages over 6 or 7 days with nothing else going on)
I'm proposing here that we could slightly revert to the old system, with a few (not all) litters for the month set to 'slow growth' so that they may hit pup stage at at least day 15 and adult stage beyond day 31 so that we have more staggered growths - continuing throughout the whole month.
This way, the first few days of the new month will have us still eagerly awaiting a few straggling adult growths rather than sit around waiting 8 days or so for the newborns etc to start growing.
We will still have some litters which grow at the current speeds, so the growths will just be more spread out overall.
If you understand what I'm suggesting, please vote in the poll, and leave your thoughts/suggestions here.

I agree that some pets should grow slower than others. It's good to have some pets grow within the first week, more grow during the second, etc. It makes us actually able to watch something for the whole month, rather than just watch all pets grow within the first 2 weeks, and be bored for the rest of the month. So, yes, I think it would be better if pets grow at different speeds, so that there is stuff happening throughout the whole month

**EDIT:::
However, I also disagree because people will get bored waiting for the pups to grow; I believe that all pets should grow up before the next month arrives, so that we have something new to watch. So, overall, I think that pets should grow up at different times, but not over a month.
Thanks

As a player, I think spreading out the growths across the month is a wonderful idea.
Putting my Mum-hat on, I'd say that my little one would enjoy seeing new growth most days.
Win-Win from us!

yeahh. I think it's important that different pets grow at different times so we can be excited the whole month for new growths (: that'll keep us busy for each month.
EDIT: however, if it is something like some 2nd gens, or pets that aren't released monthly, then I think it is perfectly fine for them to take a longer time to grow. There probably wouldn't be a new litter or set within a month, so keeping us excited is mandatory.

I understand why you don't want to wait
longer than a month for pets to grow, but the problem with keeping the evenly-spread pets all
within a month is that we'd have to make newborns grow up super early to get growths in the first few days of the month if it wasn't just a continuation of last months adults. And I don't really like making the newborns reach puppy stage within a few days, cause it ruins all the suspense and speculation as to what the newborns will turn into. I'd rather have it so that it was adults popping up in those first few days, and that you'd still wait approx. 8 days to start seeing the newborns grow, you'd just be entertained by the other stuff happening in the meantime.
But anyways, we'll see how the poll goes and we can always have a few trial runs over several months to see how it goes

I understand that it will be hard to make all those pets in time for the next month, I feel the same way sometimes as well. It is a little awkward for a pet adopted in June to grow in July though XD I actually prefer when the dogs get to their adult stage at the end of the month (at 28 days or so) and the rats the second slowest to grow up (there are only 2 stages), the horses/ponies/butterfly wolves being the first to grow up. It is OK for a pet to grow up within a 40 day limit, I think that is a fair amount

But of course, you being the site admin, the choice is completely yours, and thanks for letting us users express our thoughts!
EDIT*** (bahh I keep forgetting things!!!!) It is hard to decide though; both sides have pros and cons. My new line of Diamond Pups are also going to be growable, but I can't decide whether to make them grow fast or slowly. True, the staff will have to fish out more time to draw the growths, but if pets take too long to grow, it will give staff an advantage, but many users will get bored waiting. I would be happy to wait though; staff spend too much time and effort to make the beautiful pets we have today. I applaud you <3
