They say there are parallel worlds, where everything's the same, but a little different. They say it's very difficult to slide between these worlds. They say the Internet is the only way to fall into a parallel universe.
They're right.

It was just like any other day. Was. Jasmine walked from the bus to her house, checked the mail, unlocked the door, disabled the alarm dropped the mail on the table, her book bag on her bed, fired up the computer and logged on to Chicken Smoothie. She was in a new role play about parallel universes, and was looking foreword to her next post. She clicked the role play. A fix, a pop and BAM! Nothing. No lights, no power. The sun wasn't shining, the world wasn't spinning, Jaz wasn't breathing or blinking. Her mind was working triple time. Then a mechanical hum, and everything worked again. Jasmine slumped onto her desk. "Oh my gosh, what happened?" She wondered, sitting back up. Her computer was back on. Most people would just dismiss the past few minutes as a power outage, or medical symptom. Jaz was smarter. She emptied out her book bag and packed into it a couple things. Laptop, toothbrush, etc. Her room was the same, but... But something was off. The color of the wall was a shade off, her desk was a few inches in the wrong place, the books were in the wrong order... Hard to put your finger on what was wrong, but Jaz knew something was wrong. The air buzzed with new energy. She ran to the kitchen and dumped a bunch of food and blankets into the back back and headed out the door. Something had happened, and she was going to find out.

Jasmine shot out of the house. A quick glance affirmed the street layout was similar, if not exactly the same. Her black hair whipping in the wind, she sprinted down the sidewalk. The street was deserted. An eerie silence wrapped itself around her. She looked up. Stopped. Stared. Thousands of people were racing through the air on motorized wheelchairs, in complete silence. It was like watching a movie on silent. No one noticed the confused, staring, slightly-freaked-out girl breathing hard below them. Jaz knit her eyebrows. Chicken Smoothie had gotten her here, and by Gosh it was going to get her back. Surely there was an Internet café somewhere where she could log in. An old man was cruising along the sidewalk. "Sir!" Jasmine called out. The syllable echoed around the street,bouncing off buildings and distorting until it faded away. The man didn't look up. She ran over to him. "Sir!" She said louder, thinking he was deaf. Her voice blended into something more grotesque the louder she spoke. He continued driving. Jaz determinedly planted herself in front of him. "All right, what's up? Stop the joke. I need directions to a cyber-café." The man drove right into her shins. "£@#%!" Jasmine cursed as she bent over her bruised legs. "Child?" A quavering, ancient voice whispered. Jaz looked up. The old man's eyes sought her face. "Child? What do you want?" She knelt on the sidewalk and grasped his outstretched hand gently. "Sir, I need to find an Internet Café." He chuckled softly. "An Internet cafe? My dear, those were out of date when I was young!" An icy finger ran down Jasmine's back. She gripped his dry hand a little harder. "Sir, I need one!" She said desperately. He smiled. "A cyber-café. What a ridiculous idea. The only possible place a cyber café would still be in buissnes would be the South Slums...." His gaze fixed ahead and he withdrew his hand. Starting his motor, he chuckled again. "An Internet café. What a joke!" He was gone. But Jasmine had the information she needed. The South Slums. Squaring her shoulders, she placed the setting sun on her right and started walking.

{Chapter Three}

An hour later Jasmine held out her hand. Squinting, she could almost make out the dark shape a few inches in front of her nose. She sighed. Turning off the sporadically lighted street, Jaz found a heating vent in an ally between two towering buildings. Pulling out a blanket, she sat on an old piece of cardboard. Everything was so confusing! As well as she could figure, Jaz had galled through a crack in the time-space continuum, which had dragged her through to a parallel universe when she clicked on her role play on chicken smoothie. The only thing the teen could think to do was find an Internet café, log on and see what the chicken smoothie here was like. She shuddered to think there might not be one. Lying down, Jasmine knew she had to sleep, but her brain was going at a million miles an hour. Finally, drifting off, she had one thought. "Why me?"

I love it. Keep writing, you have great talent.
My Tumblr
I've decided it's time to move on, and so I've quit CS. It's been a good three years, but, well, as of May 2014, I don't think I'll be coming back. I'd like to say thank you, to all of you. Thank you for encouraging me, inspiring me, and being my friends. I've had so much fun, but this is the end. Seeing as this is my last visit, I've changed my username back to the original, Rebel Faery. It's a name that I no longer go by, but a name I'll always remember. I'm so sorry to every fan of TIAJNAD, to everyone that read my writing, to, well, everyone. But it's time to move on. To make like Elsa and let it go. (I was still on CS when Frozen came out. It feels like so long ago.)
let it go, let it go, and I'll rise like the break of dawn
let it go, let it go, that perfect girl is gone
here I'll stand, and here I'll stay
let the storm rage on
the cold never bothered me anyway
