*sigh* Maybe next year?

I've been dieing to go for 5 years. Every single year, my mom says these exact words: 'Breyers are a waste of time.'

My parents are actually semi-supportiveish. Mom likes them and dad tolerates IF I get them with my own money x3

Same [to a small degree]. My mom agrees with my stepdad no matter what, and he's the one who originally says no. He just doesn't say it to my face, so it makes him look better [according to him XD]. My mom's the one who got me a shelf though. X3 [also her idea to pick up zenny for x-mas.]

I love my Breyers but they always break. Does anyone else find this annoying?

{••Do you play with them? Because most breyers cost a pretty penny and aren't really supposed to be played with. Or are they stablemates? I have stablemates that I do occasionally mess with, but I don't touch my bigger ones unless I'm cleaning... ••}

I've only had three occassions where I've had my Breyers break on me... four if you count the one that came to me broken.
One was a stablemate when I was younger. I stepped on his leg and it snapped off.
My Brighty fell off a shelf and broke his leg and my Afleet Alex also fell off a shelf and his tail snapped off.
But that's it.
Considering that I've been collecting Breyers seriously for upwards of eight years, I'd say I've had a pretty good run.

They aren't really meant to be played with, especially the traditional models.

I had my etchie fall of a shelf and break 2 legs and his tell, but I got them repaired by someone amazing and I can hardly tell anymore! ^^ (Yeah, be careful with those customs!)
Otherwise, they've all been stablemates falling from shelves except for my poor unfortunate Kuchi who chipped his (yes his) ear oddly after a mirror fell while I was packing for the move. I guess that's pretty lucky~

ANYWAY, I got $125 in Christmas money and want to spend it on Breyers! I know Northern Dancer is out at my local tack store, and he is awfully tempting. But what else should I get??

I haven't had any problems with my breyers breaking, I normally keep the in this stable yard I made last year but they are all on my shelves now, and my sunny model that has a warped leg is lay down on a blanket wit a rug on so she doesn't fall over. All I ever get is rubs and scratches :)

When I was little I was silly and played with mine :3 Luckily I only suffered two breaks, a filly chipped her ear and a mare broke her leg just below the hock. No scratches or other chips or breaks though, so I guess I'm lucky^^

Got Northern Dancer and Noche Buena just now. Hopefully they'll both be worthy of showing this spring ^^

Now for the sad thing. I went to the tack shop to get Dancer, and saw Rein Maker for $40. I was in love with him until I looked over and saw three huge gloss stains or something on his flank. It looked like someone spilled coffee on him ;n;

I have a glossy set and am in love with them. If you can afford it, I do recommend the gloss as they pop more, but the matte is equally stunning <33
