Ametye turned around, a sharp turn that had Vesta and Quaint hanging horizontal to the tree tops. Vestas stomach lurched and her eyes grew wide as she was thrown to the side, she grasped the spike in front of her with sweaty palms, hoping she wouldn't be impaled on it.

Quaint growled and hung on to his own spike, his stomach forcing it's way into his mouth. However he couldn't say he didn't enjoy the thrill of it all. Alright scaly. Feel free to land anytime soon.

Ametye grumbled at Quaint, dropping down he crouched so Vesta could get off easily. Vesta hopped off and landed on her toes, she hugged Ametyes leg thanks she itched the skin under his scales.

Quaint dropped to the ground as stealthy as a cat and threw himself on the grass, belly down. He wiggled out his pocket watch, looked at it, and then at the dark woods before him. 'AH HA!'

Vesta looked at Quaint, she walked over and mugged his ribs with her foot. "What are we 'AH HA'-ing about" she asked lying on the grass beside him

Shh! Quaint waved her away distractedly, he got up abruptly like a jack-in-the-box to squad over a patch of earthy grass. He picked a blade and licked it. Look in the corner of your eye and what do you see?

Vesta grimaced when Quaint licked the grass. He was a cat though... Pretty much, Vesta looked straight ahead, focusing on nothing and just stared for a moment. "What am I supposed to see?" She asked out loud, only seeing some dust motes.

He ate the grass rolling the taste around in his mouth. Dust. He replied as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Black dust. The shadow is leaving a deadly trail of wee little ones in it's wake. Of cause he left out the part that the Shadow was not the only rogue creature from his realm in forest anymore.

Vesta focused a little less, starting to notice that the dust motes where a dark shade, greys and coal blacks. "Are we going to follow it?" She asked, sitting up and walking to Ametye to sit on his leg, but deciding to adjust the saddle instead. Just so it sat a lot better, she checked to make sure nothing was broken and then checked again, no spike punctures or scale burns.

Cause not! There is no need. He sat back on his hunches gesturing to Ametye. The shadow will be able to sense him anywhere within 30 miles, not to mention me.
