Echostar suddenly snapped out of the blurry world she had been in. "What? Lead me there now Shadowfeather, Splashingriver get the medicine cat!" she shouted. "Rushingkit, stay to the side of the den, so no one trips over you okay?" All the commands came naturally as she fought to keep her Clanmate. She padded into the den and lightly licked Dreamlight's head. "Can you hear me?" she whispered, placing a paw on her forehead. "She's warm still."

Shadowfeather nodded, she bounded over to the body.

Rushingkit felt so sad. His paws led him swiftly out of camp, soon becoming a run.

"Dreamlight?" she kneaded the she-cat's chest lightly for a moment. "I can't tell what's wrong..."

Shadow feather bent down "Oh no. She's not breathing regularly." she explained. Shadowfeather sat down "without a medicine cat, she's going to die." she added.

Rushingkit wept, he wanted to be curled in his warm den, lined with moss. He kept going, walking on rocks so it was impossible to leave a scent.

Frantically, Echostar glanced around behind her. "Where is Hazelvine???!!!!" she fretted, her tail whisking furiously.

Shadowfeather gasped "Ohhhhhhh nooooooooooo, Rushing kit's gone!" she moaned.

[dr. pugs]

Echostar's eyes widened. "I told her to stay..." She sighed and then said, "Do you think you can find her, and fast?" she asked Shadowfeather as she kneaded Dreamlight's chest lightly, to keep her breath coming.

Shadowfeather nodded but as she left a large tree fell across the entrance, she hissed painfully and it crushed her paw.

Rushing kit heard the bang and sped back. She began scratching at the wood, remembering what her mother had told her if she got hurt. "Echostar!" she shouted "Can you see any dock leaves?" she asked.

Echostar was surprised by the kit's knowledge, but she too knew it was correct as she bounded into the medicine den and grabbed a mouthful of the bitter leaves, darting back to Shadowfeather. "Rushingkit, do you know what to do, or shall I do it?" she asked the kit, quietly.

Rushing kit scrabbled at the tree trunk "Rub them on her chest, the open her moth and tilt her head to clear her airways." explained the kit.

Shdowfeather eventually shoved the tree out of the way. She tilted her head back as Rushing kit had instructed.
