Darkkit mewls and looks at his mother. A dark tortoiseshell she-cat with brilliant green eyes and a thick, yet sleek and beautiful pelt. Darkkit looked over his paws, then his own pelt and tail. He looked exactly like his mother and siblings! Darkkit felt himself lifted from the ground and mewled, but looked up and saw it was his mother and relaxed.

With a bounding leap the lithe tabby cat seemed to fly over the thin river. Only her hind paw coming in contact with the water. Songbird flashed a boastful look to the apprentices on the patrol, "And that, my dear clanmates, is why I am named SongBird." The younger cats snorted at her silent challenges. "psh! I could do that any time I wanted!" Her long and skinny tail twitched, a sound of slight amusement coming from her. The gesture suggested that the apprentice try. Without another noise a pure white apprentice took several steps back, only pausing to flex his hind claws. As Songbird had predicted, the cat was silly enough as to actually try. For starclan's sake, he hadn't even grown into his own paws and he expected to make such a jump? It didn't matter however, for the apprentice took a mad dash towards the water, at the last moment leaping off the ground. Only to crash into the river halfway, causing an uproar of laughter from all of the cats watching as he swam out of the water, soaked to the skin.
