Mollies are community fish, so I think they should be fine.

How many guppies are good in a ten gallon? And the ratio of males to females should be what? I was thinking eight, five females and three males, and possibly two female mollies.

Also: Reading about the beta problem, I think I can take that advice too. My beta has had a nasty case of fin rot for a while, it comes on and off. The aquarium might need more plants too.. where can I buy silk plants? I find live ones hard to grow and often just messy. He's in a 1.5 gallon bowl.

You would be over stocked with just the 8 guppys in a 10g, also mollies are bigger then guppies and require a larger tank then a 10g if you want to have afew of them
You could probably do 5-6 guppies but maybe go with all male or all female so they won't breed

I want them to breed c: Not to keep, but I enjoy getting to see guppy fry. The ones I can't keep I'll give to friends. I was also interested in getting some mollies as I've seen the molly X guppy hybrids, and they look interesting.

Has anyone else here have a hybrid fish? I'm curious as to how it is possible that another cichlid in my other tropical tank had appeared (and this had happened twice after i gave the bully cichlids to a friend). i'm thinking it was one of the kissing gouramis, but i'm not entirely convinced.

Oh and does anyone have experiene with Bichers?

Thank you ^-^

I heard that you should have a 2 female:1male ratio would that not apply since I would only have the two males?

Best test kit ever. I have it, far more accurate than strips and easy to use. It lasts quite awhile too. Totally worth the money.

I was looking on line about keeping a betta with cories.
I came across someone who said, "I'm pretty sure goldfish go well with bettas."
>.>
And they also suggested keeping guppies and other fish that would just usually end in failure.
Just...

Got all the fish, only 2 casualties (one BN and 1 young blue eye cichlid ) we are setting up the tanks now, good thing is it should already be cycled as we are keeping all the media and the tanks were only drained just before it was picked up, just researching all the different needs of all fish as it came with pots for some to breed and shells and some of the tanks have sand while some have fine gravel and acouple have bigger gravel so trying to figure out what to put where, I have mad a list and sofar there are 3 empty tanks

One of the albino longfin BN is huge! I love him already
I think I have all the types of fish figured out bar one which doesnt look like its on the list he gave us...

How many tanks do you have: Two at the moment. One 40L and one 80L. Saving up for a 180L though. ^^
Type of fish that you have: Ten cardinal tetras, two black mollies, two blind cave fish, five guppies, one betta and finally a swordtail female with her three lil' fries.
Your fish's names: My betta's name is Robert, I suppose it was a bit of a joke in the start but in the end I just decided to stick with it. c:
How long have you had fish: A few months now. So I'm a bit of a beginner. :P

Pictures; The only 'camera' I have is a phone so the pictures are kinda crappy.

http://i48.tinypic.com/2vkj9r8.jpg From my 80L, no need to worry about the betta, he's getting along fine with the rest of the tank, I even held him with my guppies once without any damage done.

From my 40L; http://i45.tinypic.com/hs2k9h.jpg
