Tristen looked at Pearl in shock. "But... I thought..." I thought she was mute...! He slowly wrapped her arm, staring at her face in surprise.

she nodded. "I...know....I don't....talk.......that....often....." she said weakly. Due to not speaking in a long time her voice was cracking. She winced holding back tears and sighed looking around the room

Tristen took a deep breath. "Well..." His mouth broke into one of his rare grins. "Guess maybe you should make it a habit?" he said, trying to make a joke.

She shook her head her hand shaking. She was scared that she even said a word and it showed. Looking around she looked back at him in the eye blinking

Tristen's grin faded. Augh... That was horrible... Why do I even bother? He took Pearl's hand, looking at her with concern. "Hey," he said gently, "are you alright?"

"No.....I..I. was...... abused so much......... at school I felt like........ why should I ever speak again......This is the first time in 3, 4....... years I have even spoken other than singing." She explained and knew one thing. she was planning on going back to being mute

Tristen tried to comfort Pearl, seeing she was upset. "Pearl... It's okay..." He gave her a small hug. "It'll be alright..." Gosh, I hope I didn't upset her...
