Advent Discussion Thread 2012 - RULE UPDATE, PLEASE READ

I have tons I like this year, the lions and ALL the cats, the Maneki-neko dog, but these three are my absolute favorites:

Come to think of it, why was it a maneki-neko dog instead of a cat? XD Wouldn't it have made more sense if a cat lineart had been used? Because if it's a dog, then it's kind of a maneki-inu now, isn't it?

Yeah the Maneki-inu-neko is definitely one of my favorite advent pets this year <3
If it had to be a cat, though, I'd say it would fit best on the old warrior cats lineart =3

But I like it as a dog for sure, it fits the lineart in a strange way X3

I love those little stars on her back, and those colors. She even seems to glow <3


Well, I do love PPS cats... and the edits on this one are phenomenal. Those eyes <3


Speaking of PPS cats, I love this little guy. The whole litter was really well done, really.


The boldness and simplicity of this dog are just... I love them. I love flop ears, and the curly tail just adds to the Peppermint Panda's awesomeness <3


I don't think anyone dislikes these, to tell the truth. Even lion-haters[which I hope there aren't any of on here...] are forced to tremble beneath the frostiness of these two. The snow in the background is adorable, and their snow-lion appearance just makes them so epic. Some of my ultimate favorites this month <3


Butterfly wolves are my favorite species on here, and I've always dreamed to have a husky. And the blended effect and color choice are just to die for. So naturally, I would love this pet.


I can't even imagine a year where I didn't make gingerbread at home. This year I made four batches of about 22ish each, and we still have some to decorate. I love how they stay simple and similar, yet are so unique and you can't look at them together and think even for a second, "wait- how are those different?"

I really love the design on this horse, and the little snow flurries. The whole litter was amazing, but this was my fav. c: The swirl up the front leg really did it for me, and the blurry specks on the rear added a nice touch.


This bwolf litter just caught my eye from the caterpillar stage, the peppermint one especially. The way the red fades in such a bold way I just love. I really like the icing on the truffle like one's back and tail, and the chest being a different color is nice too. The sugarplum bwolf looks like she's been splatter painted, and like the peppermint one, the way the purple is faded but in such a straight line and so boldly catches your eye right away, and the shades of purple are just so majestic and beautiful. The sugarcookie/gingerbread wolf has a significant star on his back when you first look, of course. The speckled browns really gives the effect of a cookie. All in all, this was a really nice bwolf litter and I hope to see some like it soon. Oh ya, I really like the wings used.


Since I love the PPS of this cat, the GUPPS is the same thing, just in adult form. The design was really well transferred, too c:
The only thing I don't like, although it's with all GUPPS, is that the adult is the exact same as the PPS, just in a different lineart. Most CS pets change when they grow, they usually don't just have their design copy&pasted onto an adult lineart. Oh well, I still really like this cat.


These guys were my inspiration to try out making real peppermint bark this year. [It didn't turn out perfectly layered and stuff, but yummy nonetheless.] The little hidden shapes, like the heart on the red horse's rear, are adorable; the striped manes and tails and hooves are pretty cute too. I love how the peppermint exploded from the leg and shattered all over the body c:

I tried to make it short. I really did. But there's too many awesome pets from this advent, and I really must thank all the staff, especially the artists, for doing the Advent every year and bringing us more and more wonderful pets every single day. I hope everyone had a happy holidays, and I wish you a happy New Year!

This one had to be my favourite this year, mostly because I need luck and I hope it can bring me some
Overall, the event was absolutely lovely, and all the designs were amazing

Just curious, but how rare do you think that Rudolph kitten is going to be? I'm tempted to trade the one I got, but I do also want to have a complete collection of advent pets (which I currently have). Not sure if it's worth it to trade it and then look for one later when demand dies down, or if it's going to end up being pretty rare :T

I don't think they're any rarer than the others reindeer cats; I think they're all the same rarity. They'll probably be a bit somewhat harder to get though because demand-wise more people want them and are hoarding them.

Actually I *do* think it is rarer. More people seem to be missing it. I was pretty convinced they were the same rarity at first too because I got one and a lot of the people I know had spares.

But after watching the thread a few days no I am not so sure anymore.

Never seen it. I'm German and I can tell you our trees do not look like this

Maybe it was "in" in the past though.
