She was aware of someone's eyes on her back; she could feel the almost tickling sensation that someone was watching her. Why, she didn't know.

"I wish it were me," she told her Apprentice softly, "you have only just begun your Apprenticeship. You shouldn't have to have fought so hard to protect yourself. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you Flamepaw, I feel like I've already failed you,"

She offered a sad smile.

"I would spill my blood to protect you young ones. You're the next generation of the Clan; you and the other Apprentices must keep our Clan alive in moons to come,"

She glanced to whomever was watching her out of the corner of her eye, and she flushed again when she realised it was Darkpelt that she locked eyes with.

She flushed darker, and looked back to Flamepaw, her tongue numb in shyness.

Darkpelt silently observed the transactions between Bluetail and her apprentice. He became aware of the fact that her fur instinctively began to prickle as he watched on. Suddenly he was staring eye-to-eye with the she-cat, noting that her ears began to turn the same pink color like before. He narrowed his pale yellow eyes as she turned away quickly, as if stealing a peek at him was something very wrong. He rose sturdily to his paws, looking for a moment when he could approach her and find out what the big deal was. He rolled his shoulders while he waited, his muscles rippling under a sleek brown tabby coat.
