Hey Belldandy. C: I use sai.
There was a art program discussion a little while ago, and since it wasn't listed I thought I'd mention Firealpaca. It's a free program which I haven't used much, but I loved what I saw - it's like a mix between Sai and photoshop, nice layout and features. I'd definitely suggest it if you want something better than gimp but don't want to spend money.

@Rose
<3; SAI was alittle hard for me to use when I used my mouse. I always thought Oekaki was more simple for me. Q u Q Then again, I only recently started using SAI
@Devarsi
What's your favorite tool to color? I like the water color tool to shade. Q u Q So easy to blend
And I'll definitely check that out!
@Lark

Belldandy: I use airbrush to colour, watercolour to shade. I tend to stick with those two tools for everything, though, I really need to explore the other tools, like acrylic.
Wolff.: Nice. C: There seems to be a little bit of shading outside the lines in places, though. I personally wouldn't shade a ref at all, since it's easy to mistake shading and markings.
Could I get advice on shading fur, especially on white? I painted over an old picture as practice, but it's looking pretty choppy, especially on the white, and the places with shorter fur like the legs and sides. I've only done this twice, but hopefully I can get it to look better.
