Regardless of whatever season it is, the settlement for the Elementals remains the same. The legend of these people living in the treetops is true - it protects them from the beasts on the ground and the dark night predators that feed off human flesh. They all prowl the ground, unable to climb trees, so the canopy and the branches of the strong structures are their only escape, and so they have built an entire settlement that defies gravity, with shelter, light, food, and all the luxuries of weapons, comfortable beds, and so on. Candlelight and fires are provided from the fire Elementals, and water is provided from the water Elementals, and an entire range in between.

A long time ago, everyone was normal and human, everyone lived equally. Then simultaneously, nuclear power plants across the globe exploded. This covered every country on every continent in a fine layer of ash and yes, radiation. A few select human beings that were wearing special pendants at the time were affected by the radiation - or more specifically, the radiation that transformed their necklaces, while most of the rest died off, leaving a few survivors and stragglers to leave and build their own settlements in barren and hard places. However, with the realization of the mutations in the humans (no one could tell that it was the pendants), it led to the feeling of inequality and unfairness, and so, the Anomalies, who are most commonly known as the Elementals, were cast off from the rest of the world, left to fend from themselves with no mercy from the normal human beings. However, they all soon realized that the reason they had these powers were because of their necklaces, where fine sprinkles of radiation had transformed them and given them the ability to then give whatever human that wore them powers. Each Vida Pendant was specific to the one particular person that they were on first, and will remain that way. A side effect of the Pendants was immortality, and the inability to age. This is why these young people have been around for so long and still look like teenagers. The Elementals took refuge in a place where there were large trees, high above the ground. For with the mutation of humans, there was also the mutation of animals, and they grew into humongous beasts, bloodthirsty and flesh eating, feeding off anything they can find with flowing blood. They prowl the ground, their claws digging into the decaying leaves of the trees, while the Elementals take refuge above the ground, high up in the treetops where they know they will be safe. Of course, however, sometimes with living in the sky there is always the enemy of gravity, and more than once someone has fallen down to the forest floor, where their death awaits them. They are not allowed to be seen by any normal human being, and they do not want to either. In addition to their anger at the normal human race, their necklaces are also highly sought after for power. The most unusual and uncomfortable way to live, they will tell you, but it is safer. Much, much safer. And no one (at least, not yet) knows that they still exist.

As the most commonly known natural elements, Fire, Earth, Water, and Air are what most legends talk about. But with the mutation of humans to develop the powers of these four main elements, there were also further mutations and developments from the radiation, and therefore there are also what is known as the mutated Elementals. Further developed from the main elements and therefore evolve new powers that have not been yet heard of. There are a variety of these Elementals living in the trees, and they are all treated equally, bound together by their hatred for the normals and their distrust of everything around them except for themselves and their own kind. Each Elemental must have their Vida Pendant around their neck at all times in order to possess and reach their full power. In the wrong hands, the Vida Pendant could spell out another war for the earth. It is the highest treasure that any Elemental can have.

The Fire Elemental Fire is an important factor in the society and is one of the main elements. It is used for both destruction and nourishment of life. As it is one of the main elements, there must be a sense of leadership, but there is always a sense of leadership amongst all the Elementals, with no inequality to the main ones and the mutated ones.

The Water Elemental Water is needed for life. It's a law, in fact. The element of water is probably one of the most important ones, for without water there is no food, and no healing, and no birth or growth of life. It is also one of the main elements, but the further mutations include the Poison Elementals and the Blood Elementals.

The Earth Elemental The Elementals would have never been able to live up in the trees without the Earth elementals. Though sometimes they may be overlooked, they are needed for foundation, and not to mention weapons and protection. They are the hardiest and strongest physically, and most often mentally as well.

The Air Elemental Air might be the most underestimated main element of all - no one thinks that it is strong or useful. However, it is needed when fire goes out of control, where mother nature starts to act up and to extinguish light when needed. It might not be needed all the time, but it is there to keep the balance between the elements and nature and so forth.

The Lightning Elemental As a mutation of Fire, it is very hot and heated. Lightning is hotter than the sun itself, and is very deadly when used to its full potential. It's mainly used for weaponry and making tools to kill, as well in combat. The person possessing the power is very very dangerous and must be levelheaded and able to control his or herself.

The Light & Shadow Elemental The ability to control what you see in the light and in the dark is also quite powerful. It is a mutation of air and fire together, and it requires a deep understanding of the cycle of the moon and the sun. Whoever has this power controls the light emitted from the moon, from the sun, and can cause an eclipse, as well as maintaining and controlling normal lights. It cannot, however, control fire, or lightning, or anything else. Shadows and light can also be bent to create shapes and so forth.

With power comes destruction, and with destruction comes the arrival of enemies. Enemies that want the power of the Elementals, or more commonly known as the Hunters. Their official name is the Element Hunters, and they ride on the beasts that have eaten and inhaled radiation and transformed themselves without facing death. They ride on the backs of the hairy, fierce creatures and adorn themselves with weapons like swords, knives, arrows, and so forth. What they are after are the necklaces around each and every Elemental, the necklaces that - in the wrong hands - can bring destruction to the world and arouse another war. They are hungry for power and will stop at nothing to rip the Vida Pendants from the throats of the Elementals. The only problem is that even though they possess weapons like arrows and bows, swords, shields, and spears, they are significantly less powerful than those who can control the elements and weaken them. They could be incinerated by the Fire Elementals, or drowned by Water. Buried alive by Earth or swept away in a tornado by Air. And that isn't even half the battle. The first half is actually finding the Elementals and seeing if they exist.

val's the name and
recklessness is my game.

Whatever situation you are in, Valencia will always demand you pronounce her name correctly. Therefore, this is how it sounds. Val-ens-ia. Of course though, with a name like that, her nickname would most obviously be Val. She doesn't mind either of them, but since teenagers nowadays are lethargic and seem to always find ways to shorten things, most call her Val. It's really only her parents and relatives and some certain friends that call her Valencia. She is, this year, 18 years of age and loving it. Her birthdate is April the 19th, in the year of do the math. She was born into Albea General Hospital in London, England, and she is British at heart, which is where her heavy accent comes from. Both her parents are dead from the war and that will never change. Her father's name was George Vivaldi and her mother's name was Carmen Armageddon. Put the two last names together along with the name of Valencia, and you get Valencia Vivaldi Armageddon. It's quite a long name, but Val rather likes the foreign-ness of it.

Valencia probably isn't the stereotypical "pretty" that you'd classify with a girl that was mainstreamly beautiful. Her looks are original in a rugged, abstract kind of way that she treasures. In fact, though Val does care about her self-image and looks, which at times, will pull her off as quite narcissist at times, but if you have the tolerance to stick around you'll soon realize that she puts many other values above her simple looks. But for now, let's talk about her physical attributes. For one thing, and she knows this very well, her eyebrows are a tad bit more defined than some people. They're more dominant, more visible, more seen. She likes them that way as she reckons it gives her a rather imposing and daunting look, which she likes to envision when she meets people. Of course though, there are other things on her face other than her eyebrows. For one thing, her eye color is one of the hues of blue. As she matured, she later on developed a short description for them, saying they were "the blue of the sky right before dusk." Some would say it was a dull color, but she likes to think of it as a quiet hue instead. Those who've met her and know her would know that they light up whenever she's excited or angry or feeling a strong emotion. Her body is slender, but she doesn't flaunt it like other girls. Yes, she wears revealing clothes at times due to her daring nature, but she will not just throw herself at a boy. She's proud of her body, and though at one point she was quite insecure and almost became anorexic and started worrying about how skinny she was, she's gotten over it and learned to just stay healthy and eat well. In addition to just her raw looks, she also has a few piercings on her ear - two on her right and one on her left. She switches on the earrings everyday. Her cheekbones are defined and high, her eyebrows are dominant, and her body is slender. However, now that she is an elemental, she also has an additional adornment, known as her Vida Pendant. A description of that will come later.

Wit and charisma are just as important to Val as looks or body shape. In fact, with picking and choosing acquaintances, she judges them with how they act and how friendly and charismatic they are. It has nothing at all to do with physical attractions, though with boys it's not a drawback at all. One will never make friends if one is vile and intolerant of others. That's her belief on personality versus looks. As for herself, if you had to pick one word to describe Valencia Vivaldi Armageddon, it would be reckless. There isn't even anything to describe her as if you had to do it all in one word. Impetuous, daring, bold. They all boil down to Valencia being reckless and reckless is what she is. Oh, she has a mind and a brain, and can perfectly think for herself, thank you very much. The matter is actually what she thinks and how she acts based upon her thoughts. If she is angry, there will be no hesitation to start swearing and throwing punches at the antagonist. If she wants to do something fun she'll leap over wires and disobey rules. However, she knows the line between being bold and being stupid. Often she crosses the line and pays for it later, but she'll do what her gut tells her to do, and if it tells her to slap that brat across her smug face then oh yes, she will do it. Her temper is not what defines Valencia though. It's her ability to have fun. Fun is one of the few things in life that she lives for, whether it be graffiti, breaking rules, or anything like that. It's practically what defines her and how she lives life. Detention? Oh, she's used to it. Getting in trouble? A regular thing. Anything that isn't fun? Not worth her time. Reckless and a daredevil, Valencia will always find a way to get you in trouble if you're with her. She even warns people beforehand, that if you're friends with her she will use her skills in persuasion and her never ending charisma to make you come along with her and break rules, and getting the consequences as well is thrown into the package.
She's quite the prankster as well. She likes to set things on fire, pour apple juice on someone in bed, steal things for fun, and much much more. To her, the possibilities of pranking are endless, and also fun, so that's good enough for her. She doesn't mind it when people prank her, though as long as it doesn't cross the line. Val is a tomboy, but she has a girlish attitude at times. She'll have All Girls nights, sleepovers, manicures, whatever. She doesn't like to stay within stereotypical boundaries because to her, that's just limiting your freedom. Her sense of style is quite out there - she can wear anything from ripped jeans to short skirts for a party and anything in between. Her sense of style will not be deterred by what everyone else is wearing. In fact, she will often try and wear the opposite of what is expected just to bring shock to people's faces. That's the type of reckless behavior you can expect from Valencia Vivaldi Armageddon. However, she knows the responsibilities of her power, and she will try and make sure her stupidity doesn't get in the way of the safety of the entire society of Elementals.

The history of Valencia is the normal type, minus the war. She doesn't really understand what the big deal is about a person's past. They've had good times, bad times, made mistakes and learned from them. Val understands what you have to learn from the past and the things that you've gotten wrong but she sees no need in dwelling on them. Learn, live, and forget the bad things. That's the only thing she has to say when someone starts to complain about something that happened a while ago. She doesn't really take nonsense about those types of things. But, if you must insist here is her history:
She was born in London, England, in the old world, and raised there as a child. She has quite the heavy British accent so don't be worried if you don't understand some of the words she says due to her accent. She'll clarify if you ask and doesn't get offended if you don't understand. You'll just have to hang around her more. At the age of six she learned how to ride and her family owns a farm on the moor, and at the age of sixteen she moved there to live by herself and the horses. She had quite the passion for riding, but you wouldn't know from when you first meet her. And it's obviously much much more difficult now, what with beasts prowling the ground and hunters after her Vida Pendant. Valencia, overall, was quite the opposite of herself, if that makes sense. She seems tomboyish but can be girly, she's reckless and does daring things but enjoys reading, art, and being quiet. Her personality is full of diversity, but that's not what we're here to talk about. She loved both her parents, and yes, they were quite wealthy if you must ask. Valencia might be rich but she doesn't act like it. You would have seen her wearing old clothes, baggy sweaters, and living anything but the rich life. She was very comfortable and is thankful for how healthy and well-off she is, but of course, no one could forsee what would happen later on. Her parents used to go over to the farm to check on her and make sure she was okay, but other than that she lived by herself, fends for herself, and loves the fact that she is by herself. Before the nuclear explosions, she had her own house, with a kitchen, a bedroom, bathrooms, a stable, and horses. Now, she lives in a rugged society full of power and deceit and however tough and rough she makes herself seem to be, she still gets nightmares at night.

The power of light and shadow is an important one, and Valencia knows that. She still doesn't understand why she, a reckless and impulsive girl, was gifted with the ability to control sight indirectly. No one can see properly in the dark, and extreme light can blind someone. In addition, she can bend shadows to her will, and the same with sun rays. Quite a formidable power, as she can also create eclipses and change the cycle of the moon at her will. It takes a lot of power, and it saps her energy reserves, but she has the potential and capability to extinguish the sun and the moon and the light emitted from the stars. Light is needed for the cycle of life and she has complete control over the cycle of day and night, the growth of everything that needs light, and so forth. It's scary and intimidating, and sometimes Valencia wishes that she wasn't the one chosen to be able to control both the light and the shadows, but eventually she came to accept that it happened and there's no going back.
Valencia's Vida Pendant is of great importance to her. The obvious reasons would be because it holds the mutation from the radiation that affected the world, and the less obvious would be because her parents gave it to her. It is a delicate Pendant. There is no gemstone, but it is made out of different shades of glass that shift every time you change your perspective on it. If you look at it from the top, it looks like in the very center there is a shadow, but around the edges there is a sharp golden line. It's simply a mixture and play with the light and it gives off the very colors that light and darkness would, the colors of day and night. What keeps it around her slender neck is a simple gold chain that is very elegant and old in its making. The Vida Pendant is of great value to her and she will do whatever it costs to keep any of the Vida Pendants away from the Hunters.

"You may be asking why my name means water while I am a Lightning element. I was a normal human once before and my name was chosen because of my eyes. Now that I am a lightning element, it may seem a tad bit weird. Well, anyways, you can call me Brooke or Brooklyn, I don't mind, either works. I was born on September 23rd, 1993 in Colorado's capital city, Denver.
You want me to explain to you what I look like? Well I guess I could do that.
My hair; long and blonde. Simple as that. It is naturally straight as well as blonde, though I do dye it every once in a while. It is also very thin so it is pretty easy to manipulate when it comes to curling, crimping and making it wavy. My eyes; steel silver. Some people think that my eyes are gorgeous, some think they are creepy and others think they are magical. Because my eyes are silver, they often change colors because of the reflections of my surroundings; when they do this, they usually look blue, green, hazel or some of them mixed. My skin is naturally light-tanned. In the summer time, I don't tan at all but in the winter time I don't loose my skin color. My height and weight are pretty average for my age, being 18 years, at 5'7'' and 115-125 pounds. Some people say that I should and need to gain weight and that me being so skinny isn't very healthy but I just ignore them. As for unnatural appearances on me, I have 8 piercings and 1 tattoo. Yes, I know it's a bit much but everyone goes through that phase with all the piercings, right? I have 2 piercings on my right ear on the Helix part, then I have 1 on my right ear lobe. On my left ear I have my cartilage pierced then 2 piercings on my earlobe. I also have 2 hip piercings. And for tattoos, as much as I would love to have one, I don't have any. And as for my Vida Pendant, mine is yellow, resembling the color of lightening of course."

"Some say that I have two sides; a bad side and a good side. I would blame it all on my element but you have to be honest, everyone have two sides whether they like it or not.
Honest; Honesty is everything right? Wrong. Yes, honesty can get you farther in situations but you can't depend on the truth when all the humans want you dead. Back in Colorado I was known for being a liar and I have to admit that I still am, somethings are best to just keep to yourselves than spread if with the world. If someone really wants me to be totally honest with them then I will be, whether it's with something they want to hear or don't want to hear. Open-Minded; Being open-minded is good when you are secluded from the world and only have a few others who you can speak freely to. Even before the nuclear explosion, when I was just a normal human, I was always open-minded when it came to new people. I find it hard and unfriendly to judge someone so quickly and block them from your life just because they are different or believe in something else. Loyal; I am very loyal to my friends, family and everyone else I know. I wont go stabbing them in the back and lying to them just because I want to. Yes, I said earlier how I do lie a bit but that's to strangers and only once in a while to friends when it's necessary. Brave; Well, when you are wanted dead by everyone in the world and have deadly creatures running around the floors of the forest, you kid of have to be a bit brave. I am not afraid to go further down on the tree and take a look at where the creatures are. Of course, I also have the ability to shock the to death if I really wanted so they are not something I fear. Deceiving; You may be thinking right now if what I have been acting like or telling you is the truth after seeing this trait and to be honest, yes, it is all true. I am only deceiving when I need or want something, you may also be thinking how wrong and cruel this is of me but hey, when you're wanted by the element hunters as well as humans, you do what you can to get food, shelter or anything you want. Untrustworthy; Yeah this one kind of mixes into the last one quite a bit. I am only untrustworthy when it comes to needing and wanting things. I'm being honest here, if you tell people too much of the truth then they start to use it against you, am I correct? Yes I am. That is why I.. even it out.. between being honest and lying. Once again, say what you'd like to about me but everyone needs a little lie here and there. Attitude; This one you had to be expecting. Every girl, no matter who it is, has an attitude. It's just something that us girls can't deal with. But sadly, in some cases, I get a bit.. dramatic and have a little too much attitude but what can you expect from someone who only has a small amount of people to socialize with. Arrogant; Sadly, I admit that I am a bit arrogant when it comes to thinking about others before myself. I do what I do to survive and if that means killing a bird, cooking it and eating it without sharing a scrap then that is what I will do. This may be an odd personality trait for me, saying that earlier I was open-minded. Well, i am both. My opinions are my opinions and I will usually go with them rather than someone else's opinions but that doesn't mean I wont listen to them and let them say what they want. Short-tempered; As a lightning element, this isn't something you should be surprised about. I tend to get a bit over my head in some situations and over think my opinions which set's off my temper. I do get mad easily but I try to handle it on my own so that no one else has to deal with getting shocked."

"So you want to know a bit about my past, do you? Well.. I suppose I can fill you in on the important stuff.
Well, as I said before, I was born sometime in the early 1900s on December 17th. You may be asking yourself why I only remember the day and not the year. The answer to that is because I am immortal, meaning that I will never die unless it's by someone on accident or purpose and to answer your question, if you were over a hundred years old then I'm sure you'd try to forget how old you really are, right? Anyways, I was born in the capital of Colorado, Denver. If you don't know if this city, it is big with at least a thousand companies crammed pack into the city. I guess you could say that us Coloradans have a bit of an accent but not as dramatic as others. While I was in Colorado I had learned to snowboard, ride horseback and all of the other things to do here in Colorado. After My Senior year, I went to Hawaii to attend college at the University of Hawaii but while I was there the nuclear explosion happened and that's when I obtained my elemental powers and immortality. Not too long after the explosion did I find the other elementals among the treetops and make my new home with them. Over the years I have learned how to use my powers to the point where I rarely mess up but there are those times when something kind of just.. slips out of my control. {I will probably make it up more as we start the RP since I'm not sure what to say right now xD}

The background;"Like I said before, I was at college when I got my element and immortality so my age was frozen at 19. I have had this element for almost a century so I know how to use it pretty well. The only people who knew about my powers was one of my closest friends and my parents but since the city sent me away, I haven't seen them for quite some time."
My powers; "As I stated before, I could use the lightening as a form of weaponry. I could use this power by either having a storm or I can use it from my finger but when I use it from my finger, it isn't as effective. Another thing that goes along with my lightening element is being able to heat stuff up by making a fire. I can make fires by having wood or other forest debris and shocking it with the electricity from my finger to spark a fire. And lastly, of course, I can use it as protection for others as well as myself, easily."
My Vida Pendant; My Vida Pendant is a circle made of sterling silver with an addition of copper in it. On the middle is a lightning bolt that is typically yellow but darkens to orange then red depending on my anger. As a Lightening Element, I am typically a little hot-headed but try to keep my anger and happiness at level so that I don't lose my temper. Because it is the Lightening Element's pendant, it has a bit of an aura which gets hotter and hotter as my anger grows, like the colors of the lightning bolt.
