Dusin sighed and squeezed his eyes shut before turning to face her. He opened his bright blue eyes after a moment. "I really hate you," he said quietly. Dustin meant it but he didn't. He hated her because he was starting to care about her. He never care about anyone and he didn't want to.

Leida took another step back and tripped over a rock. Her pocket knife flipped and cut a gash into the right palm. She hit the ground with a thud and sat up quickly, staring down at her hand.
