Oreo
{I just want to say that the reason I chose Oreo, though generic, was because I love gypsy vanners with my heart. So when my friend [we were about 8] had a gypsy vanner horse toy I loved it. I almost begged her into giving it to me. I named it Oreo, so whenever I think of that horse, I think of my best friend [who moved away]. So yes, Oreo is generic to most people, but to me, its something special.}

" I stepped softly on the new snow. My little hooves made little imprints. I stepped cautiously around, remembering when I used to fall all the time. A man was heading towards me, a halter in his hand. He put it on me and pulled me gruffly along. I snorted and reared up. But, I was only a foal, and it made little difference. I was loaded onto a trailer, and that was the last that I saw of that place. It was a long ride, and 3 other foals were with me. I ended up falling asleep, and woke up to a screeching halt, with the back of the trailer wide open. The other foals ran off into the woods, but I couldn't, for the halter I was wearing was knotted to a railing on the side. I sat there, shivering for hours. Where ever I was, it was much snowy-er, and much colder then where I came from. After about an hour, the man who took me to the trailer, came out. I heard others talking, saw blue and red lights, heard sirens. The man ignored this, untied me, and told me to git.
"Git girl! While you still have time!" He was much different now. He seemed to care, and wanted me to be free, "I already saved some of the others. But this is your chance! Git!" Well I didn't oblige, and ran off. I followed the tracks of the foals, but looked back for 1 second. An ambulance stood next to the wrecked trailer & a small, crushed car. 4 police cars seemed to stare at the wreck, like the were trying to blame someone. But this didn't matter to me, and I ran off, never looking back again. I met up with the other foals fairly quickly. One was brown, and had a black sock. He was kind of bland, but his eyes were a deep chestnut. I thought it was cute. Another female, blue eyed, was golden tan, with white spotting on her rump, and a heart on her head. The last one, a guy, was grey with some spots of brown and white in some areas. His eyes seemed to be squinting, so I couldn't see his eye color. "I'm... Oreo" I had said, breaking the silence. The squint eyed foal breathed softly, and seemed to say something. The filly then said, "He's Mahogany. He never really talks. I'm Jessie, but call me Jay. We're twins, He’s the smaller one. Barely survived, both of us did though. Had to be bottle fed, the man who told you to get, he's the one who did. If he didn't we'd be dead. Y'know, slaughter houses don't care much for the weak." "SLAUGHTER HOUSE?!!" I screamed. Jay nodded. "Then why did that man let us go?" I asked, nervous.
"Well, hes good. He cares for us. We were supposed to be shipped to be veal, well, THEM anyways, not you or me." I was confused at her comment, she explained "The females are kept or sold for 2 reasons ; Bland ones kept for breeding, pretty ones sold for an extra buck. I'm very pretty, but, and to quote the humans, "16002 is a BEAUTY! She'll haul in the big bucks!", they knew you were special. And according to your ear tag your 16002, no? Your coloring is very rare, according to them, and they were going to sell you. For a lot." Jay said. I had looked sadly at Mahogany, and the other male, "So they were going to be killed, while we were sold?" Jay nodded. "How do you know this?"
"My mum. She knows a lot. Oh and the humans."
"Now what?" I asked, looking pitiful. The male whose name remained unknown stepped up, and said in a very calming voice,
"I'm Arabia. Ya haha, funny name. We will bed down for tonight then in the morning start to move, and hope to find humans." I gave him a What-the-Heck-are-you-thinking? look, but did as he said. I lied down, hoping this was all a dream, and was going to wake up next to mom. But in the morning I was still in the forest surrounded by 3 other foals. And we did as Arabia said. We began to walk. We walked for miles, days, they struggled with frost, cold, water, lack-of water, lack of food, predators. Everything. Only to pass out each and every day. But one day, we found a barn. Old, falling apart, rusted, but there. We ran in and found (dusty) hay, which we gorged themselves in, only to give ourselves the runs later. But it was worth it. In the first time for weeks we found enough food all of us to be full. We were... Happy! We stayed there for months, finding old hay, and We also found hay that was very fresh. Like it had been dropped there over night. We were all suspicious but ate it, anyways. The others and I grew up there, into teens, and lived there until spring. So when a teenish girl walked in one day, on a horse, holding a rope, we all freaked. We reared, ran, bit, rammed. But the girl had backup, and we young, so we were all caught.
"They been livin' here since mid-winter" She had said, "I've been feedin' 'dem the old hay, they seemed satisfied" Thats when I thought my life would end.
But what happened was a new, better life, and better friendships.
I learned to love this girl, and the feeling was mutual. Mahogany was kept as a breeding stallion, as well as Jay, while Arabia was shipped off to be a little girl’s best friend, a little girl with Mesothelioma. I was kept for breeding, and I ended up the most favored of all of the equines, can you believe that? "
Oreo said, to her new baby girl, who looked at her fascinated, with big, blue, eyes.

You can add a piece of fan art or something if you want, but I will be really only judging the story in case anyone else who enters doesn't have time to add a bunch of things to their form ^^

Owner: Blackhoeses
Likorn Name: Lark
Age: 2
Height: 13'2hh
Story: Lark was born in to a small carnival side show, her mother was the main attraction. She spent her first years there, it was not very pleasant. They were ether to cold or to warm and there never seemed to be enough food to fill her and her mothers bellies. But the people were never relay mean and would give them lots of pats and some times the old man that cleaned there stall would give them an apple. Shortly after she turned 1, she started working in the show with her mother. It was hard work but kinda fun and some times the kids would give her bits of popcorn and other food. As Lark neared her second birthday the weather started to become colder. And the humans around her started yelling more and more. Lark did not know it but the carnival was doing poorly and they were talking about selling Lark and her mother.

As it so happened a person came along and made a good offer for Lark and her mother. The were soon sold and sent of to a farm with lots of other animals. They spent a few miserable cold months there as winter had started. And they were left out in the field with only a rickety shed for shelter. Soon both Lark and her mother had a terrible cold and shortly after Larks mother passed on. As Lark lay there moving in and out of fever induced haze. She herd loud sounds, saw red and blue lights, and there was a lot of activity on the farm. The animals were being loaded up and taken away, Lark drifted in to the feverish haze.

The next thing she knew she was laying in a barn on a deep bed of straw, warped up in lost of blankets. There was two giant dogs laying near by. When they saw she was awake they bounced up and bounded out of the barn barking. Soon they came back with a lady and some horse fallowing them. The lady knelt down and gently patted Lark, just then a lark began to sing in the rafters. The lady looked up and then looked back at Lark. "Well now there is a sing if I ever heard one, I think we will call you Lark. Welcome Lark to Hodgepodge Farm. We take in anyone who can use help and the best part is we live right next to a wild preserve park. So when you get all better you can stay down here with us or go exploring." With a final pat the lady stood up and left, a few days later Lark was up on her feet.

She was amazed at this place the animals pretty much had free range, all the people were relay nice and always had treats. And best of all she was not strange or a freak here. There was a little ferret type creature that showed up and was bright blue and his mate was red and even had a unicorn horn too. There was also a mare that was all golden with brown stripes like a zebras and some of the animals were normal. Well sort of, some had scares, others were shy and scared easily. But everyone was treated with loving care and there was always enough food for everyone. Lark still got tired easily, so she would often curl up in random stalls with other animals who wanted company.

One morning she woke up to a loud bang as the door was thrown open and the lady came bounding in saying Merry Christmas. She then handed out treat bags to everyone. Soon she gathered up some of the animals, then she came over and put a halter on Lark. And began telling her about this home near by where there was a bunch of older people. Then she led Lark to a trailer, Lark hesitated to get in and flinched a little waiting for a blow for stopping. Like had happened some times at the carnival, but the lady just waited patiently, Lark pricked her ears forwarded and listed to the other animals in the trailer. She heard some of her friends in there, there was the friendly little pony, one of the large dogs, and a goat. The one that liked to curl up next to her at night. Lark steeped up into the trailer figuring if her friends were going to be with her every thing would be alright.

The ride seemed to take forever, but that was ok since she had everyone to talk to. When they finally got to the place, everyone was unloaded. They walked into a lager room full of old people, Lark lend against the lady unsure of all these people. But then she saw a saddens in the eyes of most people there, they seemed so lonely. As the other animals walked around she saw a light come in to those faces. Lark slowly made her way up to a lady siting in a funny chair with wheels, the old lady was just kinda staring at the floor. Lark lay down and put her head on the old lady's lap, the lady's face slowly began to light up as she petted Lark. Time seemed to pass very quickly as she moved from person to person snuggling and getting pats and treats. Soon her lady was telling her it was time to go and how happy she was with all the Christmas cheer Lark had spread. On the way back to the farm Lark diced that she relay liked going to help people and the next time she was asked she would jump right in. So she could give light and joy to those that need it. With a contented sigh she feel asleep right there in the trailer surrounded by friends and a deep feeling of peace.

Yes I am judging it. I am having a couple of people read the stories and just waiting for them to get back to me. Sorry but I have been very busy the last couple of days with school and a driving test. Don't rush me please.
