I agree with ya', Cloudsong.

Although I've never actually been in a roleplay that moves fast, I have written stories with friends that are rather plottless and just dull. So I'd much rather be in three interesting roleplays that move slowly. Then again, I'm also very patient and busy, so it's probably best that they move slowly. xD

same here c: although i wouldn't mind if it wasn't out of this world unique as long as it was interesting enough to roleplay and was still active.
especially nowadays, when i have so much muse and will to rp xD more so than usual haha

my problem with roleplaying is that i'm just not very creative.
sure, i've got a good list of vocab (when was the last time you heard someone say outré, feckless, fatuous, or stoic in day to day conversation?), but i suck in terms of brainstorming ;-; always have.
sighh, i'm so jealous of some of you guys on here who come up with the best plots and characters!
although, you guys are the ones who've lured me into joining more roleplays than i should've xD

question ; would you rather be in three super interesting roleplays that don't move very fast, or one not-so-interesting roleplay that's very active?

*Cough* You sound like me. It always astounds me when someone does not know a word that I assume is everyday knowledge. It is not that I look down on the person so much as I feel strange for knowing the word, myself.

Coming up with plots takes practice, as does anything else. The more you read, and the more roleplays you take part in, the easier it will come. I also find that I do best making character-driven plots (though I do mostly 1x1s, so it works for those). What would motivate the characters? What in their past, present, or future has or could create contention and drama?

As far as your question, I would rather have a slower, interesting roleplay. If I am bored, I leave, no matter the activity level. In fact, slower roleplays often are more interesting because people take the time to write well and develop the plot.

This is right. Because when it comes down to it, there are really two main reasons why I roleplay: to improve myself as a writer, and simply for my own amusement. If you're in a plotless, boring roleplay, then I don't think your imagination is being exercised very much, and you aren't improving. And for me, it certainly isn't fun. So if I ever find a roleplay to be boring, I never stick around very long.

But thats just my view on the topic. XD

Oh and can you guys post on Clever title? I'd hate to see it die Dx

@ Harlequin ; i agree. and actually, what you said about creating a plot centered around a character is pretty helpful!
    @ Cloudsong ; that's all very true ^^

When it comes down to it, at least for 1x1s, I don't mind starting off with a relatively open plot, so long as my partner can add twists. I am good at throwing ideas in as we go along, but I refuse to do ALL the work. I'll even do three-quarters of it, but there comes a point in which I wonder why I am not just writing a novel instead of roleplaying with them.

It depends on what pairing you are asking about. I"m hesitant to change them too much, honestly.
But, I was going to (for example) make both Flit and Meeko female, and have them be a lesbian couple. A few of the others (especially cross- movie ones) are also going to be homosexual couples.

I know I need to pair a ton of that down, I just don't know who to get ride of. I love them all so much!

i would have to say plot making doesn't always take practice. From the start that was my forte. I can could come up with ideas left and right, and coke up with ideas for in role-play twists. Still can, and it drives me batty, since it usually means I have a ton of great ideas that I badly want to turn into role-plays, and don't have the time for.
But if anybody ever needs help with ideas for twists or plot development I'm always happy to help.

btw still looking for a potential one x one partner for a human x angel rp that's m x m. .-. I'm gonna keep pestering until I either find someone here or on the one x one thread. xP I have ideas and my charrie already thought out [the human]

For me, the difficulty role playing is making one, and coming up with plot twists. I'm getting better at plotting, because of some recent drama in one of my favorite role plays [Tals -nudge nudge- reply to me. -_-] . My "cup of tea" per se, is the coding and the forms. I love making personalities, but only once in a while. Ya'll probably don't even know how much I love my character from Arty's role play. I wish I could have played xxr myself. :p

Herp Derp shoot me now, please. im a horrible person. Which irks you guys more; no apostrophes, or no capitalization?

And my amusement for the day; It makes me giggle a little when people think the "lit" in semi-lit means "Literal" or "Literature" ... So it's all like, "I'm semi-literal!" or "I'm semi-Literature!" I'm horrifying. This makes me just laugh ...
          Shoot me now. -_-
