My betta Sideswipe didn't make it over last night. I took a closer look at him this morning, and it seemed he was missing a fin. ._. He's all by himself, and the only thing in there is some gravel and real plants.

Maybe he was flaring at his reflection and ripped a fin? -has read about that happening-

Aww, sorry about your fishy. He could have chewed his own fin off. Bettas are known for doing that for various reasons.

Well, the divider in my tank was black, and I've tried to get him to flare before. He wasn't aggressive at all.

Has anything new been put in or near his tank recently? He could have freaked out about something new and stressed himself to death. It's possible. Stress is one of the reasons for tail-biting, too.

Posting this was a pain, I am on my phone. Also, I am a horrible photographer and the lighting does these pretties no justice.

The male has a bright bright red face, orange stripes, and shiny blue scales. And the female has a pink peach face. I am in love with these fish, the male is like a puppy. x3 I have to get better pictures in the light tomorrow! Please tell me if the links don't work. c:

I thought I might join this thread... I've had Pyro for maybe 3 months now. I'll have to admit I'm not the most responsible about cleaning tanks, but I'm working on that. Does 50% every three to four days work? I'm sorry I've bombarded you guys with lots of questions over the course of these three months XD.

Oh yeah, I'll post a picture of Pyro later. I actually have one up here, but it was from a while ago.

Today or tomorrow I get to go to petco and restock my tank! Im really exited, I haven't even thought of restocking it until recently. A few months ago my filter stopped working while I was on vacation for two weeks and while I was gone fin rot/ich showed up and killed 6 of my 8 black skirts my angel fish and two female bettas =c so Ive just been down to two black skirts and my like invincible golden dojo loach (Seriously Ive had him for two+ years and he is always doing great no matter what happens like the black skirts had the fin rot/ich when i got home and he was as healthy as when I left) Im probably going to get angels again if not angels then gourami depending on whats at the store and of course more black skirts ^_^ I havent restocked my tank just because I want to be sure everything is healthy and all but the three ish I have seem to be doing greay and I miss the activity more fish bring to a tank. But other than that Im getting a ten gallon soon! and Im thinking of doing a planted betta tank with either a divider and two bettas or a king betta and probably some cardinal tetras =D

Went to Petland to see if they had any cardinal tetras. I thing cardinals would be a pretty addition to my community tank, but then we saw the neon rosy barbs. I do believe I want a school of those now. Maybe I'll get some cardinal tetras as well at a later date. I have fewer fish than I realized. I have the 1 gourami, 1 angel, 1 dwarf gourami, 6 female guppies, and 4 zebra danios. My one-eyed danio was my only casualty of the move.

I just don't know if the rosy barbs would just be too much for my tank or not. I have good filtration, and can always add more, but my plants took quite a beating in the move. I may try to find some cardinal tetras first, and try to let my plants all get re-established and grow back in before I get the barbs.
