Eleven is his number - The Dark Reiny - CONTEST RE-OPENED

Postby Berkshire » Mon Dec 17, 2012 4:14 pm

Yeah I waved a silver custom in your faces, so now it is time for a real adoptable!

Reiny #11, Buck

End date: March 14

About this reiny

Next antlerless reiny, this time a buck! As you may have noticed, reinys who do not grow antlers have thus far retained their spots. It is not clear whether an adult reiny can be found lacking both antlers and spots, but so far this seems to be the result, keeping your spots means no antlers. It also seems as though these individuals have a higher likelihood of developing hair "quirks", possibly to compensate for lack of antlers. Well this young buck is in his teenage years, so he probably won't be growing his antlers, seems like instead of gaining antlers as he grew, he gained a massive attitude!

How to win
Art and story contest! Story must be by you, and must be 1-2 (maaayyybe 3) paragraphs. Art should be by you, but can be made ordered if needed. but it must pertain to the story (example, a scene from the story)

The story can be about him finding out he can't get antlers, or adventuring, or about flying, or about his hair, or about his string and why he has it, or whatever you want!

Code: Select all
Name: Explanation of name if desired.
Story:
Art:
5 words that describe his personality:

Feel free to rearrange the form and pretty it up, extras are not encouraged.

important wrote:This may be the last reiny as I am losing my computer tomorrow, for upwards of a month or more. I'm so sorry everyone.

Image Zap
{I just looked at him and this is what I
thought of..^_^}
Image
It was a typical day for Zap. He stared at
his mom, "when will I get my antlers?" he
complained angrily, stomping his feet with
agitation. He looked across the snow-covered
meadow, watching the other bucks play and
lock antlers, always trying to be the best.
"I'm sure you will get them soon..." his
mother replied reassuringly. Deep down
inside, Zap knew that was never going to
happen. He wanted so dearly to laugh and
jump and play, but none of the bucks accepted
him. He was an outcast! He was the weirdo!
"Why don't you go explore?" Zap's mother
suggested. Zap sighed, that's all he ever
does these days. Explore, explore, explore.
There was nothing better to do, so he stomped
away, head hanging low. He avoided the bucks
as best as he could, but he could hear them
calling him names. Zap started to run, as fast
as he could. He loved running, that feeling of getting
lighter and lighter, as if he was going to take off
into the air any second. But he hooves hit the ground,
no flying today. He came to a halt in a cozy clearing.
He was still fuming from the way the bucks treated
him. He crushed some low shrubs that still remained.
"Stupid stupid STUPID!" he cried angrily. "I want antlers!
Why can't I be normal?!" he whines angrily. There was
a rustle in the trees, and Zap stopped, looking around
nervously. He heard of reinydeers mysteriously
disappearing, usually blamed on wolves. Just as he
was thinking about it, a young wolf popped out. She
had a beautiful snowy coat and a fluffy tail. "Hi!" she
exclaimed. Zap yelped and stumbled backwards,
"G-get away from me!" he cried in fear. The wolf cocked
her head, "Why? I wont hurt you." she replied.
"Your a...your a wolf! You eat reinydeers!" Zap blurted.
The wolf almost laughed out loud, "Eat YOU?" she exclaimed,
"That's just silly, why would I do that?!" Zap was bewildered,
he'd never met a wolf, and from the stories he heard,
how can this one be so nice? "So...you won't eat me?"
he asked cautiously. "No, that's just gross!" she said, giggling.
"Do you want to be friends?" Zap widened his eyes in surprise.
He had never had a real friend before... "Sure" he said, the
fear disappearing from his voice. She smiled cheerfully,
"C'mon, I'll race you!" she said before leaping away and
through the trees. Zap grinned, "Never challenge a reinydeer
to a race!" he yelled after her. He sprinted away into
he distance, laughing and running joyfully with his new friend.

Name: Koray, Explanation of name if desired: It means ember moon. The design on this buck reminded me of the moon and stars when I saw it.
Story: Koray was born from the moon. So, naturally, when Santa and the elves adopted him they named him something that had to do with the moon. Eleven months after they adopted him, he went missing.

The elves went looking for him. Koray had decided that he needed to find some adventure and went looking for it. He had decided to go adventuring in the forest and along the way he found two blue ribbons on the trees. He began to pick them up... when suddenly, a wolf burst out of the trees. It said to him, Don't touch those! They were made by the man in the moon to restrain anyone with too much power. As if on cue, Koray's spots lit up and he gazed at them, scared. The wolf stared, Y-you have power, lots of it. I think the restraints might be for you... As soon as the wolf spoke, the ribbons wrapped themselves around Koray's ankle and neck. He struggled against them as they rapped him up but it was no use. He was finally powerless, not that he'd ever gotten to use his powers.

The wolf stared at him again, It is said that the ribbons will come off when there is a time where the world greatly needs your power. After adding that last comment, the wolf disappeared in a quick burst of light. Koray struggled to get out of the ribbons for a few minutes but realized it wasn't happening. During those few minutes of struggling, the elves searching for Koray heard and found him. They took him back home to the reindeer stables but from that day on his life at the North Pole was never the same.

Art: Sorry I can't do art on this computer.
5 words that describe his personality: Adventurous, powerful, timid, stubborn, unaccepted

Hello! I'm Jax, but my real name is Jackson. My dad chose this odd reindeer name because of the small village we resided in. Jacksonville. It was a snowy, cold, evergreen forest kinda area, the small village nestled in a crisp snow valley. Most all the little buildings where made of logs, and it's where people ride horses instead of drive cars, huskies pull the mailman, and us reindeer are owned by residents. Our owner was an old farmer, who loved his reindeer dearly. I can't blame him. Who wouldn't live this cute face? Any-who, feel free to call me Jax. It is my nickname, and seems more me-like than Jackson. Jackson is so official... And I'm the complete opposite of official.

Image
Five words people use to describe me are: Charming, Dear, Zanies, Bubbly, Watchful. I agree with all of these. ;; Charming. I am a charming reindeer. People call me this for my friendly, kind side. I am very kind to new reindeer, and try to be their friend. I am not afraid of new reindeer; I just go up and say hello. So I guess that makes me the opposite of shy. ;; Dear. Which means endearing, sweet, a showing of love and affection. So I guess I'm kind, sweet, and a good friend. I do agree with that. I am very close and nice to my friends, and even people that are not my friends. Even people I dislike I am kind to too. It's just a natural thing I do. ;; Zanies. Humorous, funny. Which is true. I love jokes, and I have some pretty good ones. When my friends are sad, 99.9% of the time I can make them smile. I love that part of me. When I make someone laugh, it makes me feel all fuzzy and tingly in the inside. It just makes me want to smile. ;; Bubbly means a person full of cheerful spirits. Oh, that's me. I'm a very cheerful person. You rarely see me sad. I can turn a sad situation into a good one. It goes along with my Zanies side. Bright and cheerful. ;; Watchful. Yes indeed. I may seem all fun and games, but I always have an eye out. I'm always attentive to the world around me, which is a good thing. It's saved me many times. I got this trait from my father, who used to tell me the most horrifying stories ever. I'd be so scared, I couldn't help but have eyes on the back of my head.

Image
The rising run flickered in the barn sides, the wood falling down in places let trickles of light seep through. A beam glared in Jax's closed eyes, his black fur getting warm. He woke with a jolt, dreaming of one of his father's horrifying stories he'd tell him. It was about a magical wolf, who ate him and his father both in one huge gulp. He glanced quickly around the barn, his panting slowing as he realized he was safe. With a shaky sigh, he forced himself to stand. Dad must be out working already. He thought, prancing outside into the sunny light. A gentle breeze rustled through his fur, as he closed his eyes, inhaling the crisp wintergreen air. He sighed with content, walking out a few more feet into the grass to graze. Jax bent down to take a bite out of the grass. It was crunchy and smooth as usual, cold from the snowy ground. That's how he liked it. He swallowed hard, going down for another bite. Everything was calm, until... "Morning Jax!" A booming girl's voice pounded in his ear. He jumped away, stumbling a little. The doe giggled lightly, watching him be startled. "Oh, hey Mint." The fellow reindeer pranced around him, head held high. Mint and Ajax had been friends for forever it seemed, and still Mint had to stare him everyday. "So what are we doing today?" Jax looked up, seeming her fur bounce lightly as she pranced around. Her green eyes sparkled in the shimmering sunlight, her pink nose curved so perfectly... He almost forgot about her question. "Um... Uh... How about a hike?" He blurted out. She stopped, shocked. "Without an adult? Are you serious?" He nodded slowly, and Minty grinned. "Ok. Sounds fun. Let's go!" Mint pranced on ahead, as Jax shook his heard hanging it in shame as he followed her to the dark woods. ;;
"Are you sure I can make it?!" Jax called to Mint from the other side of the ditch. The doe nodded ecstatically. "Just run, and leap. I made it." Jax wasn't sure about this, but did as told. He took a few steps back, charging towards the drop off, practically throwing himself to the other side. He landed in the rocks with a loud THUD, a dust loud rising up. He lay, legs sprawled apart, face planted in the dirt. Mint lighted hilariously. He got up, shooting her a short glare as he shook off. They went on ahead, until they reached a cliff. The woods ended, and a large canyon fell beneath them. They gazed down, and as Jax turned to go back... There stood a wolf. A hungry, big, rough raggedy wolf. It bared its teeth, snarling. "Uh... Mint." Mint turned, seeing the wolf, she couldn't help but... SCREAM!!! The wolf howled, sprinting toward the deer. She tried to run, but the wolf tackled her, pinning her down. Mint was toast. "Stop!" Jax yelled, the wolf looked in his direction. Instead of attacking, it spoke. "Give me a reason." It's blue eyes seemed to rip a whole in his heart as they glared at him. "Because I'm here. And I'm going to protect her." He said quite boldly, taking a profound step forward. The wolf gave a wicked grin, it's cracked, jagged, yellow teeth showing. "I'll let her live under one condition. I get your antlers." "What?" "I get your antlers." "O-O-Okay then." Mint yelled at Jax from under the wolf. "No Jax! If you give them up, they will never grow-" The huge wolf put a paw over her mouth, his grin staying. He let out a mighty howl, that shook the forest. Birds cawed, snow fell off the trees. Jax felt pain in his head. Suddenly he felt his antlers being yanked out by some invisible force. The pain was hurting him badly, as he held on to the ground beneath him. Suddenly... POP! Both his antlers where ripped out from the roots. He expected blood, but it was a clean removal. Not even a mark or hole. The wolf gave a gut wrenching cackle, as his antlers fell with a clatter onto the stone. The wolf moved like light, picking up the antlers, and zooming back in the forest. Mint stared at him in shock. Jax then realized the sacrifice he made, for a friend.

Here is art for... The Wolf ;; The reason I chose this certain wolf art for the wolf in my story was because it had the simple design of a wolf, but also had a mysterious, different, almost magical appeal to him. And his name, Poison, suited his persona. I actually ordered this wolf for this form.
