{Nothern Air's POV}
I padded along the sidewalk, my hands in the pockets of my jeans. I was headed out of my ugly, bad neighborhood that cold night to go visit a friend. Sherbert and I had become close friends since the night I saved her life at the lake.
I flipped my collar up in an attempt to block my neck from the cold winter winds. I then zipped up the leather coat, sticking the beautifully wrapped gift into the inner pockets to make sure it didnt freeze or get wet from the snow that just began to fall.
I finally left my neighborhood, coming up along the rich part of town, where the houses were fancy and huge, with giant front and backyards. I walked past one house that was for sale that caught my eye, but I just walked back it with my head staring indignantly in front of me, as if I hadnt seen the thing. I couldnt help but think; It would be a great starter home....
I turned the corner to be stopped by a big guy with blue ears and a flashly silver tail. He was big and muscly, and I knew that, by the tight shirt he wore to show off his muscles, he wanted a fight. I slowly looked up, reaching for the switch in my back pocket I always carried just in case this happened.
His gaze bore down on me. He simply snorted and walked past, obviously not wanting to fight with me. I shrugged, figuring maybe I scared him. I was a pretty scary character if I had to be, which was a good thing. I tucked the blade back into my back pocket and headed on.
I came to a stop in front of the biggest house I had seen in my life. It was a three or four story, I wasnt sure, but it had new shingles, a fence made of bushes and they had a huge front yard, which was littered with puppy toys and a huge maple tree, which I thought looked beautiful.
I headed up to the gate which surrounded the bushes and went to the main entrance. I looked around for a moment and found no buzzer, so I hopped the fence without much trouble and headed up the slope, being barked at by some little mutt. I saw the storm get worse and clipped him off the freezing chain, heading over to the porch and ringing the doorbell.
As I listened to the beautiful chime of the doorbell, I patted the small terrier on the head. It seems he had taken a liking to me already. I dropped the pup on the ground by accident when Sherbert opened the door, wearing a beautiful black dress, her medium lengthed blonde hair down and in curls. I noticed how simply adorable and innocent she looked.
I saw her eyes widen in fear and she dragged me in along with the puppy, slamming the door shut. "You walked?" She asked. I nodded slowly. "I always walk to where I need to go, we cant afford cars." I told her. Her eyes instantly filled with worry. "You could catch your death in a storm like that!" Sherbert told me.
I pulled her close, wrapping my arms around her waist. I pulled her head forward gently and gave her a light kiss on her pink lips. "Hey, Baby, it'll be okay." I told her, a loving, warm smile crossing my face as a small blush appeared on hers.
She gently pulled away from my grasp and took me to the bathroom, where she took my temperature and gave me an aspirin for my fever.
*Later that night, around 12*
Sherbert yawned, leaning against my shoulder gently as we watched the horror film in her bedroom. Sherbert embraced me tightly with a whimper when something popped up, but wasnt the killer. I patted her softly on the head. "Wanna stop watching?" I asked her. She shook her head no, as if she liked sharing a horror film and a bed with me.
We both leaned back against the pillows by the time it was the end of the movie. Popcorn and candy were spread out across the bed, and we were both extremely tired. I gently got up, cleaning the bed off before setting up seperate sleeping spots.
I lifted my head when she looked up, half asleep. "Go back to sleep, Baby." I smiled, pushing the pink blanket over Sherbert, who had changed into pajamas earlier after she kicked him out of the bathroom. Sherbert shook her head. "It's still snowing outside, you cant leave." She begged me.
I kissed her forehead. "I wont leave." I promised to her. She smiled weakly and went back to sleep. I headed out into the livingroom and hopped onto the empty couch, falling asleep quite quickly.
I woke up to a loud scream and shot instantly up, looking around. I recognised that scream. It was Sherbert!
