Inferno grunted and kept moving with them, nearing the treeline. As they entered under the trees, the wind was less harsh and not nearly as much snow cam through. The cave entrance was a few meters ahead, only part of it snowed over, a drift at the back of the entrance. "Right this way. Almost there." he nickered to the mares and himself, the tall stallion chilled to the bone. The dusted bay moved along with them.

Sorrow Of An Iris

The mare made it inside and at the middle of the cave, her legs gave out and she collapsed on the hard floor. Her knees met the cave floor with a hard bang and her small frame ended up on its side barely moving. Her snow dappled coat barely rose and descended as she breathed. She was breathing in short labored breaths breathing heavily before returning to the quick breaths. She shivered as the snow melted and chilled her to the bones.

Nightingale sighed in relief, urging the mare a few meters more with a gentle nudge. Maybe she'd have a mare as a friend too!. The Shire frowned as the wind blew her long curly mane into her eyes. The rough hair tickling them annoyingly. The mare looked up at Iris "It's okay. I can hold you" she said noticing how tense the mare was. Despite her plumpness, she was a bit muscular. The Shire mare breathed in relief as they made it too the cave, she shook out her pelt. Careful to keep it a distance from the other horses. Gazing outside, she watched the storm roar on. Unable to hide her sadness, knowing that other horses were out there.

Inferno moved toward Iris and lied against her, trying to clear her pelt of the frost. He nipped it from her ears so they would not get frostbitten, and took some of it from her neck. He watched Nightingale leave with curiosity. It was freezing out there. Turning back to Iris, the stallion gently continued to clean her of the snow, hoping his body heat and cleaning off the flakes would help her. "Can you speak yet?"

As she entered the cave, her skinny legs immeadietly collapsed beneath her. She landed with a light thud onto the ground and panted, her coat was flecked with flakes of the white snow and her eyes blinked as she tried to remove some of the flakes from them. She looked up at the stallion with grateful eyes "Thank you very much sir" she nickered. "You saved me" she thanked him.

She entered the thick leave of the trees and shook out her long, creamy mane to get some of the melting snow out of the strands of hair. She looked over at the stallion "It's very nice to meet you Broken" she nickered and dipped her head to him as a sign of respect for the horse that had just saved her. "I am Harmonious Whispers, but I like Harmony" she explained.

The grey stallion swerved his ears "Oh, of course. I know of a little clearing over here" he told her and pointed with his muzzle to the east. He couldn't see much in the white, but he knew well enough where he was going after roaming around here for long enough. "We can talk there" he nickered and began to walk off on the familiar land, looking behind him to make sure the mare was following.
