He has many soft spots, and it known to believe in love at first sight. He wishes to become married before he finishes university, and receive a well paying job as an artist after college. But you see, he’s had this dream. He’s always had this dream, ever since he ad just picked up a paintbrush; Lucas wants to be one of the most known painters in all of Europe. Now this wish might seem impossible, but he has thought this over many times. He knows where he could go wrong in life, and how he could screw up. But with a passion like his, it will be extremely difficult to throw him of track. Lucas has created many different styles and textures, using only the cheapest paint and paper he could find. So, when he received a letter from l’école des arts He was extremely surprised to find that he had gotten in by pure talent. His mother had no money to give him, and for that horrible, miserable moment, Luke thought that his dream had been crushed. But then, when he went to talk with the school board, they had informed him that all costs would be paid by the school. They wanted him there.
History:
Lucas Alexander Vinson had loved to paint for as long as he remembered. He had never been to a proper school, where they taught boys like him how to create different textures and colors, but instead of complaining about such helpless things Luke had decided to learn by himself. And so he did. At age fifteen, he had managed to sneak a couple sheets of dirty white paper, a single paintbrush, and two or three colors from Jason. K. High school. Of course, he really had no choice. His mother couldn’t afford useless things, such as art supplies. They needed the little money they had to buy food, and bottled water. Complaints about wealth and riches had bothered Lucas ever since his father and eldest brother had left them. Instead of crying when they had gone, he had accepted it as fate. Besides, it wasn’t as if he was going to miss them; his father was a rotten person. He cheated on his mum, and had had countless affairs with more then twelve different women. After this, he had become an alcoholic, and spent almost every night out at a bar or a pub with all his other drunken friends. His mother knew about this, though she never mentioned it; she believed that if she kept quiet, she would continue a normal life, perhaps without him once and a while. Well, that was what she told her son. Lucas suspected other things. He considered that his mother thought that she couldn’t live with out his father. He was the one making all the money, he was the one who kept the house in order, and he was the one who made sure the kids turned out properly. What could she possible do without all of that? It turned out, that after several months of planning, Lucas’s dad turned on them, and took Charles, his oldest son, to live in New York with him. They had expected to make thousands of a stock market, which, Luke soon found out, turned out to be worth nothing. But even when disaster struck, the two men still refused to come back home.
After that incident, Lucas and his mother where forced to live in a two room apartment. That being, the living room, the kitchen, and the bathroom, all squished together, and one other bedroom that Luke had agreed to leave for his mum. And so, he was left with a cheap pull out couch to sleep on. Thought he loved his mother dearly, he was ashamed to have his friends over for dinner. Their apartment wasn’t exactly an ideal place for guests to stay in, even his mum agreed. And so, he kept out of his home for as much time as possible; after school, he would run several laps around the park, then he would go grab a bit to eat with the few euros his mother gave him each day. Then, he would go hang out with his best friend, Madison. After a long tiring day of all this, he would head back home for the night to sleep. The next day, he would follow the same routine. But this all changed one day when Lucas found a letter with his name and address on it. Curious, he opened It as quickly as possible, not bothering to be careful, and save the paper. At first, the boy was shocked to see that it was form l’école des arts…, could his dream possibly have come true? As he read note, his eyes became wider and wider. He had been accepted into the school! With an excited shout, he called his mother down, who was equally as thrilled as he was. She told him he should go, and not waste anytime, but she told his to start packing as soon as possible, the semester would start in a couple of days. So, he did, and packed the few things he had with him.
