This is Tempest. He is very lonely and sickly. He struggles with poverty (his house has no heat so he has to wrap himself in a holey blanket and curl near the fireplace). All of these troubles and misfortunes, though, seem to disappear while he reads. When he opens his book, his mind is temporarily taken to a better world!

This is Diallo. He owns an antique store, so he is surrounded by pretty trinkets that he sells in his shop. His favorite part of his store, though, is his collection of antique hair ornaments; he wears them to hold back his long hair as he works, so that it doesn't hang in his face.
