appearence →When anyone sees Charlie Whitehorse, they can tell that the family was blessed with one heck of a gene pool. Charlie has the typical 'brooding boy' hairstyle. Never flat and always careless he keeps it cut messily short, falling to about the back of his neck. Stubbornly messy, it never seems to enjoy being slicked down or controlled, so there is no point in actually trying to do so. The color reminds one of a redwood tree. It’s not your average looking hair; it seems to match his entire look. Alright, in more depth, it’s like so: imagine a redwood tree standing proudly in the sun. Then add tints of dark chocolate to this proud color. Then over years it starts to turn a little copper, like caramel has drizzled over the strands of faded, old color. It has faded from the bright auburn to a duller, yet still rich and full auburn with caramel drizzling over the soft strands. Charlie's done nothing to it, ever; could you see him taking the time out of his day to do that? Moving down to his face, it’s angular with slender cheeks, slashing cheek bones and carved jaw and face. Charlie's eyes are blue. They're dark yet luminous, like the sky the night of a full moon. Somewhat smug and delighted they are, but sharp and quick, they catch every movement, as if they are truly a wolf’s eyes. Onto his body, his skin is naturally quite tan, kind of like a surfer, but a little lighter and more natural. At a height of 6’1”, he often found intimidating with a muscular, broad-shouldered frame and a strong torso and arms. With his playful eyes, messy hair, and sturdy structure, Charlie is one heck of a guy.
personality →Charlie's a confusing guy. He's open yet closed, happy but sad; he's the one to look to for guidance but the one you know will always doze off during a lesson. He knows where he wants to go but doesn't quite know how to get there, never intending on stopping to ask for directions [ metaphorically, of course, though he'd never ask for directions anyhow ]. Though Charlie might seem a bit flighty, he's always been committed, reliable and grounded. He's never really had a relationship with his parents since the left him at the Institute with their close family friends [ the Truloves ] while they went to work in Idris, only seeing him once or twice every few years - he doesn't want to end up like them, so he works as hard as he can to be there for the ones he loves. He's a safe haven to anybody who needs one; he's always been a comforting guy. But, there always has to be a deal breaker. For Charlie? He's standoffish and independent, impatient and lonely. There isn't an ounce of pity towards those who aren't proactive with this guy. There's no guarantee that he'll rely on you, but you can always rely on him. Charlie's lived in the Institute since he was two years old, so it's the only home he's ever known. Arden and Addie were like his sisters, which is why he was torn up about Addie's death. He's devoted his time to comforting Arden and her parents while trying to mend himself up as well. He doesn't want to rely on anybody to help him.

sunrise.Sunrise, sunrise -
Looks like mornin' in your eyes,
But the clocks held 9:15 for hours.
Sunrise, sunrise -
Couldn't tempt us if it tried,
'Cause the afternoon's already come and gone.
And I said hoo...
To you.

Never something I could hide,
When I see we made it through another day.
And I said hoo...
To you.

appearence →Arden. This girl is definitely not your typical blonde-haired, angelic beauty. She isn’t your typical devil either – she’s worse. Outgoing, bubbly, amazing in all sorts – not her sort. Those were things that describe her sister who's fire burnt out much too soon. This girl is easily distinguished as being intense just by her striking looks. Her face is chiseled to perfection, with high cheekbones lining an angular face that fits everything perfectly. She has a natural, sarcastic half-smile that never seems to leave it's spot on her face; it's a landmark. The certain creamy-peachy color of her skin laces around her body, keeping the tone perfectly even and the same color throughout. She doesn’t tan very easily, but that blossomy skin upon her body is utterly beautiful. That color that wraps her hair is typical; blonde. But this blonde is different; two-toned and casual, her hair rests solidly in the 'dirty-blonde' category. Her roots are dark compared to her pale ends - it offsets her light skin nicely. Sharp eyes stare out from her angled face. Speculating. Blue. Judgmental. Absent. Didn’t anyone notice these eyes? Smoldering, chilling gray-blue eyes play a part in her fragile, lethal looks. They are fiery yet still, like smoke settling around her iris. Her iris is just that certain color, making her eyes take on such a striking look of smoke settling over a deep river. Her body is something noticed by many people. She has a body that could stop traffic – making it bumper-to-bumper. Arden has long arms, long legs, an even torso and narrow hips; she has many curves though they aren't as defined she she'd hoped they'd be. She tends to wear clothes that emphasize all her small curves, making them noticeable no matter what the situation may be. It is quite awe-inspiring – she never takes it too far, making it look just about right on this girl - sweet or not. She’s not that typical blonde - one that all the guys fall over for. Arden's much more then that; she's a beautiful story, just waiting to be told.
personality →Changed. That's all what one can think when they think of Arden. She's changed from being the goofy, playful girl she once was to this vengeful, pained shell of a girl she is today. Her sister's death changed her into something that could never feel true happiness until the demon that took her life was destroyed; something that she never wanted to be. Charlie and Rich are the only people she's truly close to - all the rest she holds all but a chilly acquaintance here, a few distant friendships there. She didn't mean for it to be this way, but her new determination, drive and blood-lust changed her in the eyes of the others at the Institute. Honestly speaking, she feels alone. Arden wants nothing more than to apologize to all of the others for her awful attitude but can't bring herself to do it. Loving someone so much it hurts and them having them ripped out of your life like Velcro is something she never wants to feel again. So she deals herself out piece by piece, in small doses, to those around her. She insists on evening the score, but, in all honesty, what scores does she have to even? There is next to nothing she can do about the fact. It should have been anticipated, really; Shadowhunters die early. It's a known fact. But this girl? She is alive, but dead on the inside. All she's looking for is someone to bring her back to life [as well as the b*stard that killed her sister].

_Casey-Souto_
the cheerleader
“I was sorry for her; I
was amazed, disgusted
at her h e a r t l e s s
vanity; I wondered why
so much beauty should
be given to those who
made so bad a use of it,
and denied to some who
would make it a benefit
to both themselves and
others. But, God knows
best I concluded. There
are, I suppose, some men
as vain, as selfish, and
as heartless as she is,
and, perhaps, such women
may be useful to
punish them.”

-------The fresh scent of lavender trailed into the room as soon as she stepped through the doorway. Her wide eyes flashed from behind the lenses of her designer sunglasses: Ray Bans, of course. She deserved the best and she got the best. Her hair tumbled down her past her heart shaped head, resembling the utter insanity one would encounter when digging for a jewel such as herself in the rough. As satin as a curtain shade, it seemed to drizzle down her back, molding its way through and throughout her nimble features, finally coming to a rest just below her shoulder blades behind her and her rib cage before her. Her lips parted into a sly smile: a challenging one indeed. She couldn't have been more than eighteen years old as her appearance described, slim body as nimble as her fingers, they themselves pushing back a strand of her cocoa locks. Miss Me brand jeans and a slim tank top in place beneath the robin's egg blue cardigan adorned her frame. Buttons of a darker shade, cedar brown, were sewn on to match the soft, fragile floral petal patterns within her shirt. For her shoes? Nothing more than a freshly bought pair of black heels. It was much of a thrown together piece, neither lavished or lacking in the time consuming decisions. It was... casual, but it was enough to make another gawk in uttermost jealousy. It was a horror when another didn't even have to try to appear envious.
-------"We don't have all day you know." Her voice was sharp, careful in her category of words. Though the impatient edginess in her voice was as clear to me as her crisp ivory green eyes were to any soul she met. They peeked from the shades that rested apon her face. She was just as beautiful even when the bright sun shone down apon her and made her skin seem dark in comparison. With such a lovely, princess-like appearance she'd been dubbed with for life, one would have figured her to be sheltered from the sun's harmful light yet we stayed all day in the warmth, taking advantage of our youth. The sun's rays possessed a tingling sensation on top of our shoulders like we were sitting too close to a fire. Beyond us, southward, the airport beckoned us forward. She refused my plea to let me join alongside her in the plane, the light breeze making it difficult to wrap her in a goodbye hug as it whipped my face uncontrollably. Her hair smelled like coconut - my favorite. She looked like a goddess as she transcended the narrow staircase into the plane, chocolate hair flowing peacefully against the wind. Pain flashed within my mind before I finally decided to let go of her and leave. It was the hardest decision I'd ever made.
-------She'd gotten a bit reckless, or so she explained in her letters. She led me by the hand, so it seemed, as I read every word she wrote on the lined paper twice. Her ability to describe fascinated me, as I didn't expect one so hotheaded to express herself so truly and deeply. I was forced to submit to those chilling eyes of hers in the photographs that were tacked up on my wall when I wrote to her that I was going to visit. She didn't want me to. I knew I was in trouble when she extended out her lower lip and I saw the pitiful puppy-dog eyes only the smoothest of lassies could pull off without effort, cocking her head to add a little to make it even more difficult to agree. It was like saying 'bad dog' to a new puppy. I felt apprehensive, but if someone as beautiful as her had chosen me to begin with, she couldn't possibly ditch me now, right? Her letters were prolonged as time went on, my most personal ones taking the longest to reply to. Soon I never got a reply at all.
-------"Casey!" I'd shouted through the telephone. No voice, not even a low muffled whisper escaped through the line. I felt a sudden urge to confront her like any father would their child. "Casey Georgina Souto, do you know what you're doing to me?" A hiss escaped between her teeth and although I couldn't see them I could tell a fire was lit within her green eyes. I suddenly felt like I was being attacked by a swarm of bees. "Case!" My fist slammed against the wall as my forehead rested on the door frame. I clutched the phone tightly, but I couldn't hear the sound of her melodic voice any longer. It was all a distant buzz in the back of my mind - nothing that could be fixed or changed.
-------"No, I don't know and I don't care. Get a life! You're not my father. We're done." I'd always known Casey was hard to hold on to; she was fearless with her flirting and manipulative with her men. Other guys and I were just ways to prolong the pain she felt when her heart wasn't thumping furiously, her stomach rising up to her throat, her inability to breathe. But she'd found something better, something more thrilling and dropped me instantly like a dead weight off her back. I'd always known that this day would come; the day when she forgot what I meant to her and went chasing after another rainbow. She said she was happier than when she was with me and I believed her. I guess I just didn't think she'd dump me for becoming a cheerleader.
