The orcs and goblins had begun to see they where outnumbered and called for retreat fleeing out the gate while the elves seemed to have a handle on chasing them off the gryphon landed gently infront of candath the rider on it's back appeared to be no one anyone knew but candath spoke to him thanking him for bringing the gryphon by. "it looks like the battle is coming to end the orcs are retreating!" he shouted to aragorn

Legolas awoke to a strange buzzing sound in his ears. There was a dark shadow covering the sun, and it took him a moment to realize this shadow was an elf leaning over him and shaking him. He shook his head, trying to shake out whatever was blocking his ears, but the world remained mute. What was happening? Why couldn't he hear?
It was as if one of his childhood fears - going deaf - was coming true.

Thranduil just stayed beside him not speaking knowing the hearing loss was only temporary but it still made it difficult to communicate with his son. "you can't hear me can you?" thranduil asked and wrote the question down on piece of parchment and just handed it to legolas so he could read it.

Thranduil sighed and watched as saelweth just shoved one of the mirkwood elves who had healed her out of the way "leave me be i am fine" she said making her way to legolas and his father she was trying to look strong and not weak she was stubborn like her father she looked legolas she seemed to have look of relief that he was alive and ran over to him and hugged him she hadn't sad a word and probably wasn't going too.

When Saelweth released Legolas from her embrace, her lips started moving, and she seemed to be talking at top speed, only he couldn't hear her. The buzzing sound in his ears increased, and he stepped back to regain his balance as the world spun.
