Name: Red Seas
Personality:
Red Seas (or Red for short) is a very adventurous Chi Puff who loves to explore the vast wilderness that it the local park. He can never stay in one place for too long, this also includes sitting down for too long, and needs to keep active other wise he gets fidgety. Red likes to be alone most of the time, although he’s not Chi shy, and spends most of his days tracking beetles and bugs though the short bristly grass. He’s open to making new friends, but mostly prefers them if they are of the paw-height sort of size.
History: (a story about his childhood, and what made him the Chipuff he is today)
Red skidded to an over-due halt; the grass beneath his bare paws suddenly consumed in the over-flow water from the stream, creating a separate stream of thick, slushy mud. It felt strangely gooey as Red shifted between paws, trying to keep them as mud free as he could. For some reason the young Chi enjoyed the way it covered his paws and how they squashed down mud bubbles, despite how much his parents would have disapproved. He had to keep going. Goggles pressed against his face Red Seas was determined to make it to the water’s edge where his trout swam lengths waiting to be scooped up and saved.
The handle of his cherry red bucket was slippery with the mud Red had dragged it through and would need a good clean before any fish could call it a home, or a carry case at that. I’ll rinse it in the water, Red thought, lifting a paw to take an uneasy step forward. The mud was coming up to above his knees and Red couldn’t make out where his back paws were any more. They had made train track like prints from where he had started, by the wooden gate at the back of the meadow, and a crater had been formed where Red had dived in to rescue his fish net. The net was still submerged in the mud after Red had given up, a bucket would do just fine, he’d thought but now he was starting to question his thoughts.
Slipping un-steadily Red found he had water coming up to just over his belly button and the grass had sloped away almost completely. He was now it the stream, this became suddenly clear. Not fully into it though, the water was much too deep around the centre area for a Chi Puff of his size to stand up in, but in enough for him to spot his fishy friends. There were three of them. Two browny-yellow trout and a fish of much smaller size Red thought looked more like a shrimp than a fish. They were struggling to stay with in the boundaries of the stream and would, as he had thought on his journey to where he now stood, surely be swept away into the streets if it were not for Red’s help.
“Fishes!” He called out, sloshing water into his bucket and not thinking to clean it out first. As if they had heard him the three scaled creatures swam towards the drenched Chi, getting up some speed for their final leapt into the bucket. Shrimp, Red’s favourite of the three, seemed to be the fastest and with one great fin-flaring leapt splashed down into Red’s awaiting bucket. It lowered the water level quite a bit but Red Seas couldn’t risk his fish flopping out as he tried to re-fill it. The next fish to come was one of the unnamed trouts, the more yellow of the two, and before Red could brace himself for the weight of the fish it landed almost on top of the other. The third and final fish was more cautious, swimming more slowly as not to churn up the mud that had already settled. It jumped from the water but landed un-gracefully beside its friends as if the air flip it had done was planned.
“See.” Red smiled happily, “I told you I’d look after you, didn’t I?” There was no reply from the slightly dizzy fish but still Red took the rescue mission as a successful one. “I wonder if there are any other animals in need of help…”
[I hope you like the story because I do, I also feel quite proud of myself because it comes to 600 words exactly]
