You were right, Cardinal. Gastro diet = Science Diet. I will be switching him slowly. His coat is terrible, he's very itchy, and he was COVERED in dander. After a brush he's not so itchy anymore but I can't wait for what the better food will do for his coat.

Something that -may- help in the meantime.. Walmart has Osters 4 n 1 all natural oatmeal shampoo and I swear by it. Even though Lucky is on a really great diet she goes through phases (normally when we stay on a single food to long.. for whatever reason) of bad dandruff and itching.

Either one of you tried salmon oil and/or coconut oil?

I give Okami both extra virgin coconut oil and Grizzly's salmon oil, it's the only supplements she gets with her raw diet. She's always had bad dandruff, raw really helped with that, but adding both those oils cleared the rest of it up :3

I have some sort of coconut based anti-dander dog shampoo from when I had to live with heavy shedders. I'm not sure if he'll let me give him a bath atm but I'll be using that once I'm able to :] If that doesn't work, the shampoo you suggested will be next on my list of supplies. Hopefully the better food will do most of the work for me.

I give my 1 year old pommerwiennie Toby, (Pomeranian and dachshund) kibbles and bits and I think some puppy chow when we first got her but she seems to be perfectly fine, she is really healthy except for this one time when we were in Great Falls
and her stomach was bigger than usual but my aunt just gave her some peto bismo, (yes pepto bismo, cherry pepto bismo and she hatted it) and after some time (and some gagging from Toby) she was better =^-^=
