Static kicked out fiercely with his hind legs as he gave one more baleful shriek of a whinny, bearing his teeth at the intruders and fighting back with every ounce of his being. But they kept coming. Another sharp kick, hitting only air as he lunged into a last resort fit of bucking, but with no warning, his legs fell out from underneath him with the swift jerk of a rope. He’d forgotten it was attached until just then, and the air rushed right out of him as soon as his shoulder connected with the stony riverside. It was a beautiful twilight, the moon just about to rise in the sky. The river was rushing serenely along side him, the spray off it dampening his coat, the cool breeze giving him goose flesh… and dead quiet except for his own unheard screams. The air was heavy with panic. He struggled with the men frantically as they began to tie him up, biting, spitting, swatting at them with his tail. He’d only just strayed from home a few minutes to drink from the river. He’d never thought something like this would happen, or at least not something that would catch him so terribly off guard. He and Rifle had been having the greatest of times searching for strange and unusual stones just moments ago, Rifle’s love for sparkly things insatiable… but Rifle wasn’t here right now. He was back with Halo, with the others… oh how he’d never thought it would end like this. He wanted to go out in a blaze of glory! Or saving a damsel in distress! Something heroic!! But not this… and as all 4 legs drew together with the tightening of the inescapable knot, the men gathering around him in a huddle to discuss what was to be done next, he knew that his fate was sealed.

Present
Static slumped groggily in the back of the shiny, red stock trailer as it rattled on down the road, his eyes barely half open from the sedatives as he blinked into the bright light. Cuts and bruises riddled his legs and barrel, and his head hung down so low, that his nose would randomly brush the sparsely flung bedding if they hit a bump in the road. He regarded it as the yellow, tasteless stuff that he occasionally munched when he got desperate. It was nothing like the meadow grass he’d grown up on, but it was better than starving to death, which is what was happening to him little by little as time marched on. The natural sheen of his fur was long gone, replaced with a shocking, man-made glimmer, which was produced by a strange lather they’d soaked him with earlier. Whether it was this that caused him to itch so terribly, or the fact that they’d clipped his hair down to the skin all over but his mane, tail, feathering, and chest hair, he couldn’t be certain at this point, but he still couldn’t get over the way his coat looked. Like, like the way the light refracts off the banks of a frozen puddle that’s just starting to melt off with the dawn, when the sun is just beginning to shine over the vast and glorious Alps…. Oh, how that seemed like only a distant memory now. He could tell it was some time in the early morning, just by the amount of light filtering in, but he’d lost all track of time after the first 3 days. One place to another, back and forth, new faces every time.

The first few places that had him weren’t very nice at all. He got the majority of his injuries from them, the scuffs on his legs from knocking knees with the other poor creatures he was penned with. He tried to forget faces, voices, frightened eyes that were all searched out for that glimmer of hope that never came. But they kept coming back, every time he managed to nod off. Their last, frail pleas to him for help as he was ushered carelessly from the area to be shipped away, a hysterical mare being sedated as they took her foal from her… and nearly every destination afterward was the same old story set in repeat, though the latter of the places he was taken to actually wasn’t quite as bad. However, you have to understand that none of these places were at all pleasant to begin with, so he judged them by degrees of misery instead of comfort. This latest place was much more open, spacious, so it rated on the lower end of the misery chart. There were less equids crammed into each pen, slightly better living conditions, along with some strange pellets that he was informed were edible. He didn’t dare touch them. And the people just kept coming and coming… floods of them. Hoards. All of them scanning the pens as though predators on the prowl, weighing up their options, calculating... by the way they acted, it was as though he was some prized thing to be obtained at all costs. They had him cleaned up like something prized at least, as were all the others, though he was one of the last to be taken out of the pen. There was some sort of meaning to what order the equids were called away in, some pattern, but he couldn’t quite place it until later on. They led him down a few halls, a scratchy halter on his face that still plagued him to this hour, and that was right before they took him to… to the dome. Oh my, the noise. They stood him up on a pedestal, keeping him from rearing in fright as somebody over a loud speaker spoke very quickly and clearly to one of the largest crowds of humans he hoped he’d ever have to see again. He could see the flash of yellow tags flying up from all over, eager chattering all about, and even though he had no idea what was happening to him, he got this gut feeling that he was being competed for… somehow. But competed for why?

It was only in between the loud place and the trailer that he was able to ask a nearby equid mare, one in a separate pen, if she knew what was happening. She was an odd thing for sure, letting the humans touch her all over and seeming to enjoy it when she was hauled up on stage just before him. So in other words, she was the perfect one to ask, since she obviously knew what she was doing.
“You don’t know?” she asked him sweetly, looking somewhat baffled as she discreetly eyed him from under her lashes. “You’re a fertile stallion, sir, and quite a peculiar one at that. Don’t you know how lucky you are?" He blinked dumbly for a moment as he briefly mulled over what the pristine creature was telling him, giving a hard swallow as it started to numbly penetrate. Peculiar? And besides that, weren’t all healthy stallions his age fertile? After their 4th birthday... he didn’t like where this was leading. “I’m sorry miss, but I’m afraid I don’t quite follow…” he answered her with progressively widening eyes, the swallowing now something involuntary that threatened him at every moment. She chuckled warmly, crossing the space between them to arch her neck gracefully into his pen. “Aww, you’re new, aren’t you? That's nice.” She cooed under her breath, “You see, since you're coat is so aesthetically appealing to the humans, you will be "seeing" many, many mares, young and old, at your new herd. All of them bearing enviable bloodlines like me and yourself, which is more than any equid could ask for...” she kept right on talking to him in that silky, amiable voice, and he thought his heart was going to leap right out of his chest and gallop away as something clicked in the back of his mind. "Seeing"... Oh... Oh... they were going to breed him... repeatedly... oh flystrike! And with, with mares that, that he’d never met before in his entire life! Oh... and all mares just like this one too, ones who'd never known anything more. Never known the taste of sweet, mountain greenery on a crisp morning. The feel of the wind in your mane as you run over endless terrain. The feeling that you could go anywhere, do anything, without any kind of limits or boundaries… but he had. And he wanted it back.

He wanted it now to the point of sickness. But as he collapsed into a lying position in the back of that trailer, wincing as a scuff on his knee connected with the cold floor, he made a snap decision, right then and there. This wasn’t going to be his life. He was almost positive that if he did in fact live through this, he would fight them to the last mile on it. And that’s when the miracle of all miracles happened. As they hit a pot hole, a truly monstrous pot hole that is, the structure gave a terrible clang that caused his ears to ring, caused his entire body to rise about an inch off the ground before being cruelly slammed back to earth. And that’s when the trailer door magically drifted open, the rapidly receding scenery startling him as he stared on in shock. He’d been back there for what seemed like an eternity. A choking amount of time when all you have to do is shuffle about in empty silence. He’d inspected the door multiple times, the walls, the ceiling, clover buds, even the floor. But he’d never expected the door to fly open like that; it had seemed too secure from the inside. He almost didn’t trust it as a real opportunity at first, like maybe they were just teasing him, a game of cat and mouse as it were… But as the wind whistled and whirled against that loosely swinging door, the fresh air euphorically drinking into his now flared nostrils like heaven on earth, he did something so impulsive, so reckless, so insane that it rivalled something his brother would do. Perhaps the scent of freedom had been too much for his severely addled state? Though whatever the reason, Static jumped.

If the truck that towed his trailer hadn’t taken that corner right when it did, he wouldn’t have survived it. If there hadn’t been a slope curling down into the cushy underbrush just where he managed to hit, it might have torn all of his limbs off. Many factors that applied to that moment could have quickly ended him without even enough time to reflect upon his misfortune. But alas, the stallion hit the ground with a thud that knocked the breath clean out of him, and the rolling effect that suddenly took hold flung him like a doll down the side of the hill. When he finally stopped, it must have been the adrenaline that got him up after he regained his function to breath. By some freak accident, he wasn’t seriously injured either. Maybe some deep tissue bruising, and a cut or two, but he felt more alive than he’d ever been. He pulled himself into a wobbly standing position, the world giving a queasy funhouse tilt from his rendition of a rolling log, but he was off and running with such a fierce determination, it didn’t dawn on him yet that he had no idea where he was running to. Away, that’s where he was running to. And that’s all he needed. They would never catch him again; they would never even see him again, for that matter. And that’s when he finally stopped to catch his breath, skidding in the loose dirt a few paces short of a yard as he gathered himself for the next spurt… and that’s when he saw them, his vision still slightly marred from the sedatives and the fall.

They were a small group, only several equid lengths away, mostly female as far as he could tell, but the only one he could really tell anything about was the white one. Shocking white patches against dull grey. She stood out like a shining star in his line of sight. But he couldn't concentrate. His coat gave another fantastic gleam in the light as his chest heaved with exertion, the heat of the day catching up with him faster than anything else as he tried to gather his thoughts... but, why was it so hot out? The stallion paused as sweat began to bead up in his fur, not appreciating the breeze that had been roaring through that trailer fully until right then. There was something wrong here. Something very, very wrong. And he didn't know what yet. He looked around in an almost frightened daze after he managed to tear his eyes from them, giving a little staggering dance to the side as he started to try and really look at things. Nothing added up. Nothing looked the same. Not even the mountains! And they always looked the same! He looked a lot like some stunned animal after it'd been hit in the road, the way he kind of aimlessly wandered in a circle with that halter tightly clinging to his face. Where was this place? Where was he?

Siren
Siren was waiting around for the two, wandering about in a wide arc from them, keeping her distance but not straying too far. She had her energy, and it was obvious as she trotted around with a spring to her step and a small smile on her face, but it wasn't explicitly for Kirian or Regina. You may say she was mistrusting, but she just wasn't allowing herself to warm up. Why? Well she herself wasn't sure. Maybe it was the faintest wisp of hope she may climb over one of these mountains and see her former herd just on the other side. And there she'd be home sweet home. But alas that would never happen. Though Siren didn't know it, in reality she had wandered for weeks instead of days like she thought. The mare was too consumed in her travels and full of energy that night and day blurred together, she was always on the move.

Siren's home was long gone by now. That blur of a trip she took on put miles and miles between her and her family. It'd be a miracle she ever saw them again. Secretly Siren knew this was the truth, she knew if she couldn't find them now she never would. This thought ran through her mind as she waited, making her heart sink to her hooves. Suddenly her burst of energy faded and her head sunk from it's usually regal position high in the air.
" I think I'm going to call it a night guys, sorry but I think it'd be good to settle in for a nights rest, " she neighed towards Kirian and Regina. They got along fine so Siren felt no guilt ditching them so quickly, however she hoped they wouldn't mind her leaving.

The sound of heavy breathing startled Siren as she plodded up a small hill and started scaling down the opposing side. She first stopped dead in her tracks to glance around, it was really loud. It sounded like someone had just run across America without stopping. Being as late as it was Siren found it a little eerie, and had to rely on her supply of confidence to urge her on. That curiosity nagged at her though, what could possibly be breathing so hard? Suddenly she forgot her former downer mood of her lost family, and the sound of some other equid consumed her mind and she decided she must go investigate.

A shrill whinny of her own pierced the dusky sky, calling out to whomever it was. Though soon enough she spotted the fellow in question, a stallion. It was obvious she was visible to him far more than the other way around. So he must have noticed Kirian, Regina, and Siren from where he stood. The stallion looked a mess, covered in sweat and his chest heaved. Eyes were widened so the whites were clearly visible. It was a little unsettling, what could startle a stallion so easily?

Siren was certainly having a whirlwind of emotions today. She went from energized to saddened, then found a store of curiosity and now she just felt sympathy for the stallion. She knew not of his situation or anything, but he seemed a sad case just standing alone and seeming to frightened.
" Are you alright?, " came her silky voice as she neared, stopping several yards away and just leaning her head towards him, as if inspecting him to be real. He certainly had a striking coat, so many different colors and such intense quip. The stallion was something to look at, but at the same time it seemed lacking. It was trimmed short and seemed to be.. fake? No not fake, it was very much real and handsome. It just lacked.. life.

Personalty

Blue is an eccentric character, not only that but also a strong one.Blue is not a dainty mare and in flight of fight her unusualness may put her in fight. She may seem a bit hard but she really can be quite caring, any close friend of hers wouldn't see the fierce mare others see but a witty, energetic one, at times she can be an all around goof. Blue gets her name for the bright eyes that shine like the moon, in a tight spot or bad situation they get a dangerous light that make other wary of her.But in a nutshell Blue, is a caring, witty, fierce, eccentric mare

With: A member of the small group has come over...
Feels: Disoriented, sore, and for possibly the first time ever, truly afraid.

Words: 583
Static’s ears were ringing, and his throat was so dry now from his own, ragged pants, that he could barely swallow anymore. His thoughts were almost beyond straightening at this point. Every time he tried to think too hard about the situation, every time he let himself dwell on the fact that he had no idea where he was or how he was going to get back home, the world around him would give another unsettling tilt that caused the brights to seem brighter and the darks to seem darker. What am I going to do? What am I going to do? Those words repeated over and over in his mind until he could have just happily went stark raving mad. But he had to try and get through this. He had to. If he was going to stand any kind of chance in this strange place, he needed to pull his head together. But oh he was so weak. Maybe he hadn’t come out of the fall unscathed after all, or maybe he just wasn’t as uncrackable as he thought he was? Or maybe the… the injection… No, no matter the reason, he had to try and make sense of this situation. And quickly.

“Are you okay?” her voice sounded so far away, like the sound the wind makes when it passes through mountains miles up in the air, though it had an oddly soothing tenor that caused his heart rate to slow just a hair. She sounded so sweet to him, innocent almost, which was maybe just what he needed right then, even though he would normally have recoiled at anything close to sympathy. He just wasn't that kind of equid... but things were different now. Scary different. His panting slowed a little more in the small silence that followed. Perhaps she was waiting at the top of that endless, ominous pit he was now sinking into? That dark hole that was threatening to swallow him up at any moment? To make the pain go away? He looked back to the little mare with something just short of helplessness in his eyes, her image a soft, white blur, and hoarsely attempted to reply after he wobbled there for a moment.

“I...I don’t know...” he answered hesitantly, letting his legs shakily fold underneath him as he began to stare forlornly off into the distance again. Lost, he'd never felt so lost before… reflexively, he drew his tail in like a safety blanket, as if it were the only thing standing between he and what he feared most, and finally settled into the grass, rubbing vainly at the halter on his head like a young foal trying to rub the sleep from it’s eyes. “I don’t know where I am... I... I can’t get this thing off... I can’t stay here... I don’t know what to do…” he mumbled tiredly as many different thoughts spilled out at once and in little to no order, his head still spinning as he feebly fought off unconsciousness. He was so tired... so confused... And then, all at once, as if something rational finally flashed through his head, he looked right at her, pleadingly, seeing the last of the dying light reflect in her sky blue eyes as he did so. “They’ll come for me.” he finally said, hushed, eyes dulled slightly with terror, but the most clearly spoken words he’d said to her since she’d first noticed him. That was the one thing he did know, for sure. They would come.

{Wow, late post much... :oops: Sorry 'bout that, guys. And poor Static! *hugs* }

Kirian
With Siren, Regina and now Static..
Mood: Confused and concerned.
He is crushing on no-one

I see Siren walk away, watch her body language change, and I realise she's seen something, something to make concern seep into her tail, the very way she flicks it is a giveaway. I snort and quietly trot over, unable to contain the curiosity running through me. With a friendly, but soft nicker, I look at Siren, coming behind her. "What is it, Si-" My words drop off when I see what she's seeing. A young stallion, about my age, long, lanky and with stunning quipping, but his coat seems somewhat dull, and fear and terror is imprinted in his eyes as he frightenedly glances here and there. I just manage to catch the words which drop out of his mouth - "They'll come for me." I take a step forward, and drop my head, trying to look as least intimidating as possible as I let out a low, reassuring nicker. "Hold on, sonny. Who's coming for you? And you can calm down - we're not going to hurt you." I say, a small, gentle smile underlining my words.

Regina
Regina got uneasy like she often did when she actually knew there was danger. Often times she was completely oblivious to it. She swished her tail back and forth and swiveled her ears while shifting her weight from hoof to hoof after hearing Static say that something would come for him. The grulla mare heard Kirian's reassuring nicker and calmed slightly but still jumped at every sharp sound. She noticed the halter on his head and blinked her eyes. She studied it and asked bluntly, "What is that on your head?" It wasn't anything she had seen before so she was a bit confused.

[Accepted Bluemoon :'D]

Siren
Siren stood idly as the stallion sunk to the ground, answering vaguely to her question in a shaky tone. She whickered softly, trying to calm him down so she could get a clearer answer. The arrival of Kirian and Regina was to be expected so she let them speak, while she stayed quiet and thought about what to do. Siren was a thinker, she liked to have a plan and know what was happening. So stopping to take a knee and listen and think was not strange for her.

Each time Siren went to speak the look in the Stallions eyes make her cringe, they were so miserable and sad. Often times those were emotions easily duplicated and contagious so she had to just look past it.
" Calm down, you're safe here. I'm Siren, this is Kirian, and that's Regina, we only want to help," she finally spoke up, taking two tentative steps towards him, her neck arched so her head was down. It was much less demeaning than her usual posture, all high-and-mighty.

Who are they? What was he talking about? Besides the matter Siren let Kirian continue to ask about that as he already had, and at the same time she was wondering the same as Regina. There was honestly no way for Siren to actually help him, he seemed more emotionally damaged than physically. That got under her skin, she hated being useless. In a feeble attempt to really help she started to move closer and maybe try to get the thing off of his head. That is until her mind got the best of her and she stepped back, looking at the stallion softly. That was too invasive right now, what if he was crazy after all and just snapped at her?

BlueMoon
BlueMoon was plodding along though the dark landscape,this in when she traveled fastest, Blue had been here for about a month in this unfamiliar place, right now she was following some hoof prints she had spotted.When she had found them it only took a quick examination to determine that they belonged the feet of some Mountain Equids like herself, it was a comfort to know there were others like her. She had also seen tracks that looked like one of them had been in a flight situation, for this she was curious.

She was just thinking of finding a suitable place to bed down till day when she saw the other Equids, there was a total of four two male, and two female. Three of them were around one of the males,the guy had a stunning coat but something about it was.....off. The poor guy looked frighted to death, and he had one of the two-leg halters on, she shuttered remembering her own escape, it had been a terrible time, she had only escaped because they had put her in a pen with a low fence, we'll low in her standards.

she would have gone over to calm the stallion down but the other unnerved her so she kept her distance and thought on how to approach the small group, she herself was not overly meek, so she sometimes had trouble getting along with others, she studied the angle of situation and was picking between a couple of good plans of action.

    Coat: Is the rare Lemonsilla color with
    brindle and white face and stockings
    Eye Color: Light Amber
    Personality: Evandess will put up a front the first time you meet her. She is insecure of herself and is rather sensitive to what others think of her.Once you do get to know Evandess you'll find out how beautiful inside and out she really is. She loves the little things of the world and sees the beauty in all things. It takes very little to make her happy, such as a few warm rays of sun on a cold spring day. If you're persistent, dedicated, and open-minded,
    Evandess will open up to you and be the most loyal friend.

    Likes: Watching owls hunt on days that it snows, sitting in warm rays of sunlight on cold days, slushy snow :3, making ripples in calm water, the smell of the earth right before it rains, being with her friends, exploring the mountains
    Dislikes: Being crowded, noisy places, bugs, hot sticky days, burs in her tail

    Mate: Win her heart :)
    Best Friends: Celandine

    Name: Celandine
    Gender: Mare
    Height: 14.hh
    Coat: Bay Pangare Tobiano
    Eye Color: Crystal Blue
    Personality: Celandine is an Equid with many quirks. When she's happy she always lifts her front right leg. It's a cute little habit she has that happens all the time. When Celandine is nervous she paws the ground and twitches her ears. In her defense, who wouldn't? She doesn't like uncomfortable situations. Not that she's run away from them however. Celandine is the Equid who might accidentally make an awkward situation worse. And when she has a crush on another Equid she perks her ears swishes her long tail back and forth. Celandine also would innocently stalk her crush as well, trotting after them trying to look as elegant as possible, but looking shyly away whenever eye contact is made. This young mare is genuine. She has the ability to be her real self--honest and comfortable in her skin. Its one of the most beautiful traits an Equid could possess.

    Likes: Summer and Spring weather, butterflies, being with others, spring water, chasing lightning bugs in moonlight
    Dislikes: Waiting, sitting still, being alone

    Mate: Win her heart :)
    Best Friends: Evandess

Felaróf
Basic Information wrote:Name; Felaróf
Gender; Colt
Age; 3, bordering on 4 years at the time of the RP
Height; 12.2 hands high
Status; Bachelor

Delving Deeper wrote:Main Personality Traits; Withdrawn | Observant | Sensitive | Honest
In a Nutshell; Felaróf is withdrawn, not liking to be the center of attention and hating being pushed out of his comfort zone. When he meets new equids, he becomes snappy, arrogant and tries to get away as soon as possible, but once you get inside him, he becomes a completely different equid - more positive, friendly and trusting. He is very honest, and always keeps secrets, being quite trustworthy and trusting his friends the same as well, but being wounded if that trust is betrayed. He's quite sensitive, with seemingly small things sometimes triggering a complete mood-change, making him feel arrogant, excstatic or depressed in a moment. He finds it hard to hide his feelings at times. He can be easily hurt at times, if you offend something very close to him. He loves his friends and family more than anything, but if he's feeling sour he can be quite arrogant to everyone. But when he feels his temper running high, he withdraws to a quiet place where he can be completely alone, before he hurts someone. Fell is an equid of little words, and he often replaces words for actions or noises.

Likes;
-> Being alone
-> Equids who listen and care
-> Routine
-> Close family and friends, they're his security blanket
-> Darkness, it seems so scary yet somehow safe
-> Being wanted and loved
Dislikes;
-> Bright, piercing light
-> Crowds
-> Broken trust
-> Rejection
-> Others putting down him or those close to him

Fears;
-> Being unloved

History and Relationships wrote:His Past; Past? The only really strong event is that he left his mother, Kataya, with his brother Hasufel when he was about 3 years old, after slowly drifting apart as all equids do the older they get. But he is still scared of the outside world, and if it wasn't for his younger brother's confidence, he would still be wrapped tightly in the security blanket of his mother. But even then, he likes to keep to himself and Hasufel, not meeting any new equids or being pushed into unfamiliar places. He helps his brother gain his own confidence, looking after him with his increased maturity, but also relying on him to have the strength he can't supply himself.
Relationship Status; He doesn't have any special gal, but he is very scared of relationships. Felaróf didn't have the faintest idea on what he thought of love, but now he knows all too well. When he turned 3, Felaróf asked Kataya about love, and his mother told him the story about the lows and highs of her life, and the pain she went through from not looking before she lept into love. The story hit Felaróf as shocking, and although he didn't embrace love with open arms before, now he shuns it completely, as he's scared of being rejected, scared of falling and scared of a broken heart. Although Kataya leapt up from the hurt she went through, finding the true love of her life and becoming a better equid, that all seemed to blow over Felaróf's head. He stamps down any remotely romantic feeling he has, not wanting to go through pain, suffering and not wanting to fall.

Hasufel
Basic Information wrote:Name; Hasufel
Gender; Colt
Age; 2, bordering on 3 years at the time of the RP
Height; 12.2 hands high
Status; Bachelor

Delving Deeper wrote:Main Personality Traits; Ambitious | Courageous | Loyal | Strong
In a Nutshell; Hasufel... strong, courageous and full of dreams and aspirations, he's a fighter, and one who wants to make a change in the world. Down-to-earth, generous and kind, he is a great leader, but he doesn't exactly want to lead. Hasufel wants to make a difference in the world, not wanting his life to go by, just another equid, just another leaf in a forest, to wither and fade, unmissed, ignored. Loyal and confident, he stands up for what he belives in, and doesn't let others stand in the way of his dreams, trying to push him down and cut down his aspirations.

Likes;
-> Water
-> The sunrise
-> Getting up early
-> Running
-> Cool breezes
-> Bird calls
-> Snow
Dislikes;
-> Humidity
-> Tense and awkward situations
-> Fighting
-> Those he loves being hurt

History and Relationships wrote:His Past; He left his mother, with his brother Felaróf when he was 2 years old, wanting to discover the world and make his aspirations come true.He relies and loves his brother Felaróf dearly, and sees him as a mentor, relying on him in the same way he is relyed on. Fell especially helps him stand strong, and together they create an impenatrable wall of strength, with confidence and loyalty nobody can destroy.
Relationship Status; Don't even ask. He's not old enough yet.
