Jade glanced at Alex, then Lillian. I gaped, and Forest and Hazel exchanged glances.
The others struggled to get up. Finally, Lillian flicked her hand, and they flew up in the air.
I think you know what I want, she snarled. Fox glanced around near us.
No, he murmured. Not again....
What did he mean, 'not again'?
Fox, what do you mean? I asked softly.
Well..... A few years back, Alex appeared at the prison where I was, along with Secrecy and Fireivy. Soon, the two of us became close friends, and a little while after that, Fireivy and Secrecy found a way to leave the prison. Secrecy offered to take Alex and me with them, but we refused.
A little while later, we started talking about the Yin-Yang Eclipse power. We had gotten into that conversation for weeks. We didn't know that..... That..... They were listening.
They eventually needed a new member of their rank. The leader appeared to us, and demanded for Alex. We both stood our ground, and she kept repeating no. She held her ground well, but she vanished with the leader.
She eventually came back after a day or two, but she wasn't the same. She was shaken, and scared. Every time the floorboard would creak, she'd jump.
Soon, a new dog came. His name was Rusty, and the three of us became friends- but Alex was starting to drift away more and more each day.
They found out Rusty's power a month later. He was the power of the Sun. They forced Alex to change and fight him. I was forced to calm her down, but it would be temporary. Each day, it got worse. Every time Rusty got a letter from his sister Jewel, Alex would soon change.
A year after that, however, our miracle came- Shiver. She was the power of the Moon, and she could calm Alex. The first time and the only time she had to, was when she attacked Rusty. I wasn't able to help. She clamped a muzzle on Alex, and Rusty stopped fighting.
She got Alex to calm down, and then later that night or a day after, Shiver was staring outside in the moonlight. She was glowing like Rusty did in the daylight. Alex joined her, and then, just like that, the window exploded. Fresh air busted in the cell. Alex glanced at me, and told me, "Fox, come on! I need you, come on!" I refused. I had the feeling that if I stayed, I would see her again.
She kept begging me, but Shiver forced her out. Rusty was already running. Alex turned back, and said the saddest farewell I ever heard from her.
She jumped out of the window, and I forced myself not to look back. I always regretted my choice, but many years later, you came. Alex was with you. I could barely believe it. I hadn't seen her in forever. When I finally got up the courage to speak, I saw the relief in her eyes.
I was happy that I was able to leave the horrid place with you. And from that, you know the rest of the story.
I stared at Fox. Whoa.....
He nodded. And now, I can't lose her again. Ginger- she has the power of the Yin-Yang Eclipse. When they forced her to become the different her, they did something by accident. They gave the the power of the Eclipse. She became the Yin-Yang because she had two uncontrollable sides. The Eclipse because, on accident, it was finished on the night of an eclipse. He shivered, glancing back at them.
Lillian turned to us, and she was a different dog. The same dog that dog-napped Secrecy, Fireivy, and Alex!
The war of change.... I jumped. I didn't hear or see Zapphire until she had muttered that statement. She glanced at us. Help them. I'll round up the rest.
I nodded. Good luck.
She shook her head. No, Ginger. You and your friends need the luck!
I nodded, and faced Fox.
Come on.
In a blink, we charged at our friends and Lillian.
She whipped her head around. Alex chocked out, No! Leave!, and that made Fox furious. He lunged at Lillian. She shrieked, and fell from the air, onto the desert floor.
I glanced at them, and Hazel and Forest ran over. Hazel started chanting, and then our friends slowly fell from the sky.
Shivering, Dawn ran up to Jade. Jade stared at her, before, hugging her.
Are you ok? he whispered.
She shook her head, frightened, and didn't speak. The rest didn't seem so good, either.
Fox pinned Lillian, and snarled in her face.
Is that all you got?! she shrieked. The world shook. I glanced around and my friends. You will ruin the word if you don't surrender, Ten, she snapped. O saw out of the corned of my eye that the Others were here. I bit my tongue. Hazel opened her mouth to snap back, but then Lillian continued. I could've destroyed you all, she snapped. Foolish Ten, you're from the future too! Can't you see?! Every dog with powers is from the future!
And what about you?! Forest snapped. You have powers too!
Yeah!
Yeah. how'd you get yours then?!
Those two twins could be so stupid at times.
Why?! Well-
She was cut off. She vanished the second that Zapphire returned with her friends and her dad.
What happened?! he snapped.
Where'd she go?!
My breathing shook as a threat hung in the air.
This isn't over.
We all froze, and Alex fell to the ground, shaking in fear. Fox ran over to her, and Jade stopped Dawn from falling. Their friends fell from fear.
I glanced at the Others. I think, I started, but Hazel finished.
That the war is about to begin.




Yay. I. Am. Finally. Done.
This was a lot of writing. I mainly listened to "War of Change" by Thousand Foot Kruntch. Which I'm listening to now.

And...... MORE! I'm bored. Seriously bored.



I eyed Hazel, who smiled cheesy. I shook my head, sighing. I glanced at the other Ten.
This..... That.....
Can't be good.
I nodded. What do we do?
Forest sighed. First off, make sure that the others are ok. Zapphire, she added, facing her. Can you and your friends split up, and try to find where they're hiding? We need to weaken them.
Zapphire nodded, but her father shook his head. And why should we? We don't need to help you! As it seems, you have everything under control!
But Father! Zapphire begged. Please! They need help!
He sighed in anger, but then redundantly agreed. She grinned, when one of the members went forward.
I don't like that idea.
The dog turned and snarled, and the minion backed up. He flicked his tail, and they split up. Fine then. We're ready. Zapphire will lead this section and Light Strand, you will lead them, he snapped. Zaphire looked at her dad, and licked his ear, padding over. The minion went in the same group.
I have a bad feeling about them.
I shut my eyes. They're splitting us up! I gasped, realizing the truth.
ZAPPHIRE! Hazel shouted. She turned back, but that minion who spoke drove her hard to the ground. The others stumbled up, and Alex barely. Fox steadied her.
Come on, he murmured to her.
Alex nodded, shaking. O-Okay....
We sighed, and glanced around.
Guys..... The war....
They know, Jade comforted her. She sighed, and stood up softly.
I sighed, glancing at my friends, then Alex turned to Zapphire. No! She started running towards her, but Fox grabbed her tail, and tugged her back to him.
No, Alex! They'll kill you!
She glared at him with cold eyes, and they were lit up with ghostly fire. I know that, she snarled. But I'm still helping! She broke away from him, running towards the minion and Zapphire.
Fox gasped. No!
I glanced at him. What?!
Remember what I told you earlier?
Yeah.....?
Ginger..... Alex is gonna kill herself. She's going to use her power!
NO! I shouted, glancing at Alex. From a distance, she was circled in a ghostly half-sphere. I could only watch in horror as she began chanting.
Time slowed down. I ran for Alex, and Fox shouted at Alex, running after me. Alex spoke the last word of the spell, and the minion flew back. Her eyes lit with fire, and the ghost fire started inching towards her.
Time sped up. It's the minor one! he breathed in relief.
Minor?! I yelped. He nodded, and shut his eyes.
Oh Alex, thank you for not killing yourself, he murmured, running towards her. The fire reached her, and it vanished, She opened her eyes slowly, taking in the area.
What happened? she murmured.
You cast the minor spell of your power, he said softly.
Yes she did, a voice said, surprising me.
Rusty!
He grinned. Hi, Ginger!
I grinned, and spotted Shiver. Ginger!
Shiver!
Alex gasped, and a wide grin spread across her face. Rusty! Shiver!
We all smiled, and then I glanced back at the others. Come on, I said, smiling softly.
Rusty held up his paw. Hold it. I need to tell y'all something.
The war's coming faster than we thought, Shiver started. In fact, we only have twelve hours to train.
Fox blinked. Twelve? Did you say twelve?
Rusty nodded. I shut my eyes as Zapphire flew over. Thanks, Alex, she murmured in her ear. Alex smiled softly.
Hey, it was nothing.
I sighed, and glanced behind me. I gasped. The entire HQ?!
Also, I thought we might need a lot of back-up.
I laughed. Rusty, you great thinker!
He grinned. Wait, did he BLUSH?!
Dimanda stepped forward. Rusty said that you could use some help.
My smile widened. Thanks, Dimanda!
She nodded, and I spotted the other Ten, Lucky, Raina, and-
Katniss! River! Sam! Sunset!
The four darted forward, grinning.
, , , and
Katniss grinned. Hazel!
Hazel grinned. Dimanda shut her eyes, and glanced up.
Ginger..... I just realized something.
What? I asked, suddenly scared. The world seemed to hold its breath.
The war isn't in twelve hours. We only..... We only have five minutes.

I gasped.
FIVE. MINUTES?! I shouted. I gaped at her. She nodded.
Yes, five.
I think I passed out.

......

Rusty slapped me. Ow.
You passed out.
Oh.
Shiver shook her head, and then froze. A shiver went down her back, and she turned around. They're here.....
Hmp. Finally they show up, a ruff voice snapped. I turned my head.
Stargazer?
Yes, me! she snarled. I backed up slowly, and saw a friendlier face.
Hi, Faith.
She turned to me and grinned, and then hugged me. Hi, Ginger, she said, letting me go. I smiled at her.
Everyone else pulled out their weapons. The Others grabbed theirs. Hazel and I steadied ourselves, thinking. Alex shut her eyes, and then glanced up. She looked at Shiver and grinned, who grinned back. Shiver was glowing?! WHOA.
Rusty steadied himself next to Shiver, and the two had one paw out each. I blinked, as Dawn Lily and Jade stayed next to each other. Jade squinted his eyes, and tapped the ground softly. Jades hit the ground, and he grinned. I saw Amy, Ron, and Bob together. Fireivy had one paw out in front of all the others, and a vine was going up that leg. Secrecy shut her eyes, and was mumbling to herself. She opened one eye and grinned. Stargazer narrowed her eyes, and crouched like she was fixing to run. Everyone else was prepared, too.
Alex shut her eyes, and glanced at Fox. She whispered something to him, and he looked like he just found out the world was going to end- which it probably would if we didn't win.
Alex, no! he breathed.
Fox, I have to. I'll be fine, I promise!
He still didn't look certain as she ran to the back.
Shadows loomed aorund us, and the enemy stood up on high rocks. As they drew closer, Stargazer looked even more eager to run to them. Was she waiting for the battle to happen or what?
I shut my eyes, glancing around. The enemy charged towards us.
The attack had begun.

Fire and ivy shot out at a few enemies, tangling them, and then they burned to ash.
Ten down!
A thousand more to go, i added in a weak voice.
Secrecy was attacking a third of the enemies with a power I'd never seen. They all vanished after five minutes, and Secrecy looked exhausted.
Everyone else attacked with their power. So far, we were winning.

.....

Almost all the enemies were gone. The only ones that remained where the ones that came into HQ, some random ones, Dream Catcher, and.....
Stargazer?! My mouth fell open slightly. She was fighting US!!
Shiver and Rusty glanced at Alex, and then she nodded. Shiver spoke a word, and the stars vanished. Rusty spoke a new word and the sun started to appear. Alex shut her eyes, and she started chanting. She was surrounded by the ghostly fire again. Enemies suddenly realized what she was doing, and they charged at her, but Shiver and Rusty held them back with the Moon and Sun's light. Blinded, they stumbled into a fire that Fireivy had done. Hazel and I nodded at each other, and we started chanting. All my anger went into it, and soon, only a few remained. But then, a fresh wave attacked!
Hazel and I barely ducked as Forest shouted out a curse and light came from her staff, hitting an enemy.
It's Dusk and Shadow's patrol! she shouted. Secrecy ran over.
This is the last wave!
I sighed in relief. Thank goodness!
Forest nodded, and the attack started up again.

........

The battle was almost over. Only Lillian, Dream Catcher, Stargazer, Dusk, and Shadow remained, when Alex spoke the last line of the spell.
The Moon will cover the Sun, and the Eclipse will take over with victory!
The world darkened into pitch-black. I heard a soft fall, and paws running in that direction.
I glanced at Hazel. What happened?!
Suddenly, there were three sickening thuds. Stargazer growled, and spoke a word at them.
This round is over, she snarled, as the others woke up, back from death. This is over for now, Ginger. We will be back!
We will be back.
And with that, they vanished in a seriously bright light, and three voices spoke as one. (Since it's three, it'll be center in a fancy font!)

I glanced at the three speakers. Light surrounded them- it was gold, silver, and it was in the shape of the yin-yang symbol. Rusty, Shiver, and Alex!
We need to head back, Fox murmured, glancing at everyone.
Agreed, Dimanda said. She turned in our direction as light came back to the sky. And the Ten, you need to come with me, she said, eyes sparkling. Ten pups have to be appointed as the new Ten!

I meet my goal much sooner than I expected!
I finished: 16 days early!!!




I sighed, glancing at the other Ten. There were about twenty pups or so. I sighed.
This is so hard, I murmured. I was thankful- these pups were from the present. Hazel had picked hers, and was talking to her. The pup nodded, smiling softly. Hazel gave the pup the chain and mirror.
I have chosen mine, she said, facing us. Her name's Fernblizzard.
I sighed softly. Everyone else had chosen theirs. Windsong chose Charm, Wind chose Ivyfern, Forest chose Nyx, Myth chose Kantaka, Moonlit Star chose Danzi, Moonlight chose Lavender, April chose Hunter, and Wings chose Gwyn.
I sighed, looking at all the puppies. Glancing at one in particular, I saw that she was just like me- shy, and energetic. I grinned, and beckoned her towards me.
What's your name, sweetie? I asked her softly.
Jaded Ghost, she said softly, yawning. I smiled at her.
I chose Jaded Ghost, I said, facing everyone else. Jaded Ghost looked up, shocked, and happy.
I sighed, and glanced at them. We have the future Ten, I said, smiling.
Forest nodded. Yes, yes we do. I hope they can help everyone like we did for them.
I nodded, then looked at them. I need to go tell Amy, Bob, Ron, Fireivy, Secrecy, and Alex something. Hazel nodded.
We'll be waiting here for you. Jaded Ghost, stay here, she added, looking at her. I laughed and went to find the six.

......

I looked at them. They were all there, and Fox had made himself in the group, so I had to agree.
Listen, I said, facing them. I need y'all to help protect the future Ten. They have already been chosen. Amy, Ron, and Bob, you'll go together through one portal, and you four will go in the last one, I said, glancing at them.
Fox nodded. Very well.
Ok!
Alright.
Ok, Ginger. I wish you and the Others good luck.
Very well, Ginger.
Ok.
Alright, Ginger. I just hope you know what you're doing, Alex said, finishing for everyone.
I nodded. I do. Now, come on.

After Alex and Fox jumped through the last portal, I went back to the Others. I smiled, looking at them. One of the puppies padded up to Charm.
I'm going with you! she squeaked. Charm smiled.
Ok Tiffany! Charm squeaked back.
I laughed, looking at them. Gwyn and Jaded Ghost were talking to each other, and Jaded Ghost yawned.
We need to let them sleep, I murmured.
Hazel nodded. And they should stay with us until they can take care of themselves.
We all agreed, and went back to our room.

Now, I can only hope that the seven can help protect the future Ten and their friends. But now, TJOG, I have other duties to do. Farewell, TJOG.
