So, Boo's been hobbling around for about a week now. I've been trying to figure out what's wrong but he wouldn't let me look at his legs (which is typical. he doesn't like me messing with his paws) so I left him alone, hoping that it was maybe just a pulled muscle. Well, he decided to follow into the kitchen today while I was cleaning and I finally got a good look at his paws. Poor baby, they're all cracked and dried out. No wonder he's been miserable all week and reluctant to jump up and down. We had some organic aloe vera oil so I put that on it and I've been watching him closely since. I just checked his paws again and they look SO MUCH better. And he didn't try to lick off the oil while it was wet so that's good. But he's finally feeling good enough to where he's grooming himself. I'm going to put some more on in about an hour. So, cross your fingers.

I've heard that you also have to bathe (yes, you can bathe every cat, but a sphynx is hairless, so the body oil can't be absorbed by fur and it just needs bathing) it and if this is an outdoor cat, you have to protect it from extreme weather conditions (for example by buying a sunscreen or clothes). Also, they have more wax in their ears than other cats (also caused by being hairless), so you have to clean their ears more frequently.

Jezebel has decided that she wants to be really mean today. She is sitting near the bottom of the cat tree and waiting until my puppy walks by, then she starts beating him with her paw. It's pretty hilarious.
Anyone have any ideas on how to keep two cats calm in cat carriers? We are moving soon, and will of course have to put Jez and FatCat in a carrier, but they freak out everytime they go inside!
