You know, I used to go on 4chan a lot. If you don't know, 4chan is the world's largest imageboard that has spawned pretty much every decent meme you know of today. It's a huge hub of online culture, but it's mostly older dudes sitting behind computer monitors insulting each other and getting into debates. The intelligent human being is definitely the minority there. A while back, images featuring anthropomorphic animals in NSFW scenerios were okay to post. Then, the complaints from /b/ (the random board which is the most heavily trafficked and the most notorious) abounded. m00t, the creator, made a /fur/ board where all the furries could go. Two days later everyone who had posted on the board was banned. This sort of gave me a bad image of furries in and of themselves, yet I still liked the SFW anthropomorphic art. I think that whole thing sort of stunted my realization that I appreciated the art/music/ect enough to be apart of the fandom.

So I bought:
Pink Silicone Toony Nose
and
Cut and sanded Thick cast with thin white layer
can't wait for them to come in! No idea what I'm making yet. xD
But it'll be my first fursuit! Going to add some more cheek when it comes in.

That's really sad, really. I've never been to 4chan or Tumblr or really anything like that. I just kinda did my own thing and seemed to have a knack for finding great sites that were friendly to furries or otherkin or both. I've always loved the art, SFW and NSFW. I love the music created, the fursuits, and most of all the people. I've never really seen the "bad" side of furdom and Otherkindom doesn't have much in the way of art, or music, though they have a lot of information and literature, all of which is SFW. I've never been called a bad name or anything like that for being a furry or for being otherkin. I don't know if it's just because I'm naive or what. I'm also a brony and I've never been prosecuted for being part of that fandom either. I think the worst I've seen was an image that was severely disliked that had a hanged furry. I hated the image and reported it on the site I found it on and it was removed for discriminatory reasons. That's the only thing I've seen that would make me not want to become a part of this fandom.

Anyone in this thread willing to sell some arts? I have 2009 rares and I need some more Duncan stuff.
That being said, really loving http://www.lackadaisycats.com/comic.php?comicid=1 Lackadaisy Cats. It's like boardwalk empire with anthro cats. I'm telling you though, the story is the frickin best. Cheap Thrills and this are the only two comics worth reading. /ranting and raving
Anyone here ever mess around with furcadia? I've heard of it a few times, mixed reviews. Is it worth playing? I'm an adult, would it still appeal to me?

Talk of the Day: Do you prefer toony fursuits or realistic ones? It's fair to say that most, if not all, of us depend on drawings, do you prefer said drawings to be more stylistic or as realistic as possible? Do you imagine your fursona in a sort of animated way, in your head, or with more realistic standards? Assuming money was not an element, would you prefer a realistic fursuit or a toony one?

TOTD2: What do you guys think of the fact that most furry artists create electronic music? Do you think the link is simply because of the fact that electronic music doesn't take very much money to produce? Is it because of the bigger artists like Queenston setting the stage for such things? I listen to pretty much every genre of music out there, electronic and it's subcategories too, I just thought it was interesting that the link exists. What do you think of the small "industrial" culture elements we're seeing in fursuits? I was scrolling through a blog that was all about full and partial fursuits and saw many a pair of goggles mounted on the head of the suits. Is the link in these two subcultures something that's been there from the start. Having your opinions on this would be awesome.

I'm not sure how to explain it, but I see my fursona as being kind of... Slight. I want her to be mostly realistic, just, a bit animated, and cute. Kind of an anime style, if that helps. When I make her, for the paws, I'm using something like flats instead of sneakers so her paws are small, because I'm not a huge fan of the big cartoony paws most suits have, and I'm making pretty much normal gloves for handpaws. All of her fur will be this short, super plush fur that seems a lot softer and cooler than most of the thick, long, shaggy fur I see.

So yes I will probably be getting both the person is hinging it and cutting the nose for me.
(also making the tear duct larger)
I'll be sending it over to another fursuit maker who will be using it on my commission.
I am very excited about this and cannot wait!

For my fursonas, it's definitely toony and cute. However, I would also LOVE to own a realistic wolf suit/quadsuit and/or a realistic panther fursuit/quadsuit.
