Name:
His name is Luka (loo-kah)
It is of Itallian origin meaning 'bringer of light' or 'bearer of light'. When I first met this little guy, he was pretty clear what he wanted his name to be. I wanted something that related to the way his colouration reminds me if a sunny day. Other names, he would grummble or ignore me. But when I called him Luka he hopped right up and sat on my head.





Personality:
Luka is quite a little character. He is very energetic, always flying around and darting from here to their. If he doesn't get some excercise everday, he'll stay up very late into the night. Luka is very shy, and quite clingy to those he is comfortable with. When he is left alone, he'll squeal and make any sort of loud noise a small rune can be capable of making. Because little Luka is so shy, he'll hide behind his wings. Luka is a cuddler, and will demand to be petted when he feels like it. He can be quite demanding and will screech louder and louder until he gets what he wants; he's found it's the most affective way. He hoards the string and refuses to rid of any one strand. He is quite curious, and eager to learn new tricks or thing of that nature. He likes to bask in the sun. Luka is so sweet, he would intentionally hurt anyone. Without good reason atleast.

Any Quirks:
Luka is definatly one of those kinds of personalities with quite a few quirks.
• Luka likes crayons.
He'll steal them, and stash them in a little spot when he sees any. Whether it's at home, or out and about Luka doesn't like not being able to sneak the crayons into a backpack for when he gets home afterwards. He has a big shoe box full of them. It means he's easy to shop for though.

• When he is trying to think of something, or have an idea, he'll take a large pile of string and place it in the shower. He'll sit there all day on his string pile in the middle of the shower. It's so annoying when it gets hot in summer, but he just deadbrefuses to move.

• String. Big string, small string, colourful string, greyscale string, it doesn't matter to this rune. He has got to have it. Any tiny shread of string gets collected and kept in his nest, or in little piles of string around the house. He'll let you touch the other string piles; as long as you show him where to. And you're not throwing it away. He'll even steal it off the cat.

• Even more so, his pink string. The ordinary pink wollen thread that was taken from his birthing nest. He is obsessed with it. Try touch it, your hand will hurt. Try take it off him, then that us a too violent scene to describe, but it's really bad. He rubs it against his cheek and makes little happy chirping sounds when he gets stressed, or tired.

• Freeze. Luka has this strange habbit of freezing, as he is on the spot. He mostly does it when he is scared or frightened which is quite often since he scares quite easily. He'll stay where he is for up to a couple hours, or when some one can coax him to and pursuade him it's safe.

• Luka LOVES peach and apple crumble. Like pie, but with crumble on the top. Even though he lives it, he'll only eat it when it's cut into little cube shaped slices.





Why do you wish to have him?:
Luka is pretty much a dream character. His bright happy design, with blue and yellow; two of my favourite colours first drew me in. His gorgeous eyes, and darling pink string locked me into trying for him. I could pretty much grasp his personality and quirks, what makes him tick at a glance. One of those characters of myth one may only find a couple times in their lufe. That I just click with him. Perfect sync. I could honestly imagine him darting around my house, snuggled in a basket full of string next to my bed. I have yet to get any runes, as I've been waiting for really perfect ones I click nicely with. Now that I've had a slight taste of owner ship with him, I couldn't imagine being without. He's one of those ones you struggle to find the perfect words to describe the attraction too. He really reminds me of when I was younger, we used to go to the beach and the park so much. He awakens lots of bright happy memories of clear blue skies and endless summer days. I would quite honestly give a hundred pieces of art, write a million stories, trade every item and pet on my account just to be able to say that he was mine. Words aren't my strong point, nor have they ever been really ao I hope this can express how much I really love him.

Where will I keep him?:
He'll have a home on a thread I'll make especially for him and ay future runes I happen to find myself with. He will get his turn being featured in my avatar and signature. He will be drawn over and over, I'll include him in a roleplay or two, write about him and just use him as a friend; a companion.
Luka will have his own basket with his stringnest right in my room by my bed, with all the string and peach & apple crumble a rune could ever want. No doubt I'll talk about him a lot of the time as well.

Would you like to breed him in future?:
Yes.
I see lots of long paragraphs about this section on other forms, so a straight up answer as not to puzzle any one. But, only if I get him grown. I quite like the idea of keeping him young and bouncy fun little guy. Babies are always just a littlevmore fun right?

Story: String Collector

It was a miserable day. It was warm from clouds and the air was sticky with moiture from the previous night's rain. Puddke settled into dips in the little path splashed, soakibg my shoes as I walked.

Home at last, I found the string I had placed outside gone. Some mysterious thing, which I had only been ever to spot as a bright yellow and blue blurr as it flashed past was stealing any and every strand of string it could find. It absolutely puzzled me.

Setting my dessert of peach & apple crumble on the dining room table, I was home alone as the others were out shopping. A small 'burp' rang out from behind me.

I froze with panic, what if some one was in the house?! Very slowly and cautiously I turned around. It wasn't really a someone. But a small blue and yellow baby rune dragon!

They were slightly more uncommon in my neighbour hood, mostly only owned by bearers that had settled here. I had always wanted a rune...
Mum wouldn't mind right?

It, well I assumed he; cocked his head sideways at me and then at the empty dish where my crumble had beeb moments ago. It screeched a horrific loud cry, as if demanding more. Snatching the bowl from it, I piled a bit more of the crumble in.

It looked at me, and screetched again. "So you only like it in cubes then?" I laughed cutting it up for him. "I cannot keep calling you him…" I stated think of a name. "Sunny?" He hissed at me. "Summer?" He just turned away.

"Luka."
He flew into the air, and settled himself on my head making happy little chirping sounds. "Your name is Luka then I guess."

Dragging me by holding my hair, Luka led me outside into a sheltered corner of the yard with me chanting "Owowow!" As he tugged me along.

A colourful collection of string nestled under the shelter of a tree lay before my feet. Looking closer at him, I noticed a piece of pink string draped over himself. "That's where all the string has been going!" I laughed to myself, amazed and amused by it. "Lets get it inside then." I gently lifted it, and he settled into it. Fibding as old basket, I tucked it in the basket and moved in next to my bed.

More happy little chirps, and he flew back to the kitchen to wolf down the remaining crumble.

I sat on the couch, watching his funby little facial expressions as he came closer and fell asleep on my lap, his tummy happily full of cobler.

"So your the little string collecter."

Luka's nest
Luka's nest is is safe haven. He never stops working on it, everyday adding a bit or replacing worn string from it. It's kibd if like a little cave with the string weaved together in such a way that it supports itself. Luka spends lots of time in thete, mostly for sleeping or when is is distressed/unhappy. His nest is so special along with his worn pink string because it provides a link to direct memories of his parents which makes him feel safe and loved no matter whar the situation.

Oh gods, how could I not want him!? His colors are so gorgeous, he is absolutely ADORABLE, and the fact that he loves string is beyond amusing and cute to me. A personality struck me for him instantly and I just knew that I had to apply for him. This little boy is just beyond perfect to me, the love I felt for him was extremely deep as soon as I saw him.


I would definitely keep him in my character thread, for absolute sure! I would also shift my signature around so that he could be the main event, rather than the stamps. Although I change my signature often, so he may not be in my signature all the time, he would be in and out of it on a fairly regular basis. Depending on how the new site works I may remove him from my signature altogether, but until then he would be the main feature. I'm hoping the new site will have a decent amount of roleplayers so that I can roleplay with him and write stories.


Going on the basis of how breeding is/was done on here; yes, if I grew him up. However since I have no idea what the aging or breeding will be like on the new site, I'm not completely certain. I'm going to still say yes, because I don't want to close the opportunity, but I would be extremely picky.

Cheerful doesn't really cover Sora. He's always happy, even when it doesn't seem like there is anything to he happy about. His optimism is abundant and extremely contagious. Simply being in a room with Sora will brighten your spirits, because he will do absolutely anything he can to cheer you up even if that simply means snuggling with you or putting a wing on another Rune to help them out. It doesn't matter what he has to do - assuming it isn't bad, if he can make you happy Sora will go to great lengths to do so.

Whether it's tripping over his string or falling off of a chair, Sora's done it and will likely do it again. His sense of balance seems to be a little skewed, and he's always getting himself into awkward situations that make you wonder what kind of talent he could possibly have for being so utterly clumsy. Fortunately he's never gotten himself truly hurt, it's always rather hilarious situations; nothing serious. But he's still young, maybe he'll grow out of it. Or maybe he's doing it on purpose to make you laugh. Who can tell?

Sora is fearless in his own right. While there are things that do frighten him, he will still do his very best to protect other Runes from whatever it may be and hide his own fear, which he does very well most of the time. He can be a bit thick headed sometimes and will do some dangerous things in an attempt to help out others. He likes to be the hero, even with really small things, as long as it makes the day of someone else.

Jokes, light pranks, showing off; Sora does it all. He's very much like his own one-Rune circus, willing to do anything laughable that won't harm himself or others. Sora is extremely playful and will happily play a million games until he falls asleep on the spot. He's very good at making friends this way and is very sociable. Some think he's simply out of his mind, but really Sora is just such a pleaser that he wants everyone to enjoy his presence.

What's that? How does it work? Where did it come from? Sora is curious almost to the point of being obnoxious. He's mainly interested in things he has never seen before and will investigate it thoroughly if you let him. However it's best to keep him away from technology, as he's liable to somehow break it on accident.

Sora is incredibly against lying or being fake, and follows this for himself. If he dislikes something he will be sure to let you know about it. If he dislikes another Rune or person he usually simply avoids them, as he hates causing dramatic conflicts, but he will not pretend that his feelings are anything but what they are. Everything Sora does for others comes straight from his heart. He loves making people happy, and devotes himself to it through and through.

From string to yarn to fabrics Sora loves them all. He loves to make things for those he fancies and is extremely creative. He's not good with needles, but he is a wonderful weaver, and has even made his own little bed/nest area, all by himself. His work is still a bit sloppy, being as he's still so young but he learns from his mistakes very quickly and does his best to fix things up proper. His favorite things to make are things involving yarn, as he loves the soft texture of it and ribbon, as he loves how easily it can be integrated into almost any project. Sora is easily distracted and will often have multiple projects going at once that are only partially finished, but he will always finish them all in his own time.

Sora loathes getting rid of things that he thinks he may use later. That inch and a half of twine? He might use it and don't you dare try to tell him otherwise! He will often pick things up that he finds and decide that it can be used and take it home with him.

He loves to sing and does so often. Sora's songs are always very pretty, and he loves it when other Runes or people join him in singing, as he loves a good harmony. You can often hear Sora quietly singing to himself as he works on his crafts, although it doesn't even seem as if he notices it most of the time.
♒ diurnal ♒

Sora absolutely cannot stand being awake at night, he is very much a daytime Rune. He LOVES the sunlight and will often go outside and stretch his little wings as far as they can go and soak in the warmth from its rays. He's not particularly frightened of the dark, but he simply doesn't like it. He is an early riser, getting up within half an hour of the sun's begin on the Eastern horizon and getting sleepy approximately an hour after it sets. He is a heavy sleeper when he gets tired, though, so barely anything can wake him up once he's conked out.

Sora's nest took him about two months to make, he made it by weaving it himself with varied yarn and ribbon that he thought was pretty. The colors range from pink to green to violet to maroon. It hangs from a special spot on the ceiling of our home much like a weaver bird's nest. Excluding the part that keeps it hanging, the nest is about two and a half feet tall, so that he can continue to use it when he is full grown. the inside of it is about three by three feet, give or take. He didn't really measure it, he was just making something that would be large enough for him to sleep or rest in, and where he could keep the biggest bulk of his hoard of yarn, string, and ribbon; which would seem unorganized to anyone but him. He's also purposefully made it large enough that if he was ever to find a mate they could share the nest, but who knows if or when that would happen. Sora is an optimist, though, and doesn't mind the extra space until then - it gives him more room to store his things.

Sora spends very little time in his nest, mainly using it for sleeping at night and storage. If he's planning a small surprise that he's making then he will work on it in his nest rather than out in the open, but most of the time he prefers to overrun the desk with his projects and materials. He would much rather be out and be social than feel like he's cooped up in a nest all the time.

Macramé is a very go-with-the-flow rune. Still young, he doesn't have much reason to be stiff or rigid in any way.

I'll definiately keep him in my siggie, for as you can see, it's a work in progress that sorely needs something to brighten it up. I don't currently have very many characters, since I'm not terribly good at making forms, but becoming the owner of this lovely rune would definately spur me to create a character thread. Hopefully he'll have other charries joining him later :]

Himo here is a very silly, energetic, and loving little Rune. He has trouble taking things seriously, and that often leads him and his friends into trouble. He's highly adventurous, and has trouble sitting still or paying attention for any long period of time. Why pay attention when you could be exploring unknown places and hunting for treasure, after all? He often gets hurt on these expeditions, of course... Or manages to bug the heck out of the people working in the fabric departments of nearby stores!

If nothing else, though, he is a good, sweet little dragon deep down, even if you have to dig through miles of sandy beach to find it (Only to learn that the chest hiding it is locked and you now need to hunt down a key |D). He loves cuddling with his buddies at night, and will often make little presents out of yarn, string, thread, and fabric for them on special occasions, or when they're feeling down or under the weather.

He is just flipping adorable, and I would be honored to have him as my first Rune <3

He's a bit of a kleptomaniac, often stealing bits of threads and fabric from our local stores. They're used to it by now, but I'm not allowed anywhere near the quilting department of our local Walmart now, which is a shame, as it's right next to the electronics |D On the brighter side, he often uses the stuff he steals to help my mother with her quilting and whatnot, so that's okay!

Besides that, he loves making fabric, yarn, and string-related puns, then pointing them out to everyone nearby. In fact, look back up, to the 'Where will you keep him' section, in the first sentence. Did you notice that before~? Yeah, it's kind of like that.
