To beat that level you fly to the top left and go down. Once you are down there you go right and avoid the spikes by not flying for a second. Once you reach the end of the spikes you will go up and break the obstacle and be at the element of loyalty.
It took me a while to figure out that level, too. Wonderful game, nonetheless. ^^

So a draconequus is a mix of a horse or goat (looks like a traditional unicorn to me), a dragon, and several other species, then?

To be technical, lets look at the Latin Stems.
Draco=Dragon
Equus=Equine=Horse
So, all in all, Discord is supposed to be some sort of Dragon-horse. That makes sense, right?

Yeah- Discord's species name means horse+dragon, but he is part horse, part dragon, and part who knows what...

DUDE. That stocking is amazing. X) I already have one - my mother made it for me, and it's pretty darn fabulous. I don't need another one; but this IS an idea for when my stocking eventually wears out.
